606: misfortune

A rich scent of blood.

It spread across the peak of the mountain.

When the gigantic wind blades dissipated, only Wang Chen and the White Bone Magic Wizard standing beside the altar remained on the entire mountain peak.

“Now it’s just you.”

“Tell me, how do you want to die?”

Stepping over the corpses of the dead White Bone Magic Warriors, Wang Chen walked towards the White Bone Magic Wizard.

He spoke at this moment merely out of his own twisted amusement.

He didn't expect to get a response from the White Bone Magic Wizard.

But…

“Hum…an, you dare…to ascend the sacred…mountain peak, and even kill the Dominator’s servants? Do you wish to be utterly annihilated?”

A hoarse voice came from the White Bone Magic Wizard, initially somewhat broken, but becoming smoother as he continued to speak.

“Immortality still isn't enough for you? As expected, Humans are the Incarnation of greed!”

His scarlet eyes locked onto Wang Chen, and he spoke incomprehensible words.

“Sacred mountain peak?”

“Dominator?”

“Immortality?”

Wang Chen stopped, looking at the White Bone Magic Wizard with a strange expression.

What the other party said made him feel as if he had stumbled upon something extraordinary.

Dominator?

Was he referring to a demonic creature Dominator whose strength was equivalent to a Human Race Wang-level expert, or a Dominator-level expert who could traverse the All Heavens and Myriad Realms?

Immortality, when could Humans achieve immortality?

Even Wang-level experts, and even higher-level experts, had a limit to their Lifespan.

Even stars, with Lifespans measured in billions, could not be called immortal.

“What are you?”

“And what is the Dominator you speak of?”

Frowning at the White Bone Magic Wizard, Wang Chen asked impolitely.

“Hehehe!”

The White Bone Magic Wizard let out a strange laugh, a sound as unpleasant as nails scraping across glass.

“The Dominator is naturally the great and supreme Venerable Lord, and as for me, I am His servant who shepherds you lowly races for the Dominator.”

“Hehehe!”

“Laugh you… paralysis!”

Wang Chen cut off the White Bone Magic Wizard’s legs with a single sword stroke, frowning at the fellow.

“This young master doesn’t want to hear you play tricks. You’d better speak clearly, otherwise I don’t mind carving a few flowers on you!”

He tapped the White Bone Magic Wizard’s wound with his sword blade, his tone somewhat impatient.

Such riddle-speakers were the most annoying.

“Hehehe!”

“What can’t you guys, who don’t accept fate, do?”

“But it’s tragic, your fate cannot be changed at all!”

The White Bone Magic Wizard’s laughter continued, the pain of his severed legs seemingly having no effect on him whatsoever.

He looked at Wang Chen, his eyes filled with deep mockery and amusement.

It was as if he was watching an ant trying to topple an elephant.

“Damn it!”

That gaze inexplicably ignited a surge of anger in Wang Chen’s heart.

Swish! Swish!!

He cut off both of the White Bone Magic Wizard’s arms with two sword strokes.

“Stop being so Yin and Yang with me here. Whether fate can be changed is not for you to decide.”

“Answer my question, what exactly are you and that so-called Dominator?”

With his sword tip pressed against the White Bone Magic Wizard’s throat, Wang Chen asked in a cold tone.

“You’ll know very soon.”

The White Bone Magic Wizard showed no fear, instead, a strange smile appeared on his face.

As his voice fell, he thrust his head forward, and the sword tip, which was originally against his throat, directly pierced through it.

Just like that, the White Bone Magic Wizard looked at Wang Chen with a strange smile, then died.

“Damn it!”

Upon seeing that smile, Wang Chen felt a chill in his heart.

He pulled out his longsword and took a step back, his face fluctuating between clear and overcast.

A Six-Turn class change quest, even if it was Hell difficulty.

For him, completing it should have been as easy as picking something out of his pocket.

But the current direction…

Made him increasingly confused.

When did demonic creatures learn to commit suicide?

Moreover, the 185-level White Bone Magic Wizard was even smarter than the demonic creature kings he encountered in the Huiguang World.

“Damn it!”

“What the Hell is this quest?”

Wang Chen would rather fight a demonic creature king than get entangled with such strange fellows.

But unfortunately, he currently had no way to withdraw.

Once a class change quest was accepted, there were only two outcomes: successfully completing the quest and changing class, or dying during the quest.

Withdrawing midway?

That option simply didn't exist.

“Purify? Purify!”

“I’ve eliminated all these White Bone Demons, and there’s still no quest progress notification.”

“Do I really have to search this entire quest space?”

Standing amidst the piles of White Bone Demon corpses, Wang Chen felt a sense of urgency.

Even though he hadn't explored the entire quest space yet, he could confirm that none of the demonic creatures present posed a threat to him.

Danger was non-existent!

However, there was another very important problem.

If he kept failing to find the target for the purification quest, he would be trapped here forever.

“No.”

“I must have overlooked something.”

Suppressing the urgency in his heart, Wang Chen decided to review everything he had experienced since entering the quest space.

However…

Whoosh!

Just then, he suddenly heard a faint sound of water.

“Hmm?”

This situation immediately put Wang Chen on alert.

He was currently standing at the peak of the mountain, thousands of meters above the ground, so where could the sound of water be coming from?

Moreover, when he arrived at the mountain, he had already observed that there were no waterfalls or similar features around.

“This is?”

Suddenly, his gaze swept across the ground, and his expression became extremely solemn.

He saw the shattered corpses of the White Bone Magic Warriors twisting under some unknown force, and their blood was being squeezed out.

This squeezed-out blood soaked the ground at the mountain peak, and also caused some patterns on the ground to emerge.

They were extremely complex demonic patterns, and of a style Wang Chen had never seen before.

The blood flowed along the patterns of the demonic script, and finally…

Wang Chen suddenly looked up at the blue stone altar in the center of the mountain peak.

Earlier.

When he arrived here, he hadn't noticed any unusual information on the altar, so he hadn't paid attention to its existence.

But at this moment, the blood flowing from the demonic patterns all gathered at the base of the altar.

Moreover, this blood, defying all common sense, slowly spread upwards along the patterns on the surface of the blue stone altar.

Causing the blue stone altar to gradually be enveloped in blood, emitting an eerie power.

“This is?”

Sensing this aura, Wang Chen was startled and, with a thought, took out a box from his spatial ring and opened it.

This box was precisely the one he used to hold the irregularly shaped crystal extracted from the hearts of the three Nightmare Demons.

Earlier, he had discovered that within this irregularly shaped crystal, in addition to the extremely dense dark power, there was also a peculiar strand of power whose attributes he could not discern.

And now, he was astonished to find that the power emanating from the altar was exactly the same as that strand of power within the crystal.
