111: Long time no see, An Qingyu!

Inside the Peacekeeping Bureau, Chen Muye had already arranged the tasks.

He sent Wu Xiangnan, Hong Ying, Wen Qimo, and Leng Xuan all out on patrol.

Only he and Lin Qi Ye remained.

Chen Muye took Lin Qi Ye into the car. After closing the door, the car started.

“Captain, aren’t we going to monitor the streets?” Lin Qi Ye asked.

“Before that, we need to go to a place first.”

“Where to?”

“The morgue!” Chen Muye said slowly, “We’ve already looked at the data. The only things left at the scene are the bodies and the wrecked vehicles. You’re meticulous, so let’s go take a look.”

Lin Qi Ye sat in the passenger seat and said, “Captain, my eyelid has been twitching lately. I vaguely feel like something is about to happen.”

“Haha, Lin Qi Ye, maybe you’ve been too stressed lately. Isn’t Calamity Raven doing well?” Chen Muye comforted him.

“Yes, logically, I shouldn’t have this kind of worry,” Lin Qi Ye said, then hesitated.

Soon, Chen Muye brought Lin Qi Ye to the police station.

After Chen Muye made a phone call, a middle-aged police officer soon walked out of the office building.

“Oh, Captain Chen, we’ve troubled you this time.”

“Li Ju, not at all. Our work complements each other.” After speaking, Chen Muye introduced Lin Qi Ye,

“Lin Qi Ye, this is Director Li Donglai of Cangnan City. You can call him Li Ju, just like me.”

Lin Qi Ye was stunned. Hearing this name, he subconsciously thought of Li Yifei. His father was originally also in this System.

“Oh! You still remember your former classmate Li Yifei, right? Counting it, Li Ju is actually his distant granduncle,” Chen Muye reminded him.

“Oh? This is Li Yifei’s classmate?” Director Li was a bit surprised, then a sad expression appeared on his face, “What a pity, that child left too soon.”

Li Donglai didn’t know the truth of the whole matter. He thought Li Yifei was killed in that terrorist incident, and his cousin, Li Yifei’s father Li Tongwei, also sacrificed himself in that incident.

Lin Qi Ye nodded blankly, never expecting Li Yifei’s Family to be so powerful!

He was a genuine second-generation heir, but unfortunately, now he was the head of the nursing staff in his mental hospital.

“Forget it, let’s not talk about these things. I’ve already arranged for people to look at those wrecked vehicles; there’s nothing there. But these bodies are a bit different.”

Li Ju’s words caught the attention of Chen Muye and Lin Qi Ye.

What could be different about the bodies?

Led by Li Ju, they quickly arrived at the morgue.

“Come in!”

After putting on their protective suits, several people walked into the morgue.

Bodies were laid out on the tables. Although there were many, they hadn’t yet notified the Family members for identification.

“Look!”

Li Ju walked to a body, “Their ten fingers are missing. They were fine when they were first put into the morgue.”

Chen Muye and Lin Qi Ye frowned in unison.

They had noticed it earlier: most of the bodies had a smooth cut on both hands, and all ten of their fingers had been cut off.

“We don’t know what’s going on. This matter is still being kept confidential.”

Chen Muye’s expression was solemn, “Can we examine them closely?”

“You can!”

After getting Li Ju’s permission, he and Lin Qi Ye began to carefully examine the bodies.

Three hours later, several people walked out of the morgue.

Li Ju anxiously asked, “How is it? Captain Chen, are there any clues?”

“Hmm, not yet. We need to go back and compare the data. I’ll contact you immediately if there’s any progress,” Chen Muye said.

“Then I’ll leave it to you.”

After Lin Qi Ye and Chen Muye bid farewell to Li Ju, they got into the car.

“Captain, what do you think? Don’t you think this scene is a bit familiar?” Lin Qi Ye asked.

“Are you talking about the sacrifice?” Chen Muye retorted.

“Exactly. This has many similarities to Song Zhong’s previous actions.”

“But, those Song Zhong hunted before were all Mysterious beings, and even if they weren’t Mysterious, they were humans who had Awakened a Forbidden Territory. To some extent, they could also be considered Mysterious.”

Chen Muye’s forehead furrowed into a “Chuan” character. Although the form was very similar, he didn’t think Song Zhong would do such a thing. This time, all the deceased were ordinary people.

“I know. Perhaps someone is doing something similar, and according to Li Ju’s previous description, these bodies still had their fingers intact when they were first placed in the morgue.”

Lin Qi Ye continued, “But after being stored for not long, their fingers disappeared.”

Chen Muye immediately understood, “Are you talking about the Secret Thief?”

“Exactly, the behavior pattern is too similar; I can’t help but suspect it,” Lin Qi Ye sighed, “It can now be concluded that there is definitely a Mysterious shadow behind the serial car accident case.”

“But how do we find them?”

The car was moving at a steady speed on the road when suddenly, a heavy truck rushed out from an intersection on the side, and Chen Muye and his team had just arrived at this intersection…

Song Zhong was eating at a construction site eatery.

The main target customers here were the workers, so cheap, hearty, and generous portions were their advantage.

As for the environment here, it was certainly not that hygienic.

Not far away, six or seven trash cans were lined up, already filled with garbage and rotten vegetable leaves.

While eating, Song Zhong noticed a gray mouse near the trash cans.

Mice running around in broad daylight were uncommon.

As soon as that mouse appeared, it caught Song Zhong’s attention. He could feel a faint Mental Energy fluctuation emanating from its body.

That fluctuation was very subtle; even people from the Chuan Realm might not be able to detect anything unusual about those mice.

Unfortunately, these things couldn’t escape Song Zhong’s notice.

A cunning smile appeared on Song Zhong’s lips. Immediately after, a drop of water flew from a puddle not far from the mouse and landed on its body.

The water droplet was so small that the mouse didn’t notice it. After gnawing on some vegetable leaves for a while, it ran into the sewer.

In a space within the sewer, An Qingyu was dissecting a piece of Mysterious corpse.

He carefully placed the fleshy tissue into a formalin container. After doing all this, he sat on a stool and let out a long breath.

“Finally finished,” he muttered to himself. Suddenly, a muffled sound came from directly above his head.

After An Qingyu had modified his body, his hearing was exceptionally sharp.

He frowned, “What’s going on? Another car accident? The frequency of car accidents recently is a bit unusual!”

At this moment, mice came one by one, lining up beside An Qingyu. An Qingyu checked them one by one, “Hmm, the fifth-generation fish species are still stable, good.”

The checked mice left on their own. Just as a gray mouse was about to be checked, a water droplet on its body suddenly burst open.

After the water droplet scattered into the air, it actually transformed into dots of fluorescent light.

Then, those fluorescent lights formed a human figure.

Song Zhong appeared before An Qingyu.

“Heh heh, long time no see, Scholar God An Qingyu!”
