80: Chapter 80 You All Go to Die

"Are you done yet?" She stood in front of Wen Shuyang, shielding Wen Shuyang and Lu Zhiyu behind her.

Chen Lei and Zhao Kai quickly stood on both sides of her to prevent any surprise attacks.

Xu Wanning was about the same height as that tattooed young man, but her aura was different; she had experienced The Apocalypse and had just killed a zombie.

She had a handgun on her outer thigh, and a dagger that hadn't been wiped clean tucked at her waist; the blade was still stained with green blood. Holding a golden longsword, everything about her signaled that she was not to be trifled with.

"Everyone, back off." Xu Wanning spoke up.

The people opposite her instinctively took half a step back.

The curly-haired woman was the first to react. She didn't dare to make a move on Xu Wanning, but her verbal assault didn't diminish in the slightest. "You're their leader, right? Your subordinate killed my dad. Tell me, how are we going to resolve this?"

Xu Wanning was expressionless. "I don't know which one you're calling your dad, but we only kill zombies. If we didn't take action, it would eventually run out and bite people, and maybe the next person it bites would be you."

"You're lying!" the curly-haired woman screamed. "He wouldn't bite me! I'm his daughter, he wouldn't bite me!"

Xu Wanning sighed inwardly; it was truly identical to what she had heard in her previous life, not even a single line changed.

Xu Wanning looked the woman straight in the eye. "If that's the case, I can resurrect it right now and lock you two together. Why don't you try for yourself and see if you can survive? How about that?"

"Or, if any of the rest of you want to try, I can help you with that too. I have the Supernatural ability to resurrect zombies. Want to give it a try?"

She opened her palm, appearing ready to unleash her Supernatural ability at any moment. If you're going to lie, you have to make it convincing.

Upon hearing this, the crowd looked at each other in dismay. They just wanted to extort some supplies; they didn't want to be bitten by a zombie.

Xu Wanning's face turned cold. "We risked our lives to clear out this residential complex to keep you survivors safe. You don't have to be grateful, but don't look for trouble. Otherwise, I wouldn't mind locking you up with the zombies directly."

The tattooed young man stepped forward, his face inches from Xu Wanning's, his voice extremely low, squeezed out through gritted teeth.

"Stop trying to scare us, you damn bitch. I'm just asking you: did you kill my uncle's family? If so, there needs to be an explanation. If you won't give us one, we'll take it ourselves."

As soon as he finished speaking, he suddenly reached out to snatch the sword from Xu Wanning's hand.

Xu Wanning's reaction was more than a beat faster than his. The moment the tattooed young man's fingers touched the hilt, she grabbed his wrist with her right hand, twisted it backward, and simultaneously drove her knee into his abdomen.

The tattooed young man let out a muffled groan, his entire body curling up like a shrimp.

Xu Wanning took the opportunity to push him forward. He stumbled back three or four steps, his back hitting the unit door before he slid down, clutching his stomach and dry heaving.

"Still want to snatch it?" Xu Wanning looked at him as if looking at a dead man.

The tattooed young man leaned against the door, gasping for air, his eyes glaring fixedly at her. His mouth twitched, but he didn't make a sound.

After the crowd watched for a while, the curly-haired woman suddenly let out a shrill scream. She wasn't speaking, just howling, filled with dissatisfaction, fear, and grievance, as she lunged at Xu Wanning while wailing.

Xu Wanning sidestepped to avoid her. The woman lunged into empty air and fell to the ground, her knees hitting the floor tiles, and she wailed even louder. "This is too much bullying!"

Her cry seemed to flip a switch, and the remaining six people all charged forward together.

The woman holding the baby reached out and shoved Wen Shuyang, making her stagger. Wen Shuyang was pushed into the wall, hitting her head, and was left dazed.

Before she could even stand up, the woman holding the baby shoved the child into her arms and screamed, "If you won't give me formula, then you're responsible for raising the child."

Wen Shuyang caught the baby in a panic. The infant's crying made her ears ring. She had never held such a small child before; her hands were stiff, and her expression was one of fear.

An old woman, who looked to be over 60, grabbed a mop leaning against the wall and smashed it onto Zhao Kai's back. The mop head flew off, and the wooden handle snapped in two.

The old woman kept swinging the half-handle while crying and shouting, "You all go to hell, go to hell! You killed people and still won't admit it."

"Damn it! You bunch of idiots!"

Xu Yu kicked the old woman to the ground, Zhou Ke reached out and pinned the woman to the floor, and Chen Lei kicked the middle-aged man who was lunging at him flying.

Xu Wanning wasn't idle either; she kicked the remaining two people, sending them flying, but they still kept rushing forward even after being kicked.

When they should have been dealing with zombies, all their energy was spent dealing with people. If they had this much energy, wouldn't it be better to go out and kill zombies?!

Everyone was shouting, everyone was moving. Seven or eight voices erupted at once—crying, cursing, demands for supplies, accusations of murder, and the heart-wrenching wails of the baby.

The sounds mixed together; no one could hear clearly what anyone else was saying, and no one was listening to anyone either.

Everyone was just shouting their own words, as if the louder and more boisterous their voice was, the more right they were.

Right in the midst of this chaotic uproar, the tattooed young man quietly stood up. Hugging the wall and clutching his still-aching stomach, he crept step by step around the back of the crowd.

No one was paying attention to him. He circled to the other end of the corridor, where Qin Qingru, Lu Zhiyu, and Wen Shuyang, who had just come down, were standing.

The Tattooed Man suddenly reached out, grabbed Qin Qingru by the back of her collar, and pushed her forward with all his might.

Qin Qingru was completely caught off guard. She was sent flying, stumbling forward three or four steps before crashing directly into the chaotic crowd.

A female zombie suddenly walked in from outside the unit door, wearing a school uniform and looking about fifteen or sixteen years old.

There was a patch of dark red blood on her clothes—it was unclear if it was from being bitten or if she had vomited it herself—and her hair, matted into clumps by blood clots, clung to her face.

Presumably attracted by the commotion here, she moved over excitedly, swaying as she approached, her mouth emitting a low, gurgling growl.

She lunged straight at Qin Qingru, who had just been pushed over by the Tattooed Man.

By the time Qin Qingru turned around, it was too late. She saw a wide-open mouth biting toward her arm. The moment the upper and lower teeth struck, there was a dull click. The teeth pierced through her jacket, inner layer, skin, and muscle, embedding deeply into her forearm. The intense pain forced a short, sharp scream from her.

"Second Aunt!" Xu Wanning whipped out her dagger and plunged it into the zombie's temple. Green blood sprayed out, splattering onto the faces of the crowd. Only then did they quiet down, scrambling up the stairs in a panic and watching from the landing.

Xu Wanning stabbed it two more times, and the zombie's teeth loosened, its entire body going limp.

A clear row of teeth marks was left on Qin Qingru's arm, the flesh at the edges curled back. Fresh blood gushed from the bitten blood vessels, dripping down along her fingers, drop by drop.

"Look at the good work you've done!" Xu Yu turned around and slapped the Tattooed Man across the face.
