33: Hyena Squad

The valley where the Fallen One were located.

Over a hundred corpses of the Fallen One lay scattered across the ground, and a thick stench of blood permeated the entire valley.

Four cautious figures walked through the valley, keeping two meters apart from each other.

"Boss, what is going on here?"

The man walking in front had a sharp-mouthed, monkey-cheeked appearance. His triangular eyes looked at the surrounding corpses of the Fallen One, and a hint of fear was faintly visible in the depths of his eyes.

As a level 35 First-Rank professional, the man was not afraid of the Fallen One.

Even by himself, he could still slaughter this many of the Fallen One.

However...

On the valley floor, more than half of the fallen bodies of the Fallen One had been killed in a single strike, without any superfluous wounds.

This kind of technique was something he couldn't hope to match.

"Boss, could this have been done by a Third-Rank powerhouse?"

When the man walked to the center of the valley and saw the strong Fallen One warrior who had also been killed by a single strike to the throat, he finally couldn't help but stop and turn around to look back.

"How is that possible? Third-Rank powerhouses aren't that idle!"

Behind him, a middle-aged man as strong as a polar bear frowned with displeasure.

"It should be a Second-Rank Swordsman. Check the surrounding situation; don't scare yourselves."

The strong middle-aged man waved his hand, signaling the team to disperse and search.

"Boss, look at this!"

Before long, the sharp-mouthed man exclaimed and walked over, carrying a large bundle of items.

"These are all special arrows infused with magic metal; each one is worth at least one hundred gold coins if recycled."

"Which archer is so wasteful? They don't want them after using them once?"

He placed the items on the ground and said with a shocked expression.

Upon hearing this, the strong middle-aged man took a look, and his expression also showed surprise.

The arrows used by ordinary archers are made of synthetic metal, and the cost of each one is basically over ten gold coins.

But the ones in front of him were each crafted from a special alloy, with some magic metal mixed in.

The price, he estimated, was over several hundred gold coins each.

Even with the strong middle-aged man's experience, he couldn't help but feel shocked at this moment.

How rich must one be to treat special arrows as disposable items?!

"Boss, I'm afraid we've run into a big fat sheep this time!"

The sharp-mouthed man counted the arrows one by one, his face filled with growing greed.

"Don't jump to conclusions so early. Whether it's a sheep or a wolf, we don't know yet!"

"Continue searching and see if you can find any other clues."

Upon hearing this, the strong middle-aged man snorted coldly and collected all the arrows on the ground.

"Oh!"

Hearing his words, the sharp-mouthed man nodded reluctantly and turned to continue searching.

Soon, the four of them made another discovery.

"Boss, we found a living one over here; it's a newbie."

A man with a broom-style haircut walked over, dragging a blood-covered Chen Hao.

At this moment, Chen Hao's body was as limp as mud, and his eyes were filled with despair.

He never expected that just after the killing machine Wang Chen left, he would immediately run into the notorious Hyena Squad.

The Hyena Squad.

A notorious Bounty Hunter squad in the Myriad Beasts Mountain Range, they acted cruelly and never left any survivors.

The squad consisted of four people; the middle-aged man who was as strong as a polar bear was the squad's leader, a Second-Rank level 50 Warrior.

The other three, the second and third members, were a First-Rank level 40 Assassin and a Druid, and the fourth was a First-Rank level 40 Shield Warrior.

With the strength of one Second-Rank and three Advanced First-Rank members, the Hyena Squad ranked 36th on the Dongling City Adventurer Guild's wanted list, with a bounty as high as four million gold coins.

Bang!

Chen Hao was thrown in front of the Hyena Boss. In his fear, he couldn't care about the pain in his body and began to beg for mercy at the top of his lungs:

"Don't kill me! I am the eldest young master of the Chen family. I have plenty of money; I'll do anything you want!"

...

Three days later.

The outer perimeter of the Myriad Beasts Mountain Range.

In the gloomy jungle, the tall canopy blocked out the sky, obscuring the light from above.

The jungle was very quiet; the sound of the wind blowing through the leaves could be heard clearly.

Rustle, rustle, rustle...

Wang Chen walked through the jungle with uneven steps, with Situ Yu holding little Ice Purity beside him.

"Wang Chen, I regret it."

Situ Yu kept pushing aside the thorns blocking the path with the longbow in her hand, her expression somewhat resentful.

"What?"

Hearing her words, Wang Chen, who was repeating the same action beside her, turned his head and asked.

"Wang Chen!"

"The path you chose is absolutely terrible!"

Pushing aside the thorns and weeds blocking the path, Situ Yu complained.

Originally, after witnessing the formidable strength of Ice Purity, she thought that the journey to the activity area of the Goldscale Giant Python would be smooth sailing, killing gods if gods blocked the way, killing demons if demons blocked the way, and crushing all wild monsters.

As a result...

Just three days after setting off, Situ Yu sadly discovered that things were not at all as she had imagined.

The wonderful journey she imagined had turned into a wilderness survival experience.

The number of wild monsters encountered was indeed quite large, but most of the time was spent on clearing the path.

These damned thorns and weeds made the beautiful clothes she had spent so much effort preparing useless; she had now practically turned into a savage.

Beside her, Wang Chen rubbed his nose in embarrassment upon hearing Situ Yu's words.

This was indeed his fault.

When planning the route, he only thought about saving time, but he forgot that the Myriad Beasts Mountain Range was completely an untouched wilderness; if one deviated from the routes on the adventurer's map, the consequence was that there wouldn't even be a path.

"Surviving alone in the wilderness is also an essential skill for a professional."

"I'm just letting you experience it in advance. Stop complaining; once we pass through this area ahead, the path will be easier to walk."

Waving his long sword to cut through the thorns blocking the way, Wang Chen defended his mistake.

Hearing his words, Situ Yu pouted.

Heh!

Pfft!

Men's words are deceitful ghosts!

That's exactly what you said yesterday, and yet today we still haven't walked out of this area.

Thinking this, Situ Yu's gaze toward Wang Chen became even more menacing.

However...

Just as she was about to tell this detestable guy that she wasn't so easy to fool.

A black shadow suddenly darted out from the weeds and thorns, ferociously pouncing toward Wang Chen.

The speed of this black shadow was extremely fast, slamming directly into Wang Chen's chest.

With a bang!

The next second, Wang Chen's body flew backward.

And where he had been standing, a leopard appeared that was two meters long, half a person's height, and covered in fur as black as ink.

A level 30 wild monster, Shadow Leopard!

"Wang Chen!"

Seeing this, Situ Yu exclaimed and hurriedly drew her bow to attack the Shadow Leopard, wanting to attract its attention.

However.

The suddenly appearing Shadow Leopard easily dodged the arrows and didn't care about Situ Yu at all; instead, it used all four legs to give chase toward the sent-flying Wang Chen.
