5: Sword Mastery
Upon arriving at a new dorm room, Qin Shilei watched An Qian head to the bathroom with her treasure armor, then pulled out the green crystal for Sword Mastery.
Sword Mastery (Green): It Seals the experience of a Sword Skill master, allowing you to quickly master the techniques of Sword-type weapons.
"Do you want to refresh the entries?"
"Refresh."
One blue, one green, and one red halo appeared on the crystal.
Off-Hand Sword (Blue): When a Sword-type weapon is thrown, its attack power is doubled.
Ambidexterity (Green): Both hands can simultaneously use Sword-type weapons, multiplying their power.
Sword Intent (Red): There is a one percent chance of imbuing Sword Intent when performing Sword techniques.
Qin Shilei was very satisfied with this refresh.
Off-Hand Sword had very limited usability, so he skipped it. Ambidexterity was a good entry, but unfortunately, he didn't have two Swords for now.
Sword Intent clearly looked like a high-end item, and Qin Shilei chose this entry without hesitation.
After adding the entry, the green crystal transformed into a green-and-red ribbon that surged into Qin Shilei's body.
Immediately, a small figure appeared in Qin Shilei's mind, demonstrating Sword Skill.
As the small figure demonstrated, the various mysteries of Sword Skill were absorbed by Qin Shilei one by one.
A trace of Sword Intent emerged in his body, and the entire dorm room was filled with a chilling, murderous aura.
Qin Shilei opened his eyes, and the sharp blade in his hand swung forward in a fluid motion.
The sharp blade effortlessly sliced through the chair in front, as easily as cutting tofu.
He struck again, and although he still split another chair in half, it was noticeably more difficult.
It must have been that the first strike happened to be imbued with Sword Intent, increasing his attack power by at least thirty percent, which made it so easy.
Hang, slide, thrust, parry, stab, cleave...
Qin Shilei casually tried a few moves and felt incredibly fluid.
He wielded the Seven Star Sword in his hand as if it were an extension of his arm.
Just like a Swordsman who had practiced for over ten years.
Compared to himself just ten minutes ago, wildly hacking with the Sword, it was a world of difference.
An Qian also came out, dressed in her silkworm treasure armor.
She was still as graceful as ever, her beautiful figure completely unaffected.
The silkworm treasure armor was just a very thin upper body inner armor, worn inside like a vest, yet it could protect the chest and abdomen very well.
Qin Shilei suggested, "Let's rest for a bit and familiarize ourselves with the game interface."
"Okay," An Qian nodded in agreement.
Regional Chat Interface.
A number 9318 was displayed behind it.
This should be a chat channel composed of ten thousand people.
Since this place was located in Ancheng University, most of the people above were students from Ancheng University.
The missing six hundred-plus people should have died.
"You actually have to dig out Zombie crystals from the Zombie's head yourself. Bad review!"
"Big shot, looking for a team. I specialize in digging out crystals."
"Someone save me, please! I'm in a locker in the swimming pool changing room."
"I'm from Ancheng University, male dorm building 3. Any teams?"
"Our class beauty, with a clear voice and soft body, seeking a big shot to lead."
"Food, mineral water, weapons exchanged for crystals. Tiancheng's Small Shop awaits your visit."
The last message from Xu Tiancheng caught Qin Shilei's attention.
Qin Shilei clicked on the trade interface.
A prompt immediately popped up: Trading is free for three days. After three days, each transaction will incur a minimum fee of 1 trade coin (one basic crystal can be exchanged for one trade coin).
There was actually a handling fee.
It reeked of a pay-to-win mobile game.
A one-trade-coin handling fee, many people probably wouldn't want to use this trading system.
The only good news was: there was a three-day free period.
Currently, there were tens of thousands of pages of items for sale, which should be more than the ten thousand people in the chat channel.
A pack of tissues for a bottle of mineral water.
Original-scented underwear for a bottle of water and a loaf of bread.
A thick wooden stick (arm-sized) for three crystals.
