551: Gold Diggers' Panic
"Gentlemen."
"Our situation looks very bad right now!"
Seven lone Gold Diggers walked through the palace, wary of each other, when a Bearded man suddenly spoke:
"There's nothing in here, only these bare pillars. When those guys outside come in later, we won't be able to explain ourselves."
"What do you mean?"
As soon as the Bearded man finished speaking, a thin man not far from him asked coldly.
The conversation between the two immediately attracted the attention of the others.
"Isn't the meaning very obvious!"
Seeing everyone's eyes on him, with some even showing vigilance, the Bearded man shrugged indifferently.
"There's nothing in the entire palace, and we were the first to enter. What do you think, when those few behind us come in and see this situation, will they think we took everything?"
"There's no other exit here now. Even if we stick together, we can probably only contend with one side."
The Bearded man's gaze swept over everyone, and he asked chillingly:
"What do you say, if they want to check our spatial equipment, do we comply? Or not?"
Hearing him, the other six lone Gold Diggers fell silent.
The Bearded man had been direct enough; if they still didn't understand, they would truly be fools.
Just as he said, they would likely be in a dilemma.
If they handed over their spatial equipment, the accumulated items inside would likely be lost. If they didn't, their lives might be lost.
For a moment, several people's expressions turned anxious.
However, at this moment, the thin man who had previously spoken to the Bearded man suddenly said:
"Since you've raised this question, you probably already have a countermeasure in mind."
Though it was a question, his tone was full of certainty.
"Of course."
The Bearded man nodded, saying frankly:
"I have a one-time magic array diagram that can temporarily gather our strength. With the power of the seven of us, we can unleash power exceeding the seventh-tier."
"However, this magic array diagram cost me a great deal to obtain. If we truly need to use it, you all wouldn't let me bear the loss alone, would you?"
His words slightly eased the expressions on everyone's faces.
"I understand what you mean. If things truly escalate to that point, as long as we escape, I will compensate you for some of your losses."
The thin man was the first to state his position, then, as if afraid the Bearded man wouldn't believe him, he continued:
"I can sign a magic contract with you."
Hearing him, the others exchanged glances and also voiced their agreement.
Seeing this, the Bearded man felt a little relieved.
He directly took out a standard magic contract, modified some clauses, signed his name, and then passed it to everyone in turn.
Soon.
After confirming there were no issues with the contract, as the last person wrote their name, the magic contract returned to the Bearded man's hand.
"Then from now on, we are allies. I don't ask for everyone to work together wholeheartedly, but at least there should be no internal strife."
Putting away the contract, the Bearded man looked at everyone with sincere eyes.
However, regarding his words, everyone was noncommittal, and the thin man said impolitely:
"This contract is merely a guarantee between us; it doesn't mean you can command us after signing it."
"Our immediate priority is to find the treasures within this palace."
As he spoke, the thin man immediately began searching among the surrounding ruins, and the others quickly followed suit.
Seeing this, the Bearded man smiled indifferently, a fleeting, almost imperceptible chill flashing in his eyes.
But, he quickly concealed it.
He pointed out the potential crisis they faced and informed them about his magic array diagram, not just for the sake of banding together.
"I wonder how far Young Master has progressed. If he hasn't found it yet, I can't stall for much longer."
The Bearded man thought worriedly, and also began searching among the ruins.
But compared to the meticulous search of the others, he seemed quite nonchalant.
However, this was normal.
The Bearded man had already entered this palace before, and many of the items inside were still in his spatial equipment.
He knew very well that even if everyone dug three feet deep, they wouldn't find anything in this palace.
Unless...
"Come quickly!"
Just then, the thin man suddenly shouted:
"There's something here."
He stood in the center of the palace, continuously picking up and setting aside pieces of rubble.
By the time everyone gathered around, the thin man had already cleared an area.
In the cleared area, there was a dark, two-meter-diameter hole.
The hole seemed to swallow light; looking into it from the outside, there was only pure, extreme blackness, no other colors could be seen at all, let alone the internal situation of the hole.
"Where does this hole lead?"
"I can't detect anything inside. Could it be connected to an unknown demiplane?"
"But how is that possible? The interior of this palace can basically be considered a demiplane. To connect with another demiplane, that's simply impossible!"
Everyone used their various methods to investigate the situation of the hole. Not long after, an old man in a magic robe exclaimed, his face full of disbelief.
Demiplanes can be seen as appendages of a world, maintaining their spatial stability by absorbing the world's Origin power.
These demiplanes vary in size; the smallest might not even be able to contain a normal person, while the largest can reach tens of thousands of square kilometers.
According to records, the Divine Kingdoms of the gods in the Huiguang World were built within large demiplanes.
Moreover, whether small or large, all demiplanes exist independently, with absolutely no interconnections.
After all, demiplanes lack the support of Law power and only maintain stability by relying on the world's Origin. Once two demiplanes come into contact, there is only one outcome...
The stable structure suddenly loses balance, and then explodes like fireworks.
In the era when the gods of the Huiguang World were still active, the demiplanes that constituted their respective Divine Kingdoms could be said to be the gods' "nuclear weapons," their strongest trump cards.
"So, the place we are in now is about to explode?"
The others also realized the seriousness of the situation at this point and subconsciously retreated a few steps away from the hole.
A demiplane explosion, even the smallest kind, would cause spatial tremors.
And given the current size of the palace, if it truly exploded, the entire Godfall Land outside would probably be blown sky high.
