376: The Upside-Down Song Zhong

The members of the Knight Order looked at the enormous black magic circle, their faces contorted with terror.

“That’s… S-rank Black Magic, the Black Death!”

“Black Magic? Bishop Lance actually knows Black Magic?”

“Isn’t that level of Black Magic a forbidden art? Why would Bishop Lance Cultivate this kind of magic?”

The Black Death: An S-rank Black Magic. After casting the magic circle, it can spread plague viruses. Infected individuals will lose their minds and become Puppets of the caster.

The enormous magic circle enveloped the sky, slowly rotating, and an unknown black mist, like ink, emanated from within it.

“Run, don’t stay here! This is a mass spell; it doesn’t distinguish between friend and foe!” a knight screamed frantically.

Upon hearing this, those knights fled the square as if they had seen some terrifying monster.

But no matter how fast they were, they couldn't evade the horrifying magic attack.

The plague viruses drilled into the eyes, nostrils, and ears of the Knight Order members, wildly pouring into their bodies.

The infected members of the Knight Order painfully knelt on the ground, some clutching their stomachs, others holding their heads.

“No, no… ”

“My internal organs hurt so much… ”

“Bishop Lance, why are you attacking us too?”

The Knight Order members, who had been so high and mighty just moments before, now lay writhing on the ground in agony. Their muscles rapidly withered, and the light in their eyes gradually faded…

Bishop Lance watched the knights plunge into endless suffering, his heart completely unmoved.

Unable to locate the invader, Bishop Lance could only resort to this large-scale destructive magic for his attack.

The plague virus could spread everywhere. Even if the invader hid himself ever so subtly, could he evade the virus’s attack?

Moreover, even if he accidentally injured his own people, Bishop Lance could turn them into Puppets, retaining full control.

The plague virus within the magic circle seemed inexhaustible, spewing out frantically. Bishop Lance waved his staff, allowing the viruses to spread wantonly throughout the entire Human Realm.

Soon, the viruses drifted into the streets and alleys.

The commoners, unaware of the situation, still knelt on the ground in repentance, completely oblivious to the impending catastrophe.

“Cough, cough! What are those black things?” a relatively strong young man asked, covering his nose.

Others in the same “cell” also saw it: some black gas was drifting in through the window.

“I don’t know. I’ve never seen black air before.”

Suddenly, the others noticed something unusual about the man who had just spoken.

“My God, Lauren, your nose is bleeding.”

The man named Lauren wiped his nose with his hand, only to discover a large amount of black blood flowing out of his nasal cavity.

“This… what’s happening?” Lauren looked in horror at his hand, covered in black blood. His eyes were now filled with fear.

His roommates in the same “cell” all recoiled, wanting to get away from Lauren.

“Don’t come closer, Lauren, you’re sick.”

“Do you think… it might be that black smoke?”

By now, the black smoke in the room was getting thicker and thicker, and the others also started coughing.

“Wait, you’re bleeding from the nose too!”

“Cough, cough, I feel so uncomfortable. I feel like something is crawling inside my body… ”

“Ah!”

Cries of surprise and screams were incessant; in an instant, the terrifying virus had swept through the entire Human Realm.

In the church square, Bishop Lance stood quietly. The members of the Knight Order had been completely ravaged by the virus. Their eye sockets were sunken, and their entire bodies had turned a withered black.

Everyone looked like mummies, with only a thin layer of skin clinging to their bones. However, strangely, a faint blue flame flickered in the eyes of these Puppets. They stood on the ground, looking around blankly, as if waiting for someone to give them orders.

Bishop Lance waved his staff. Under his control, these Knight Puppets all picked up their longswords and came to his side, shielding Bishop Lance in the center.

“You despicable invader, let’s see how long you can hide.”

Protected by the Knight Puppets, Bishop Lance ascended to the highest point of the church. He looked down upon the entire Human Realm, seeing the infected commoners who had broken out of their confinement and were now streaming into the streets.

The commoners’ skin had also turned dark brown, and they wandered the streets like walking corpses.

Blue flames also flickered in their eyes. Bishop Lance closed his eyes and released his Mental Energy. Soon, countless images appeared in his mind.

These images covered every corner of the Human Realm. Bishop Lance had gained control over these Puppets, so he could naturally share their vision.

Bishop Lance now possessed infinite vision.

He gently tapped his staff, “Find the invader for me!”

At his command, the Puppets, like a black tide, began to search every corner of the Human Realm.

Bishop Lance breathed a sigh of relief. He refused to believe that with the combined strength of the entire Human Realm, he couldn't ferret out that invader.

Bishop Lance was currently under immense mental strain. This was the closest he had come to death in many years.

If the invader hadn't attacked Mendes just now, but had chosen him instead…

Bishop Lance felt a chill down his neck just thinking about it.

He had activated this forbidden magic out of helplessness; now, the Human Realm's most crucial function had been obliterated by him.

But there was no other way. If he didn't use this method to find the invader, he would die.

Only by finding the invader would he have a chance to explain to the Gods. At that time, with the great Divine Power of the God King, there might be a way to reverse the magic's effects, and then the Human Realm could return to normal operation.

So, at this moment, the most important thing was to find that invader. He believed the great Gods would surely understand his predicament.

Bishop Lance reassured himself over and over again in his mind.

Suddenly, a spine-chilling laugh came from above Bishop Lance’s head.

“Heh heh, you’re Bishop Lance, right? Your magic looks really good.”

Bishop Lance’s few remaining hairs stood on end. He felt a tightening in his back, as if a cold draft was swirling inside his clothes.

Damn it, this guy is fine? Are you kidding me? Can anyone really withstand the effects of this Black Magic?

In other words, if he can do this, is he still human? Could this guy… really be a God?

Bishop Lance’s heart pounded. He looked up, “You… why were you not affected by the Black Death Array?”

Song Zhong was suspended upside down in the sky, completely normal, smiling at him.