A ten-meter long rope for food and water.
An electric scooter for some food.
The variety was dazzling, everything imaginable.
However, most items were requested in exchange for food and water, with a small number only accepting crystals.
Qin Shilei searched for Tiancheng's Small Shop and was redirected to an interface with five items.
Two kitchen knives, each requiring three crystals.
A 150ml bottle of mineral water, each bottle requiring one crystal.
Two packs of instant noodles, each pack also requiring one crystal.
Could it be that this Xu Tiancheng happened to be in a convenience store without Zombies?
What a lucky guy.
He was also a very discerning person, knowing to exchange these much-needed items for crystals, and then convert them into his own strength.
Qin Shilei was not currently lacking food or weapons.
He had just found two bags of potato chips, a pack of biscuits, a pack of instant noodles, and an unopened bottle of mineral water in the dorm.
Girls' dorms usually had some snacks; he could get them by killing the Zombies inside.
However, just eating what they had would eventually run out, so they still needed to stock up on food.
This apocalypse likely wouldn't end in the short term.
Qin Shilei looked up and asked, "An Qian, where is there a convenience store nearby?"
An Qian pointed outside the door, "There's a convenience store on the first floor of the building in front."
Qin Shilei suggested, "Later, we'll go there and get some food and other supplies."
An Qian nodded in agreement, "Okay, we'll clear out the threatening Zombies first, then go."
Killing the Zombies in the corridors and below the dorms would not only prevent being attacked from both sides but also allow them to absorb crystals and become stronger.
Qin Shilei, of course, supported An Qian's suggestion.
He tore open the potato chips, ate two, then offered them to her.
He unscrewed the mineral water bottle, gulped down more than half, and then offered it to her as well.
"Go ahead and drink; my mouth didn't touch the bottle opening."
Seeing An Qian not taking it, Qin Shilei grinned and explained.
An Qian swallowed the potato chips with difficulty and snorted softly:
"You have no virtue of 'ladies first' whatsoever."
"Are you really not taking it? Then I'll put it away."
Seeing that she didn't take it, Qin Shilei put the mineral water into his spatial ring.
An Qian glared at him, then huffily opened the door and went out first.
"I still don't believe I won't find a bottle of water later."
Their current goal was the convenience store, so they no longer knocked on the doors of the closed dorm rooms.
They arrived at the stairwell.
Qin Shilei threw the small cosmetic bottle in his hand towards the fourth floor.
Thump, thump, thump.
The sound of the cosmetic bottle hitting the ground attracted the Zombies on the fourth floor to the stairwell.
Qin Shilei peeked his head out and saw seven or eight Zombies, but none seemed particularly special.
They could fight.
The two stood at the stairwell, waiting for the Zombies to rush up.
The stairs were narrow, allowing only two Zombies to pass at a time.
Just right, one for each of them.
Qin Shilei, with Sword Mastery, was a completely different person compared to before.
Fast, ruthless, accurate.
Both of them attacked simultaneously, but Qin Shilei was a fraction faster than An Qian, precisely chopping off the Zombie's head.
Then, he delivered a flying kick, sending the headless Zombie flying into the several Zombies behind it, disrupting their attack rhythm.
Taking advantage of the terrain and relying on their sharp Swords, in less than twenty seconds,
The two of them had cleanly slain all seven Zombies.
Qin Shilei swung his Sword more than ten times, but he still hadn't found any strike that was imbued with Sword Intent.
"Let's go, be careful, there might still be Zombies."
Qin Shilei led the way.
Upon reaching the fourth-floor stairwell, they indeed saw three Zombies rushing from the innermost dorm room.
"They are my classmates."
An Qian's voice was somewhat choked.
Their class's female dorms were five rooms on the fourth floor and one on the fifth, which was why she hadn't encountered her classmates on the fifth floor.
"They've already turned into Zombies."
Qin Shilei glanced at An Qian, thinking, "This girl wouldn't be so brainless as to say she wants to let them go, would she?"
