407: Xia Simeng was drained!

Great Xia’s border, in the northwest frontier.

Ever since Egypt National Luck was swallowed by Song Zhong, the land belonging to Egypt, guided by its National Luck, had crossed the ocean and connected with Great Xia’s territory.

Therefore, to the west of the Kunlun Mountains, a vast expanse of sandy land was added, resembling a golden ocean.

Although this land currently appears somewhat barren, given enough time, it will once again burst with vitality.

Phoenix Squad was currently conducting a survey on this new continent.

Xia Simeng’s eyes were vacant, filled with a sense of utter despair, “That bastard Commander, my promised vacation is gone again, and he even sent us to the desert to do some survey. How can life be so miserable?”

Xia Simeng was like a living corporate drone now, unable to muster any spirit.

Kong Shang sighed, took out a bag of beef jerky from his backpack, “Captain, eat something first!”

Hearing there was food, a light burst forth from Xia Simeng’s lifeless eyes.

She glided over and snatched the beef jerky from Kong Shang’s hand.

“Oh, my Vice Captain is still the most considerate. There’s no fighting now, if I don’t even have snacks, how can I live?”

Xia Simeng tore open the packaging, carefully took out a piece of beef jerky, and chewed it slowly.

Supplies were scarce in the desert, so top-tier delicacies like beef jerky had to be savored.

Ling Lin watched Xia Simeng’s actions and couldn’t help but cover her eyes.

She quietly tugged at Kong Shang, whispering, “Vice Captain, if you keep spoiling the Captain like this, with our current supplies, we won’t last long.”

As the only male member of Phoenix Squad, Kong Shang was primarily responsible for the team’s logistical support, even earning the nickname “Butler.”

“No worries, I’ve almost finished organizing the survey data. Beneath this desert, an underground river has already extended. If all goes well, in about half a year, we can try to establish a scientific research station in a suitable area,” Kong Shang said.

Ever since Egypt’s territory merged with Great Xia, Zuo Qing had assigned the scientific research mission to Phoenix Squad.

The reason was simple: this continent had drifted over from overseas, and it was uncertain whether some Overseas Mysterious might have mixed in. Previously, Phoenix Squad specialized in dealing with Overseas Mysterious, so it was a perfect fit.

Initially, Xia Simeng was very excited. She had thought of coming here to find some Overseas Mysterious to fight and have some fun.

Unexpectedly, there wasn’t even a shadow of a Mysterious in this desolate desert, as if it had been filtered out.

As a result, Phoenix Squad endured wind and sun, walking through this desert for more than half a month.

Fortunately, the team members were very responsible and caught Xia Simeng several times when she tried to escape.

But now, everyone didn’t need to worry, because the mission was about to end, and this time they were truly going back.

“Burp!” Xia Simeng let out a comfortable burp.

Kong Shang saw Xia Simeng’s appearance and couldn’t help but ask, “Captain, are you finished eating?”

“Mm!” Xia Simeng nodded, “Old Kong, what’s up?”

“Now that you’ve eaten, it’s time to write the survey report!” Kong Shang’s face broke into a smile, his voice like an invigilator urging students to hand in their papers, a demonic summons.

When Xia Simeng heard the words “survey report,” her face instantly turned pale, and she lost all her spirit again. Her head tilted, and she fell directly to the ground.

Kong Shang sighed, “Captain, does your acting have to be so realistic? A survey report scares you this much? Is this still our brave and invincible Captain?”

Xia Simeng lay on the ground, unmoving, her lips twitching, wanting to speak but unable to.

Ling Lin watched Xia Simeng’s actions and couldn’t help but cover her mouth and laugh, “Captain, your acting is getting more refined! The Vice Captain was just joking, when has he ever made you write a survey report!”

After Ling Lin finished speaking, she expected Xia Simeng to spring up from the ground like a carp, but unexpectedly, Xia Simeng still lay there, with no color in her face.

Her lips trembled uncontrollably, looking like a child frozen stiff.

Kong Shang’s face changed, and he quickly shouted, “Something’s wrong, the Captain doesn’t seem to be faking it.”

Kong Shang’s words reminded everyone.

If it wasn’t faked, then it was real.

Was the Captain sick?

Everyone swarmed around Xia Simeng, immediately beginning to check her condition.

After fighting with Mysterious for so long, every squad member’s first aid skills were very high.

After a thorough examination, Ling Lin’s face was filled with an expression of disbelief, “Vice Captain, the Captain… she… she has no Mental Energy left in her body…”

“What?” Kong Shang was greatly alarmed.

The Mental Energy in the Captain’s body had disappeared?

Looking at Xia Simeng’s state just now, it indeed resembled a state of Mental Energy depletion.

But the problem was, in the vast desert, no one had attacked Xia Simeng. How could the Mental Energy in her body disappear?

Kong Shang didn’t have time to think so much and directly placed his hand on Xia Simeng’s back.

The other team members also followed suit, injecting their Mental Energy into Xia Simeng’s body.

With some replenishment, Xia Simeng’s complexion eased somewhat, and her body stopped trembling.

Kong Shang quickly took out a bottle of water, twisted open the cap, “Captain, no rush, drink some water first.”

Xia Simeng drank a small sip of water with difficulty, then, with the help of everyone, sat upright.

A trace of pain appeared in her eyes, “My Forbidden Territory was taken by Athena.”

“What?”

Upon hearing Xia Simeng’s words, the shock on everyone’s faces lingered for a long time.

Athena took Xia Simeng’s Forbidden Territory? Why? Xia Simeng was Her personally chosen God's Proxy.

“Don’t misunderstand, Athena was forced to. She was imprisoned by the gods of Olympus.”

Xia Simeng dropped another bombshell.

The Goddess of War of Olympus was actually imprisoned? What exactly was going on?

“We… must report quickly. Olympus is going to launch a war against Great Xia.

Athena, due to Her opposition, has already been imprisoned. She can only convey information this way. This matter must be told to Great Xia Gods.”

Xia Simeng used all her strength to relay the information, then fainted.

Everyone was once again shocked by this news.

Olympus was actually going to launch a war against Great Xia? And from Athena’s experience, they had already begun to act.

Kong Shang’s expression was solemn. He found a rope and tied Xia Simeng to himself.

“Phoenix Squad, listen to my command. Head to the nearest Night Watcher outpost. We must deliver this intelligence.”
