65: Chapter 65 Then don't hold back!
Xu Wanning stood still, watching him run toward her, curbing the impulse to rush over to him.
The gate slowly opened. The two stood facing each other with the gate between them, their gazes meeting in the air, sparks flying.
The gate finally opened, and Lu Chengyue rushed over, staring at her. His breathing was heavy, the dust on his face rising and falling with it.
Xu Wanning reached out and used her fingers to wipe the dust off his face. "You're dirty."
After wiping away the dust, she didn't pull her hand back. Instead, she slid her fingers along his cheekbone to his jaw, and then to behind his ear.
The skin behind his ear was very thin; she could see the blue vein pulsing, beating extremely fast.
Lu Chengyue grabbed her hand, his own trembling slightly, his voice tight. "Ningning, do you know what you're doing?"
The emotions in his eyes were overflowing. If this weren't the entrance to the Fire Station, he definitely wouldn't have been able to control himself.
"I know. Playing with fire." She was being deliberate. She was doing it on purpose right at the entrance of the Fire Station, a place where he absolutely had to exercise restraint. She hadn't seen him for a few days, and she just wanted to tease him.
The restraint in Lu Chengyue's eyes shattered inch by inch, spreading from the center outward, silently. "Ningning." His voice was trembling.
"Hmm." Xu Wanning replied in a soft, sweet voice.
Lu Chengyue's Adam's apple bobbed. "I want to kiss you."
"Then kiss me." Xu Wanning leaned forward, even standing on her tiptoes, smiling like a flower.
Lu Chengyue glanced at Li Jingran, who was watching the commotion not far away, and then thought of the group of comrades on the drill ground. "Not here. There are surveillance cameras, and people."
Xu Wanning nodded obediently. "I know."
Lu Chengyue was about to be driven mad by her. "Then why did you tell me to kiss you?"
Xu Wanning didn't admit it. "I meant that if you want to kiss me, you can, but I didn't say you had to do it here." She had no intention of putting on a show in front of others.
Lu Chengyue took a deep breath, took her hand, and walked inside, quickly heading into the equipment room.
He closed the door, locked it, turned around, and pressed her against the door panel. He propped one hand up beside her ear, and with his other hand, trembling, he cupped her face.
Lu Chengyue's breathing was rapid, his chest heaving violently, and something in his eyes was released, like a beast out of a cage.
He lowered his head, pressing his forehead against hers. "Ningning, I've held back for a long time. I've been holding back until I'm about to go crazy."
Xu Wanning wrapped her arms around his neck. "Then don't hold back."
Lu Chengyue's reason completely snapped, and he suddenly captured her lips.
His lips were a bit dry but very soft. He kissed clumsily, without technique, without rhythm; he just pressed his lips against hers and stayed still, just like their first kiss in their previous life.
Xu Wanning's eyes curved into crescents. She slightly opened her mouth, took his lower lip into it, and gave it a gentle bite.
Lu Chengyue jolted. He tightened the hand propped beside her ear, ran his fingers into her hair, and deepened the kiss.
He tentatively traced the shape of her lips with the tip of his tongue, thinking clumsily yet earnestly about what to do next.
His hand slid from her hair to the back of her neck, his scorching palm applying slight pressure to lift her head, allowing his lips to find a better angle.
As for kissing skills, men always seem to be like this—improving rapidly, frantically plundering her breath, and invading the space in her mouth.
His breathing grew heavier, and the heaving of his chest became more intense.
"Mmm~~~" Xu Wanning let out a very small sound. Just now, she really felt like she was suffocating; her legs went weak, her waist went soft, and she had no strength left.
Hearing the sound, Lu Chengyue pulled back suddenly as if electrocuted, bumping into the table behind him. The water cup on the table tipped over, spilling water all over the table.
Lu Chengyue panted heavily, looking at Xu Wanning. His pupils were deep and dark. The desire, restraint, panic, and infatuation in his eyes were all swirled together, showing absolutely no sign of receding.
"I'm sorry." It took him a long time to speak, his voice completely hoarse. "I was too forceful. You have no idea how much I like you."
Xu Wanning leaned against the door panel, her lips still tingling. "It's okay."
He stood up and walked over, his thumb rubbing against her lips, his body trembling slightly. "Does it hurt?"
Xu Wanning shook her head. "It doesn't hurt."
Confirming she was truly okay, Lu Chengyue turned around abruptly, propping his hands on the table, his knuckles turning white. "Ningning, go outside for a moment."
"Hmm?" Xu Wanning knew what was wrong with him, but she pretended not to.
"I need to calm down." His voice was muffled, and he didn't dare turn around to look at her at all.
Xu Wanning snickered. She walked behind him, reached out, hugged him from behind, wrapped her arms around his waist, and pressed her face against his back.
Lu Chengyue's entire body went rigid, like a fully drawn bow, ready to release at any moment. "Ningning."
His voice trembled. Even though he knew she was doing it on purpose, he couldn't bear to scold her and could only plead for mercy.
Xu Wanning knew that was enough, so she let go of him. "I'll head out first. Call me when you're done." After saying this, she opened the door and left, leaning against the side of the gate, waiting silently.
After more than ten minutes, Lu Chengyue finally came out. He looked much better, except for his ear tips which were still a bit red. "Ningning, I'm sorry. I was too nervous and didn't do well. Next time, next time I will definitely..."
Xu Wanning laughed. "What do you want to do next time?"
Lu Chengyue's hands gripped the seams of his trousers tightly. "Next time, I will definitely kiss you properly." He reached out and gently wiped the corner of Xu Wanning's mouth, where there were still traces of his kiss.
She leaned in on purpose to tease him. "How do you 'kiss properly'? Do you need to look up information and study?"
Lu Chengyue wiped his nose in embarrassment. "I already studied. I watched three TV drama clips and even looked at tutorials with text and pictures. But, in the end, I still didn't do well."
Xu Wanning couldn't suppress the corners of her mouth from turning up. She reached out and cupped his face. "A-Yue, you are too cute."
Her mind was filled with images of Lu Chengyue secretly studying, looking out for his roommates so they wouldn't discover him—so cute.
"Don't call me cute." Lu Chengyue couldn't accept that word being used on a rugged guy like him.
"Cute, cute, cute." Xu Wanning said it three times in a row. She couldn't help it; she genuinely thought he was cute.
Lu Chengyue raised his hand and covered her mouth. "Stop saying it." His palm was very large, completely covering half of her face, leaving only her eyes exposed.
A vulnerability! Xu Wanning stuck out the tip of her tongue and licked his palm.
"You!" Lu Chengyue retracted his hand as if burned, a deep red color spreading to his neck, and even extending to his collarbone.
Xu Wanning wore an expression that said, "What can you do about it?"
Lu Chengyue took a deep breath and pulled her into his arms. There was no restraint, no sense of propriety, no distance. The hand around her waist applied slight pressure. "You, you can't run away now."
His face was buried in the crook of her neck, his lips pressed against her skin. When he spoke, his lips rubbed against her neck, one touch after another.
Xu Wanning felt very ticklish. She wanted to dodge, but she couldn't. "A-Yue, don't."
Lu Chengyue didn't listen. He kept kissing her, one touch after another—warm, soft, very light, and very hot. It was as if he had suddenly found a good way to deal with her.
His breathing slowly grew rapid, and desire showed signs of making a comeback.
Xu Wanning pushed him gently. "A-Yue, we're still outside."
