432: Return to the past king
Streaks of white Return Light power seeped into Wang Mian's heart.
Thump! Thump! Thump!
Immediately, Wang Mian's heart seemed to have been revitalized, recovering its vigor.
That heart beat powerfully, transporting the Divine Power to every part of his body.
Kronos looked at Song Zhong's methods, utterly astonished, never expecting that this Supreme God of Great Xia would possess such miraculous healing abilities.
A silver gleam flashed in his eyes, and the Law of Time slowly circulated within his pupils, allowing Kronos to clearly see the injuries within Wang Mian's body.
After seeing them, Kronos couldn't help but gasp.
Wang Mian's injuries were too severe.
On his back, several Law powers, like sharp thorns, coursed through him, completely shattering his spine; similarly, his hand bones and leg bones had also been completely severed by the Law powers moving through his body.
It seemed that if it weren't for Michael's Miracle power, Wang Mian's body would have long since collapsed, and even his Soul would have been annihilated by the Time River.
However, as Wang Mian's heart resumed beating, Kronos actually saw streaks of white light rushing towards those violent Law of Time powers.
Those Law of Time powers were surrounded by white light; they were like mad beasts, trying to break out of the white light's encirclement.
But those white lights were like a team of cunning hunters, constantly maneuvering and gradually depleting the opponent's strength.
The entire process lasted for about half an hour, and Song Zhong's Return Light power finally exhausted the Law power within Wang Mian's body.
Following that, those Return Light powers transformed into seeds, dispersing into every corner of Wang Mian's body.
Those seeds took root and sprouted within Wang Mian's body, and their intricate root Systems, like a large net, connected all the fragmented parts of Wang Mian's body back together.
Not only that, those root Systems reformed the circulatory System, replacing the previously damaged blood vessels.
"Phew!"
Song Zhong let out a long breath, wiping the sweat from his forehead, "Now, his body is saved."
Kronos knew what Song Zhong meant; he could save Wang Mian's body, but Wang Mian's biggest problem was his nearly depleted lifespan.
It was for this reason that Wang Mian's hair had turned completely white.
Even if Song Zhong used Return Light to completely repair his body, Wang Mian's hair still hadn't returned to its original color.
"It seems this isn't a coincidence, but an arrangement of the Time River," Kronos said slowly, his tone containing a sense of helpless resignation.
Having said that, Kronos also squatted down; he extended a finger, and a small ball of silver light suddenly appeared on his fingertip.
Kronos carefully placed his finger on Wang Mian's forehead.
That wisp of light immediately merged into Wang Mian's forehead and disappeared.
Immediately after, a Miracle occurred.
Wang Mian's complexion actually began to turn rosy, and a few strands of black hair appeared among his white hair.
His hair began to turn black.
"Kronos, what was that ball of light just now...?" Song Zhong asked.
"It was my lifespan; I didn't have much left anyway, so instead of wasting it, I might as well give it to a young man," Kronos said with a smile.
Song Zhong frowned, not expecting that this Time God would actually share his lifespan with Wang Mian.
What exactly was his purpose?
Kronos looked at Song Zhong's surprised expression, but he misunderstood his meaning.
He smiled slightly and said, "Don't worry, even though I'm doing this, it won't delay your entry into the Minotaur's labyrinth."
"Cough, cough, cough..."
Suddenly, Wang Mian's body reacted, and he began to cough violently.
Kronos's attention was entirely on Wang Mian at this moment; seeing Wang Mian wake up, he quickly helped Wang Mian sit up.
"Cough, cough... Ugh!"
Wang Mian clutched his head and slowly opened his eyes.
Two blurry figures appeared before his eyes, too indistinct to make out clearly.
"This... Where is this?" Wang Mian asked groggily.
"This is the Time River, I am Kronos, and he is Song Zhong," Kronos said softly.
Hearing these two names, Wang Mian's spirit seemed to recover quite a bit.
The scene before his eyes gradually became clearer.
"Kronos... Song Zhong..."
Wang Mian rubbed his eyes and, indeed, found that these two were right beside him.
"This... What exactly is going on?"
Wang Mian's mind was completely muddled at this point; his memory stopped at the moment before he got lost.
He had no idea how he had returned to the shore.
Moreover, why were Song Zhong and Kronos here, and why did they save him?
Seeing Wang Mian's bewildered expression, Kronos explained the whole story.
Wang Mian's face showed expressions of shock and then daze.
He never expected the course of events to be like this.
He couldn't help but praise Michael's Miracle power, which not only sent him back after he was lost in the Time River but also arranged for Song Zhong and Kronos to save him together.
His gaze towards Song Zhong and Kronos was filled with gratitude.
"Alright, Wang Mian," Kronos asked, "What exactly happened to you in the Time River? How did you get such severe injuries?"
Hearing Kronos's question, Wang Mian's face showed a bitter smile.
"This is a long story."
Wang Mian organized his thoughts and recounted the events.
It turned out that after Wang Mian arrived at the Time River, he went against the current, searching for his past self.
Along the way, Wang Mian truly experienced the terror of the Time River.
For him, the most difficult part was not the resistance of going against the current.
Rather, it was the endless possibilities of memories and other timelines.
While going against the current, Wang Mian watched his past life played in reverse.
Scene after scene of regrets, node after node of choices he had made; when he re-examined these, feelings of regret arose spontaneously.
Coupled with the massive amount of timelines, Wang Mian saw for the first time that his life could have so many different paths.
The immense amount of information impacted his mind; if it weren't for his firm will, he would have almost flowed downstream, following the possibilities of other timelines.
If he had done that, all his previous efforts would have been in vain.
Fortunately, Wang Mian held onto his true self, and at an opportune moment, he found his past self.
Within the realm of the Past, Wang Mian found his mother in the Time River.
Looking at his mother's highly swollen abdomen, Wang Mian fell into contemplation.
