180: Osiris the Great

The scorching sun beat down, its intense heat baking cracks into the ground, while the raging sandstorms felt like red-hot branding irons, painfully lashing against one's face.

Pyramids stood tall amidst the boundless yellow sand, with 'magnificent' and 'desolate' being the two words that best described this place.

This was the Egyptian God Kingdom within the Mist, and if one looked up, they would see an ancient city-state suspended beneath the sun.

That was Sun City, the home of the Egyptian Gods.

At the center of Sun City was an immensely vast circular plaza, its ground intricately carved with countless complex and dense patterns, through which streaks of light flowed, sometimes dimming, sometimes glowing.

At the edge of the grand plaza, nine dazzling pillars of light stood majestically, and above these pillars, several tall figures were clearly visible.

These were the Nine Pillar Gods, the nine most supreme main Gods in Egyptian mythology, and one of the few God systems whose strength remained relatively intact after the descent of the Mist.

"Is there any news from Asgard and the Tian Shen Temple?" asked the indistinct figure standing atop the light pillar symbolizing the sun.

He was the highest-ranking God among the Nine Pillar Gods and the God King of the Egyptian Gods, Sun God Ra.

"There's news. Indra of the Tian Shen Temple has fallen, and Loki has fled back to Asgard, seemingly having successfully taken Shiva's Grudge," Wind God Xiu said.

Upon hearing the news of Indra's fall, the Gods on the other light pillars showed some surprise.

"Set, don't be so anxious," Osiris, the God of the Netherworld in Egypt, interjected, "Perhaps the other party is a God's Proxy? If that Mortal gained the grace of a God and temporarily lent their body to a God for use, slaying a God wouldn't be impossible."

Osiris's tone was calm as He offered His speculation.

"A God's Proxy? This plan to seize Shiva's Grudge was tacitly approved by several major system Gods. Which God would dare to openly stab us in the back?" God of the Yellow Sand Set asked.

Just as He said, this plan, on the surface, was for the foreign Gods to seize Shiva's Grudge, but in reality, it was a test by the foreign Gods against the Great Xia Gods.

Ultimately, the Great Xia Gods were the unified enemy of the foreign Gods; no God would cause trouble in this regard unless His brain was squeezed by a door frame.

"Xiu, which God's Proxy is that Mortal?"

The other Nine Pillar Gods nodded; what Osiris said made sense.
