1291: Strange Beast

The Abyssal Meteorite Abyss was dim, with even the sky being a hazy grey, filled with a sense of desolation and destruction.

This place and the outside world were completely different realms.

Wang Chen walked through it, and with his formidable strength, he could only see clearly for about a thousand meters with his eyesight alone; anything further was blurry.

Even when he released his Mental Energy, the covered range was only ten times larger than what he could see with his eyes.

The omnipresent Star Extinction Power in the surroundings suppressed Mental Energy even more, causing greater harm; releasing Mental Energy was almost equivalent to constantly engaging in a Mental Plane confrontation with a peer-level expert.

“These guys actually dared to follow me in? They’re quite brave.”

As he delved deeper, a hint of surprise suddenly appeared on Wang Chen’s face.

The four 12th Stage Early Stage cultivators he had seen earlier had entered the Abyssal Meteorite Abyss together, carefully following behind him.

However, Wang Chen was only slightly surprised; with the strength of these guys, it was impossible for them to be sent by the Sun Moon Sword Sect to deal with him, and since they wanted to join the fun, he couldn’t be bothered to care.

As he continued to delve deeper into the Abyssal Meteorite Abyss, mists gradually began to roll around him; these mists seemed to have life, actively spreading towards Wang Chen upon seeing him, corroding the space in their wake and emitting a crackling sound.

However, Wang Chen merely released his own power outwards, directly pushing the mist away.

Bang!

At the same time, he struck out with a backhand punch, heavily sending a black shadow that leaped from the ground flying.

Bang!

The black shadow tumbled and crashed to the ground, carving a gully in the earth and sliding for a hundred meters before stopping.

This was a monster about three meters tall, with a green face, fangs, and the appearance of an ape.

It was gaunt, with sunken eye sockets, and its crimson eyes stared at Wang Chen, its face still showing fear.

It seemed utterly astonished that it had not only been discovered but also sent flying with a single punch.

There was a penetrating wound through its chest, its heart having been shattered, clearly indicating it wouldn't survive.

“Is this the exotic beast from the Abyssal Meteorite Abyss?”

“So ugly, and it doesn’t even provide any experience points. Demon Calamity Monsters are cuter than you.”

Wang Chen glanced at it, then lost interest and turned to continue forward.

He wasn't surprised by the appearance of exotic beasts in the Abyssal Meteorite Abyss; when he bought a map before heading to the Samsara Destroying Land, he had already gained a considerable understanding of the Abyssal Meteorite Abyss, and later, he obtained even more information from the Military Merit Exchange Hall.

The Abyssal Meteorite Abyss is filled with Star Extinction Power, making it unsuitable for human cultivators and Yao Race cultivators to survive, but it has given birth to various exotic beasts and monsters.

These exotic beasts and monsters generally possess low intelligence but have tough, copper-like skin and iron-like bones, making their Physical Bodies formidable; they are extremely troublesome in the Abyssal Meteorite Abyss, where everyone's strength is suppressed, especially Mental Energy, which is even more restricted.

Just the one Wang Chen killed earlier, not even many more, just four or five more, would be enough to make a 11th Stage Peak cultivator flee in disarray, and if they were slow, they might even be torn to shreds.

“The location of that killing formation is eight hundred miles after entering the Abyssal Meteorite Abyss. Along the way, I estimate I’ll encounter unique exotic beasts and monsters of the Abyssal Meteorite Abyss that can withstand 12th Stage attacks with their Physical Body.”

“What a hassle.”

Continuing his journey, after swatting away a few more exotic beasts that ambushed him, Wang Chen’s expression was somewhat helpless.

Although these exotic beasts and monsters weren’t strong, their continuous appearance was incredibly annoying.

Meanwhile.

Deep within the Abyssal Meteorite Abyss, beside a deep pit where black mist surged.

Two figures stood opposite each other, eyes closed and silent.

Swish!

Just then, the burly man standing on the left, with Dragon horns on his head, suddenly opened his eyes; Divine Light surged within his pupils, illuminating the Void Realm like a pillar of light, dispelling the black mist in front of him.

“Someone’s here!”

“My small trick laid on the path has been triggered.”

The Dragon-horned man’s voice was somewhat hoarse, yet also carried a feminine quality inconsistent with his physique.

This burly man was Ao Dong, the Dragon King of the Dragon Clan’s second battle general, a 12th Stage Peak Great Yao God.

And standing on the right was Cangmang Shanren, whose appearance resembled an old farmer.

However, at this moment, the Aura emanating from Cangmang Shanren was far from that of a field farmer.

He held his sword hilt in a backhand grip, with the broad sword blade resting against his back; a faint crimson glow continuously flickered around his body, tearing apart and dissolving all the surging Star Extinction Power into nothingness.

“The person who arrived might not necessarily be Wang Xiaotu; perhaps it’s another cultivator attracted by the news, coming to seek treasure. Fellow Daoist, there’s no need to be so nervous.”

Cangmang Shanren said lazily, without even raising an eyelid.

Hearing his words, Ao Dong turned to look at him, a hint of apprehension in his eyes.

Not long ago, an Elder of the Sun Moon Sword Sect, who was traveling outside, proactively sought him out and proposed a collaboration.

They offered Nine Heavens Divine Metal Iron and another material for forging a Dao Artifact in exchange for Wang Xiaotu’s life.

Naturally, Ao Dong readily agreed; he had already received orders to kill Wang Xiaotu anyway, and there was no reason to refuse if he could gain some extra benefits along the way.

However, he had initially thought that the person the Sun Moon Sword Sect would send to act with him would be an Elder from within the Sun Moon Sword Sect, but unexpectedly, it was Cangmang Shanren.

Although this person’s reputation was not prominent on the front lines, that was because his name circulated only among true powerhouses.

At the same time, Cangmang Shanren had a reclusive personality; despite possessing the strength of a seasoned 12th Stage Peak, enough to support a super-force, he rarely interacted with outsiders, as if he had no interest in anything, merely occupying a desolate mountain and cultivating diligently within it all day.

Ao Dong couldn’t fathom what price the Sun Moon Sword Sect had offered to persuade such a reclusive old monster to leave his mountain.

“Senior, I have some doubts in my heart; I wonder if Senior could enlighten me?”

Facing Cangmang Shanren, Ao Dong behaved very courteously, even though he had now entered the 12th Stage Peak, he showed no disrespect.

After all, he clearly understood that there were vast differences even among 12th Stage Peak cultivators, and this one before him could even contend with his own boss, the Dragon King.

“Are you wondering why I came here?”

Cangmang Shanren opened his eyes, his slightly turbid gaze falling upon Ao Dong, immediately discerning the doubt in the other party’s mind.

“Hehe, Senior’s insight is truly sharp.”

With his thoughts exposed, Ao Dong chuckled, not feeling embarrassed at all, and instead continued:

“I had heard of Senior’s great name from Your Highness long ago. Senior is devoted to the Dao and does not rely on external things. While I might be moved by what the Sun Moon Sword Sect offered, I truly cannot imagine what White Jade City used to persuade Senior.”

“Could it be the Sun Moon Sword Sect’s fundamental cultivation method, the Innate Sun Moon Sword Scripture?”

As he spoke, the curiosity on Ao Dong’s face was undisguised.

“The Innate Sun Moon Sword Scripture is indeed a supreme Divine Art, but it’s not worth this old man leaving his mountain.”

Cangmang Shanren shook his head and said indifferently.
