281: The Nine Pillars of God are coming!

Outside Xuehan Pass, a blanket of white snow stretched endlessly.

As the northernmost A-grade war pass of the Great Xia, it was nestled among a range of ice-bound mountains.

Summer here lasted only a short month; for the rest of the year, endless bitter cold and frozen plains were the dominant theme.

Due to the extremely harsh environment, the number of Night Watchers stationed here was the fewest compared to other war passes.

However, the average Realm of the Night Watchers here was the highest.

Guan Zai, wearing a thick military overcoat and holding a thermos, stood on the city wall of the pass.

He gazed at the boundless, grayish-white mist, his face filled with worry.

Just then, a brilliant Sword Qi streaked across the sky.

Guan Zai's eyes lit up; the second Human Ceiling had finally arrived.

Zhou Ping slowly descended beside Guan Zai and said with a smile, “It seems I’m not too late.”

“Haha, actually, now that you’re here, I feel much more at ease,” Guan Zai said, in a good mood.

As the two were conversing happily, a Night Watcher hurried up the city wall.

“Captain Guan, Commander Ye and the other two Ceilings have arrived.”

“Good, I understand.” Guan Zai listened, then smiled at Zhou Ping and said, “You truly are my lucky general; as soon as you arrived, they all came.”

After speaking, Guan Zai led Zhou Ping down from the city wall and into the combat conference room.

Ye Fan and the others were waiting in the conference room.

Seeing Guan Zai and Zhou Ping enter, Ye Fan laughed heartily, “Captain Guan, this time, the few of us are entirely at your command.”

“Enough, Ye Fan, stop teasing me. Oh, right, where’s the special squad?” Guan Zai asked.

“I dispatched them to other passes. Once traces of external Mysterious are found, we and they can instantly transfer via the [Beacon Towers] on the passes.”

The [Beacon Towers] were spatial forbidden items developed by the Night Watchers over several generations. Their sole function was to facilitate large-scale troop movements between war passes.

Twelve [Beacon Towers] were interconnected, forming a massive teleportation Dao array to protect the Great Xia.

As long as all twelve war passes were not simultaneously attacked, the Night Watchers could quickly adjust their forces for support.

Of course, this method was very effective against external Mysterious incursions.

But if a God arrived, it would essentially be meaningless.

The Master picked up his teacup and took a sip of hot tea. “This place is truly too cold; this old body of mine can’t quite handle it.”

“It’s fine; once the fighting starts, you won’t feel cold anymore,” Guan Zai said with a smile.

No sooner had he spoken than the tea table in the conference room suddenly began to vibrate.

Crack!

The teacup slid off the tilted table and fell to the ground.

Instantly, the alarm at Xuehan Pass blared.

The wailing alarm echoed through the mountains, lingering endlessly.

“You jinx!” the Master couldn't help but retort.

Guan Zai gave an awkward smile. “What’s meant to come will always come. Let’s go out and see.”

At this moment, the Night Watchers stationed at Xuehan Pass were all stunned by the scene before them.

A brilliant golden light, like a sharp sword, pierced through the mist, illuminating the mountains.

At the same time, the ancient glaciers, accumulated on the mountaintops for millennia and never melting, actually began to gradually thaw.

As the mountains continuously shook, glaciers fractured, and meltwater surged.

If not for this being an uninhabited area, this commotion alone would have caused countless deaths.

A gap opened in the distant mist, and countless external Mysterious poured through it, charging towards Xuehan Pass.

Above the tide-like Mysterious, four figures stood in the air.

They were the four Nine Pillar Gods from Sun City.

Nut, the God of Sky, looked at the vast white snow below and exclaimed excitedly, “The Origin power of Sun God is indeed overwhelmingly powerful; just a little residual Divine Might has melted these millennia-old glaciers.”

“Strange, why haven’t any Gods of Great Xia appeared?” Geb, the God of Earth, asked.

“It seems the Gods of Great Xia are indeed putting on a brave front; they probably haven’t fully awakened from Reincarnation,” Aisis, the God of Life, analyzed.

“Everyone, don’t forget our mission this time,” Tefnut, the God of Rain, reminded the other three Nine Pillar Gods.

Nut was somewhat displeased. “Tefnut, since there’s no sign of Osiris or Shu anyway, why don’t we play with these Great Xia humans for a bit first!”

A trace of fanaticism also appeared in the eyes of Aisis and Geb.

Tefnut sighed, implicitly assenting.

Seeing that Tefnut said nothing, Nut laughed heartily, “Ants of Great Xia, today I shall let you witness the Divine Might of Sun City.”

Nut spread his arms, and a brilliant blue light erupted from his eyes.

A ethereal Law power burst forth from his body.

In an instant, all the Night Watchers in Xuehan Pass suddenly felt the world spin.

They were clearly standing on the ground, yet their bodies strangely felt a sense of weightlessness.

Two seconds later, a Night Watcher suddenly shrieked, “My… my body is falling towards the sky!”

His words were nonsensical; how could a person fall towards the sky?

But before others could refute, they felt their own bodies also enveloped by a strange sense of weightlessness.

A group of Night Watchers began to fly towards the sky, their speed increasing, looking as if they were falling off a cliff.

Guan Zai watched the Night Watchers flying into the sky and immediately used his ability to place an order on Lu Wuwei’s phone.

“Ding-ding, you have a new delivery order!”

Lu Wuwei, riding his electric scooter, took out his phone and smiled slightly upon seeing the order information.

Immediately after, his electric scooter miraculously drove into the sky, and in his hands, several small yellow ducks with propellers appeared.

It was unclear what method Lu Wuwei used, but those small yellow ducks accurately flew to the top of each Night Watcher’s head.

Then, the propellers began to work frantically, and the originally falling Night Watchers immediately stabilized their bodies, beginning to slowly descend towards the ground.

Nut, seeing this method for the first time, showed a hint of curiosity on his face.

“Interesting, is this the Human Ceiling of Great Xia? What a pity, no matter how strong you are, you can only go this far.”

No sooner had Nut finished speaking than a streak of Sword Qi instantly flew towards his neck.

This Sword Qi was too fast; although Nut sensed the attack, his body’s movements were half a beat too slow.

Whoosh!

A spray of blood splattered from Nut’s neck.

That Sword Qi had cut his skin.

Nut was greatly alarmed, followed by boundless fury. His gaze fixed intently on Zhou Ping,

“Human, you have successfully ignited my wrath!

I will tear you to shreds!”
