6: Chapter 6 The Junior Schoolboy is So Cute

Wen Shuyang rubbed her forehead, "That definitely won't work. We need to stockpile at least a year's worth of food to give everyone time to upgrade. We also need cold weapons; otherwise, once our Supernatural ability is exhausted, we can only wait for death, wuwu."

Xu Wanning stepped inside, "Let's go, let's go in and take a look first."

This shop was hidden in a small alley, with an antique, classical style, looking like the territory of some hidden sect or family.

Upon opening the door, it wasn't a shop inside, but a stone path. At the end of the stone path was another identical door.

On both sides of the stone path were flower beds. Since it was just the beginning of spring, they were empty and barren.

Wen Shuyang gripped Xu Wanning's arm tightly, "Ningning, are we really going inside?"

Xu Wanning patted her hand, "Don't be afraid. The more hidden a place like this is, the better the things inside are. I suspect the items here aren't just for show, but are the real deal that can actually be used."

Lu Zhiyu gripped Song Yunqing's hand, "I saw this place on a forum too. They said the stuff is very good, just a bit pricey, and they added 'those who know, know' at the end."

Now she knew why those last four words were added; it turns out this place sells the real deal.

The group walked to the other door. There was no sign, just two pitch-black doors with thresholds showing the marks of time.

Lu Zhiyu stepped forward and pushed the door open. A crisp, metallic scent of rust rushed towards them, and inside was the actual shop.

The shop lights were dim. The four walls were covered with all kinds of cold weapons, from daggers to spears, from Tang swords to crossbows. Every piece hung there quietly, yet it was impossible to ignore them.

A young man sat behind the counter, wiping the tip of a spear. He didn't even look up, saying, "Feel free to look around."

Xu Wanning walked towards the wall. How could these things just be looked at casually? Every single one of them deserved to be properly appreciated.

She walked past step by step, her gaze sweeping slowly over the weapons, her fingertips occasionally brushing over a pattern. Her movements were very light, so as not to cause offense.

Wen Shuyang and Song Yunqing had already crowded in front of a red Tang sword that gleamed with a cold light. Beautiful, absolutely beautiful—they couldn't look away.

Wen Shuyang excitedly shook Song Yunqing, "Oh my god, this is so good-looking. If I held this, I'd definitely be as cool as a female warrior from ancient times."

Song Yunqing nodded in understanding, "Mm-hmm."

Lu Zhiyu, on the other hand, stopped in front of a Wanyue bow, her eyes fixed on it.

After about fifteen minutes, Xu Wanning walked to the counter and tapped lightly on the glass surface, "Boss."

The boy looked up and realized that the four people who had come over were girls. The girl in front of him was breathtakingly beautiful, making it impossible to look away—it was actually the school beauty of their university, "School Beauty Xu, what, what would you like?"

He didn't have classes today and had been dragged by his grandfather to watch the shop. He had been a bit reluctant before, but now he really wanted to thank his grandfather. Coming here was the right choice—he actually got to talk to the school beauty.

"You know me?" Xu Wanning tried hard to recall. The boy's face was somewhat familiar, but she couldn't remember where she had seen him. After all, three years had passed.

The boy wiped his hands on his pants and reached out, "I'm from the freshman Computer Science department. My name is Zhou Ke."

Xu Wanning was stunned, then reached out and shook his hand, "Hello."

She finally remembered him. Zhou Ke, the Metal Ability expert after The Apocalypse. When she saw him during The Apocalypse, he had a deep scar on his face that ran diagonally across it, and he wore an eyepatch over one eye.

No one knew what he had been through before, only that he was always alone, didn't trust anyone, and was very resistant to others getting close to him.

The Apocalypse was coming, and building a powerful team was very important. Zhou Ke had to be included.

"School Beauty, which one do you like? I, I'll give it to you." After withdrawing his hand, Zhou Ke unconsciously grabbed his white t-shirt to wipe his sweat.

Lu Zhiyu and the others gathered around.

Wen Shuyang asked teasingly, "Our Ningning is really charming. We're her best friends, can you give us one too?"

Zhou Ke flushed red in confusion, "I, I, these are my grandfather's things, I..."

He had intended to pay out of his own pocket to buy it for the school beauty. If he really gave it away for free, his grandfather would kill him. He didn't have much living allowance left; if he gave them all away, he'd have to survive on water afterward.

"Haha." Wen Shuyang laughed, "Just teasing you. The junior is so cute."

Zhou Ke's face turned even redder. He had long heard that the seniors in School Beauty Xu's dorm were all very pretty, and it was actually true. Their styles were completely different, but they were all very pretty.

However, the school beauty was still the prettiest.

Xu Wanning spoke up to rescue Zhou Ke, "The ones hanging on the wall, the ones on the shelves, and the ones in the storage room—I'm buying them all."

She placed her bank card on the glass counter and pushed it towards Zhou Ke. Weapons were extremely important in the early stages, and since they had no connections, getting hold of firearms was almost impossible.

Before zombies upgraded to level three, cold weapons could handle them, so they had to be bought.

The shop suddenly went quiet.

The bow in Lu Zhiyu's hand almost fell to the ground. Wen Shuyang turned her head abruptly, and Song Yunqing opened her mouth, but couldn't say anything.

Zhou Ke's nervously rubbing hands froze, seeming to think he had misheard, "You, what did you say?"

"I said, I'm taking it all." Xu Wanning said, enunciating each word.

Zhou Ke panicked and pulled out his phone, "I, I'll call my grandfather and have him come over. But School Beauty, the things here aren't cheap; it'll cost at least 200,000."

Xu Wanning nodded, "Mm, I know." With things this good, it would be strange if they were cheap. 200,000 was an understatement.

While Zhou Ke was calling his grandfather, Xu Wanning walked over to the Tang sword she had first taken a fancy to. The blade was engraved with blue patterns. In her past life, Lu Chengyue had used a Tang sword just like this one.

Three minutes later, an old man walked in from the back door. He wasn't tall, but possessed a powerful aura, and was holding a sword in his hand. His gaze landed precisely on Xu Wanning, "Young lady, are you the one who wants to buy all the weapons here?"

"Mm." Xu Wanning smiled and met his gaze without any hesitation.

"Reason?" The old man asked.

"I like them." Xu Wanning smiled even wider. Besides saying she liked them, what else could she say?

"Just that?" The old man was stunned, clearly not expecting to hear such an answer.

Xu Wanning's eyes curved into crescents, "I have a flaw; when I like something, I want to possess all of it. I like every single weapon here, so, I'm taking them all."

The air went quiet again.

Zhou Ke handed the card from the counter to the old man, "Grandpa, the senior gave me her card, can you give her a discount?"

The old man looked at his grandson with disdain. Useless. The young lady was indeed very pretty, but how could she possibly have a crush on him? He had no self-awareness at all, really.

When his gaze turned back to Xu Wanning, he immediately put on a smile, "There are forty-seven pieces hanging on the wall, thirty-five pieces on the shelves, and thirty-two pieces in the storage room."

He sat down at the counter and wrote out the bill, "It's 270,000 in total. Young lady, are you sure you want them?"
