243: The mysterious city of Tokugawa

Qin Shilei first flew towards Dechuan City, which was the closest to him, but when he reached his destination, the rain had already stopped and the sky had cleared.

He had no choice but to turn and fly towards Dechuan City.

He kept descending into the towns below to identify his location, then adjusted his direction, flying for nearly two hours before arriving near Dechuan City.

From a distance, he could hear loud thunderous roars coming from ahead.

He plunged into the rain curtain, landing on the rooftop of a tall building.

After releasing two Shadow Leopards to guard him, Qin Shilei began to comprehend by drawing in lightning.

After more than half an hour, the heavy rain did not stop, and Qin Shilei's vital energy was less than one-tenth remaining.

For safety, he stopped his comprehension and found a room inside the building to restore his vital energy.

When he returned to the rooftop, he found that the rain had become lighter, but the thunder had stopped.

No matter how he used his lightning ability, he could not draw in a single trace of natural lightning again.

"Forget it, I'll go kill some zombies first and cultivate when the thunder starts again."

Qin Shilei had no choice but to turn and go downstairs.

However, when he walked out of the building, he realized that this city was somewhat peculiar.

As far as the eye could see, it was lush and green, with towering trees everywhere, and even the concrete ground was covered with various vines.

If he hadn't just come out of a building, he would have almost thought he had entered a primeval forest.

When he first entered Dechuan City, he was only focused on drawing lightning for cultivation and didn't pay attention to the ground conditions, which had become dim due to the heavy rain.

Even though he already knew this city was somewhat peculiar, Qin Shilei, being bold due to his high skill, still walked forward.

Walking in the dim jungle, although he didn't find any danger, for some reason, Qin Shilei always felt an inexplicable unease in his heart.

It was as if some unseen danger was hidden deep within the jungle, staring fixedly at him.

Qin Shilei waved his hand, releasing two Shadow Leopards.

In this dim jungle, the two Shadow Leopards were like fish in water, instantly concealing their figures and guarding him on both sides.

Whoosh!

Just then, several intense whooshing sounds rang out, and several sharp limbs stabbed down towards Qin Shilei's head.

Although those limbs were incredibly fast, they could not do anything to Qin Shilei, who was already prepared.

He dodged to the side with a flash.

At the same time, the two Shadow Leopards also silently attacked the enemy.

But just as they leaped, a large net suddenly descended from the sky, instantly enveloping the two Shadow Leopards.

Qin Shilei looked up and saw a giant spider, six or seven meters tall, dragging its web, preparing to bring the two Shadow Leopards to its mouth.

The spider web was incredibly tough; even the Silver Realm Shadow Leopards could not break free for a moment, and they were about to be dragged into the big spider's mouth and eaten.

Lightning Chain Slash!

Qin Shilei flashed, instantly closing in on the spider's head in mid-air, and his Blood Soul in his hand transformed into streaks of red light, striking forward.

However, this giant spider was clearly not weak in strength; it quickly raised its two sharp long legs to block in front of its head.

Clang, clang, clang!

A metallic sound rang out; the big spider's two long legs were struck ten times consecutively, directly severed and falling to the ground.

Qin Shilei, who had fallen from mid-air due to exhaustion, suddenly discovered a large net being sprayed towards him from the big spider's lower abdomen.

He used instant movement not only to avoid the spider web's attack but also to appear above the big spider's head.

Lightning Chain Slash!

Qin Shilei once again used the ultimate move from Thunderous Nine Heavens.

The big spider had no idea that Qin Shilei would suddenly appear above its head, and after taking the first sword, its tragic fate was sealed.

Ten consecutive sword strikes accurately hit the same spot on the big spider's neck, and its massive head was instantly severed and fell to the ground.

Boom!

The big spider's huge corpse also fell heavily to the ground.

Qin Shilei first rescued the two Shadow Leopards caught in the spider web before turning to collect his spoils.

Just then, a series of rapid footsteps suddenly came from ahead.

Then, seven or eight men and women ran out of the woods.

"Run, there are spider monsters."

One of the women, wearing green leather armor, shouted a warning as she ran.

It was then that Qin Shilei noticed five large spiders, four to five meters tall, chasing after those people.

Qin Shilei flashed and ran towards those large spiders.

"Are you scared silly? Run this way!" The woman shouted again.

"Liu Hui, if someone wants to die, why stop them? We can just use them to block the big spiders for a bit," a middle-aged man with a pockmarked face reprimanded.

But before they could run ten meters, they suddenly heard several spider screams from behind them.

The woman couldn't help but be curious and looked back.

She was so shocked that she stopped in her tracks, staring blankly as Qin Shilei struck the last large spider dead with a single sword.

"No need to run, the big spiders are all dead."

"What?" Jiang Shudie's companions looked back in disbelief, only then realizing that the big spiders were indeed dead.

"Thank you, Senior, for saving our lives." Several people bowed in thanks simultaneously.

"You're welcome." Qin Shilei asked with a smile, "Are you survivors of this city? Can you tell me about this city?"

The first big spider he killed was a Silver Realm exotic beast, and the harvest was quite good. However, the subsequent five big spiders were only Bronze Realm.

He wanted to ask them if it was worth staying in this city to kill exotic beasts.

"Senior, did you just enter our Dechuan City?" Jiang Shudie exclaimed.

"Exactly, I just arrived in this city today," Qin Shilei replied.

"Alas!" Jiang Shudie sighed softly, "Senior, you're in trouble. You're going to be trapped in this city like us."

"It's not far from the city boundary, so how can I be trapped?" Qin Shilei questioned.

Jiang Shudie explained, "The entire city is sealed by an invisible barrier, only allowing entry but no exit. Although it's not far from the city boundary, we simply cannot get out."

"Such a thing exists?"

Qin Shilei didn't quite believe that this place could trap him.

He waved his hand, released his pet Little Strong, then jumped onto its back and flew out towards the city's exterior.

As he approached the city's edge, Qin Shilei seemed to pass through a thin film.

After a moment of disorientation, he found himself and Little Strong appearing again in the sky above the city, several hundred meters away from the city's edge.

"Little Strong, fly up," Qin Shilei instructed.

Little Strong flapped its wings, flying diagonally upwards into the sky.

Another moment of disorientation, and they appeared again about a hundred meters above the city.

Qin Shilei tried several more times, and without exception, once he left the city's range, he would be instantly pulled back into the city.

Even if he used instant movement, he couldn't leave this city.
