179: The sophomores are autistic!

Tower of Babel.

The 28th floor.

As the countdown for the preparation time hit zero, a figure holding a magic staff and exuding a formidable aura appeared within the space of the 28th floor.

A 100-level Third-Turn Mage!

"It seems that after entering the fourth difficulty, the opponents manifested within the Tower of Babel have undergone new changes!"

Looking at his opponent, who was dressed in wide magic robes, Wang Chen's eyes lit up.

In the previous three difficulties, he had encountered opponents who were all of the warrior class.

While it was true that such visceral, up-close combat was blood-pumping, he still hoped for more variety in his opponents' classes to accumulate combat experience faster.

Buzz, buzz, buzz!

While Wang Chen was deep in thought, the 100-level Mage opposite him waved his staff, and surging magical fluctuations erupted from his body, instantly condensing a gorgeous magic shield in front of him.

And that was not all...

Simultaneously with the appearance of the magic shield, several formidable magic missiles condensed behind the Mage.

"Huh?"

Seeing this, Wang Chen could not help but raise his eyebrows.

Silent casting.

Multitasking.

The opponent manifested on the 28th floor of the Tower of Babel had already mastered the combat techniques required for a Third-Turn Mage to a proficient level.

"Interesting!"

Clenching his fists, Wang Chen's Battle Intent soared.

At this moment, the 100-level Mage, having released two skills in succession, stepped backward while waving his staff.

Whoosh, whoosh, whoosh!

The magic missiles hovering behind him flew directly toward Wang Chen's position.

These magic missiles were extremely fast, almost indistinguishable from the speed of a bullet leaving a chamber.

In just an instant, they arrived before Wang Chen, leaving him no time to react.

Boom, boom, boom!

In the next second, a violent explosion occurred.

The overflowing magic instantly created a magical turbulence in the area where Wang Chen was, completely engulfing his figure.

"Hiss!"

"That hurts!"

A cry of pain sounded from within the magical turbulence, followed by a somewhat disheveled figure emerging from it.

It was Wang Chen.

At this moment, his school uniform had been reduced to rags, and his exposed skin showed traces of being scorched.

"That packs a punch!"

Stretching his body, Wang Chen bared his teeth at the 100-level Mage opposite him.

He had not expected that the magic missile skill, when used by a 100-level Third-Turn Mage, could be so fast that even his formidable combat instincts had barely managed to react.

But that was even better; only with pressure could there be progress!

"Come again!"

Wang Chen shouted excitedly, his feet moving as he charged toward the 100-level Mage like lightning.

"Holy crap!"

"Is this guy made of iron?"

"The magic missile skill released by a 100-level Mage could blow a tank to pieces, yet Wang Chen is completely unharmed, just a bit disheveled?"

In the lobby of the Tower of Babel, the sophomores and juniors stared at the figure emerging from the magical turbulence on the screen, their jaws almost dropping to the floor.

No one had expected that the 70-level Wang Chen could physically tank the magic missiles of a 100-level Mage.

One had to know that although magic missiles were not known for their raw power, a 30-level gap was enough to pose a fatal threat to a 70-level professional.

"Just how high are this guy's physique stats?"

"I am currently a 90-level Third-Turn, and if I took a magic missile from a 100-level Mage, I would be coughing up blood!"

"Is this what a Giant-Beast Master is? Could it be that all the stats fed back to Wang Chen by his Dragon have been added to his physique?"

Incredible exclamations rang out, and everyone wore expressions of disbelief.

One had to know that there was a huge chasm between the Third-Turn and the Second-Turn.

That was the Silver Body!

After condensing a Silver Body, a professional's stats would increase significantly, and the stat points gained from each level-up would double.

Under these circumstances, Wang Chen could still tank the magic missiles of a 100-level Third-Turn Mage at level 70.

This indicated that Wang Chen's physique stats were already on par with a 100-level warrior-class professional.

He was already so terrifying now; if he completed his Third-Turn, he would probably be able to rival a Fourth-Turn professional immediately.

The crowd in the lobby all thought of this possibility at once, their faces turning incredibly shocked.

Especially the sophomores, who felt a strange sense of shame at this moment.

As soon as Wang Chen changed his profession, his strength would surpass all the students in their second year.

Does this mean they would have to bear the name of 'trash' until they graduated?

In the corner of the lobby, Sun Zongsheng and Zhao Wanqiu looked at each other and nodded imperceptibly.

Then, taking advantage of the shock of the crowd, they quietly walked toward the exit of the lobby.

They couldn't watch anymore!

If they kept watching, they would feel nothing but despair because of this freshman.

"Trying to run?"

As the two reached the door, a teasing voice rang in their ears.

"Transfer the lost credits to me first!"

Gao Yuanfeng stood at the door with a smile, extending his hand toward Sun Zongsheng and Zhao Wanqiu.

After his words fell, the crowd in the lobby suddenly woke up.

Wang Chen had already entered the fourth difficulty.

In other words, they had lost the bet!

For a moment, the crowd in the lobby looked at the smiling Gao Yuanfeng with expressions as if they had eaten excrement.

Not only did they lose a large sum of credits, but they were also shown up by a freshman who had just enrolled.

This feeling was simply bitter!

However, these people still cared about their reputation, so they reluctantly transferred the credits to Gao Yuanfeng.

Then, they continued to watch Wang Chen charging rampageously in the screen.

At this moment, Wang Chen had been fighting the Mage on the 28th floor for two minutes.

This was the longest battle he had fought since entering the Tower of Babel.

However, Wang Chen felt no anxiety; instead, there was a hint of joy.

"As expected!"

"Fighting against an opponent who is slightly stronger is quite beneficial for my improvement."

In these two minutes, the combat skills Wang Chen had mastered were becoming increasingly proficient, and the transitions were smoother.

Compared to before, his combat power was at least significantly stronger.

"That's enough!"

"I still need to go to Master to collect my reward today, so let's finish this quickly!"

After being distanced by the Mage, Wang Chen did not pursue him again but stood in place.

"Are you ready?"

"Next, I'm going to gang up on you!"

He teased the Mage opposite him, then waved his hand.

"Ice Purity."

"Su Su."

"It's your turn to perform!"

As his voice fell, two violent auras soared into the sky beside him.
