309: Killing in the Woods

Boom!

Thunder rumbled in the distant sky, creating a deafening roar.

The calm sky churned like a vast ocean, with crisscrossing Qi currents resembling monstrous waves.

"Holy crap!"

"Just what kind of terrifying experts are fighting?"

Standing on a branch of a large tree, Wang Chen stared at the terrifying scene in the distance, dumbfounded.

Even from a great distance, he sensed a strange, inexplicable aura in the surrounding air, making him feel an immense, subtle pressure.

Besides that, the aftershocks from the battle in the distance even made the tree beneath his feet tremble.

"Little Bat!"

"Your true Vampire form still isn't fully refined!"

Just then, a muffled voice resounded like a clap of thunder.

At the same time, in Wang Chen's line of sight, a colossal hand appeared in the distant sky, pressing something down towards the ground with an overwhelming force.

The next second.

Boom!

A massive mushroom cloud, over several hundred meters in diameter, slowly rose into the air.

"Damn it!"

"Does it have to be this exaggerated?"

Seeing this scene, all the hairs on Wang Chen's body stood on end, and he began to tremble uncontrollably.

This was not fear, but a natural bodily reaction when facing power beyond one's comprehension.

"Damn it!"

"Little Bat?"

"Could it be that the Vampires have already arrived at the Eternal Forest? And the one fighting him is a Senior of my Human Race?"

Pondering silently, Wang Chen jumped down from the tree.

This news was a mixed bag for him.

The Vampires would never send only one expert to pursue him; besides the Vampire fighting the unknown Human Race Senior in the distance, there must be other Vampires lurking in the forest.

"I must be extremely careful from now on. If I'm discovered by the Vampires, I'll probably be dead for sure."

Glancing at the commotion in the distance, Wang Chen began to move, his actions becoming increasingly cautious.

...

...

Within the forest, ghostly figures darted swiftly, searching every corner within their sight.

"Damn it!"

"Where in the world is that accursed Human Race brat hiding?"

Turning his head to glance at the sky in the distance, where powerful fluctuations still echoed, the Vampire Viscount Tamo couldn't help but grit his teeth.

Now, he was filled with immense fear.

Although he hadn't received definite news yet, the Prince-level battle fluctuations in the distance clearly indicated that Princess Manna was already engaged in a bitter struggle with a Racial King of the Human Race.

Their operation had failed halfway, right from the start.

"Captain, should we retreat now?"

"The Racial King of the Human Race has already arrived at the Eternal Forest, and Human Race legions will surely follow."

"Now, Princess Manna, even with the airship, is no match for this Racial King of the Human Race. If we remain in the Eternal Forest, I'm afraid..."

While Viscount Tamo was gritting his teeth, his Vampire Soldier subordinates couldn't help but speak in alarm.

As members of the Vampire elite legion, these Vampire Soldiers shouldn't have been so dispirited, but Princess Manna was not their direct superior.

If they died fighting for Princess Manna, they would gain no recognition.

"All of you, shut the hell up!"

Hearing his subordinates' words, Viscount Tamo's face turned grim as he roared.

"Retreat? Where do we retreat to now?"

"The edge of the Eternal Forest is probably already surrounded by the Human Race legions. If we go out now, we'll be walking straight into a trap!"

"It's better to remain in the Eternal Forest and use the terrain here to fight them."

His gaze coldly swept over his subordinates, Tamo's tone was incredibly indifferent:

"Continue searching for Wang Chen's whereabouts. The battle outside won't end anytime soon."

"Moreover, with a Racial King of the Human Race dispatched, Princess Manna must have already received the news. As long as we wait for Princess Manna to arrive, victory will still be ours."

"Understood!" The ten Vampire Soldiers exchanged glances, then nodded in unison.

Just then...

Tap, tap, tap!

Viscount Tamo's ears twitched, suddenly hearing faint footsteps in the forest.

"Attention, everyone! Enemy!"

Viscount Tamo's expression changed, and he quickly turned to look in the direction of the sound.

Soon, he saw a slender Human male, holding two daggers, step out from behind the shadows of the trees, exuding a cold killing intent.

"You... are quite loyal. Your leading Prince is almost beaten to death, yet you still dare to remain in the Eternal Forest."

Looking at the ten-man Vampire squad standing ready before him, the male's lips curled into a bloodthirsty smile:

"It seems my list of merits will be extended because of you few."

Human Race Fifth-Tier Assassin?!

Viscount Tamo's face turned cold as he looked at the Human male who suddenly appeared.

He never expected to encounter a Fifth-Tier Human Race Assassin in the Eternal Forest, and judging by the opponent's attire, he was definitely from a Human Race legion.

However...

"Damn Human Race!"

"You don't think you alone are a match for our entire squad, do you?"

Viscount Tamo stared at the approaching Human male, a cold killing intent on his face:

"Attack together, let's deal with..."

Before he could finish speaking, Viscount Tamo's pupils suddenly constricted. A figure leaped out from the shadows, and a cold, gleaming blade rapidly enlarged before his eyes.

Meanwhile, his ten subordinates were also ambushed at the same time.

"Damn it!"

The intense sense of danger almost made Viscount Tamo's heart stop beating.

"Disperse!"

Viscount Tamo roared, his bat wings, pressed against his back, suddenly spread and flapped, and his body rapidly flew into the sky.

But as soon as he ascended three meters, his body involuntarily trembled.

A dagger, like a phantom, appeared from behind him, heavily piercing his heart. Its sharp tip even protruded from his chest.

"This...?"

Viscount Tamo lowered his head in disbelief, a hint of despair flashing in his eyes as he looked at his chest.

"Idiot!"

"I was already prepared for that move!"

As Viscount Tamo's body heavily fell to the ground, the slender male from before appeared beside him, shaking the blood from his dagger.

"You..."

Viscount Tamo half-knelt on the ground in a sorry state, blood continuously gushing from his chest and mouth. He looked at the male beside him, his eyes filled with utter despair.

In a single exchange, his blood core was destroyed by the opponent. This was definitely not an ordinary Fifth-Tier Assassin!

"???"

Just then, Viscount Tamo saw a pattern on the male's sleeve, and his eyes suddenly widened.

"Gale...?"

He tried his best to see clearly, but the power within his body was rapidly draining away.

"Send the signal! This is a trap targeting us!"
