241: The menu has changed today.

Chapter 241: Today's Menu Has Changed. The blue light curtain flickered violently as several teams of fully armed black-clad guards rushed out from within.

"Who dares to run amok in the Lighthouse!"

The leading guard captain roared, his Gauss Rifle pointing at the still-burning wreckage.

Chen Mo raised his hands and stepped out from behind the cover.

"Don't shoot."

He was covered in blood, his clothes tattered, looking like a beggar who had just crawled out of a trash heap.

But the expression on his face was calm.

Too calm to be a refugee.

"We're here to eat."

Chen Mo looked at the guard captain, a stiff smile tugging at the corners of his mouth. "I heard the chef's skills here are quite good."

The guard captain was stunned for a moment, then became furious.

"Madman! Drag these refugees out and execute them!"

Several guards rushed forward to take action.

"Wait."

Chen Mo suddenly pulled an empty test tube from his bosom.

It was the test tube White Dove had used to draw his blood, with a trace of blood still remaining on it, and... that special mark.

A silver double helix.

It was the symbol of the "Mutual Aid Society."

The guard captain's pupils contracted sharply.

He raised his hand to stop his subordinates' movements, stepped up to Chen Mo, and stared intently at the test tube.

"Where did you get that?"

"A doctor named White Dove gave it to me."

Chen Mo said indifferently, "He said that with this, I could skip the line."

The guard captain's expression changed several times.

He naturally knew who White Dove was.

That madman doctor was one of the highest-level "VIPs" of the Lighthouse, and the existence one should least provoke.

"Mr. White's... patient?"

The guard captain's tone changed; though still suspicious, his muzzle had lowered.

"Something like that."

Chen Mo tucked away the test tube. "Now, can we go in?"

The guard captain glanced at the red storm approaching in the distance.

If he didn't let these people in, once that red monster rushed over, the Lighthouse's gate wouldn't hold either.

"Search them."

The guard captain gritted his teeth and waved his hand. "Disarm them and take them to the side hall. Don't let those big shots see this filthy appearance."

Su Qingxue and Ninth Master exchanged a look, both seeing disbelief in each other's eyes.

This actually worked?

The guards roughly confiscated Su Qingxue's gun and the parts on Ninth Master's body, then escorted them through the shattered gate.

The moment they stepped through the blue light curtain.

The world outside changed.

The suffocating smell of sulfur vanished, replaced by a faint scent of incense and classical music.

The hall was magnificent, with crystal chandeliers casting a soft glow.

A group of men and women in gorgeous formal attire were holding wine glasses, talking in low voices.

They looked so elegant, so decent.

But Chen Mo smelled it.

Beneath the scent of expensive perfume, a thick... smell of blood was being masked.

Everyone here had that smell on them.

"Welcome to the Lighthouse."

An old butler in a tuxedo walked over, his gaze sweeping over the three of them before stopping on the scar on Chen Mo's chest.

He bowed slightly, revealing a standard but cold smile.

"You haven't bought tickets yet, and you want to join the table?"

Chen Mo looked into the old butler's cloudy eyes.

His heart skipped a beat.

This old man was also a monster.

"I'll make up for the tickets."

Chen Mo took a step forward, blood dripping from his pant legs onto the spotless marble floor.

Sizzle.

A puff of green smoke rose from the floor.

"I just want to ask, which table is Wang Daoming at?"

...Sizzle—

White smoke continued to rise from the marble floor.

The charred little hole looked like an open eye, staring fixedly at the crystal chandelier overhead.

The old butler didn't look at the hole, nor at the blood-stained test tube in Chen Mo's hand.

He just pulled a snow-white handkerchief from his pocket and covered his nose.

"Dear guest, your 'body fluids' have soiled the floor."

The old butler's voice was gentle, yet it carried a sharp edge of bitterness. "This is Carrara White Marble shipped from Italy; it's very difficult to clean."

The symphony in the hall stopped.

Dozens of gazes hit the three of them like spotlights.

The men and women in haute couture stopped their conversations; some held wine glasses, some held silver forks, their eyes showing no fear, only the disgust of seeing a cockroach crawl onto the dining table.

And a bit of... appetite.

Chen Mo felt it.

His heart contracted violently in his chest, and warning signals of encountering their own kind rang out frantically.

This wasn't a restaurant.

This was a beast cage.

"I'm looking for Wang Daoming."

Chen Mo repeated, taking a step forward.

His sole stepped on the smooth floor, leaving a bloody footprint.

"Crude."

A frivolous voice rang out.

Beside the nearest round table, a young man in a white suit stood up.

He was very handsome, his skin white as a wax figure, swirling half a glass of dark red liquid in his hand.

"Butler Liu, when did the threshold of the Lighthouse become so low?"

The young man walked up to Chen Mo, looking down at him. "Letting in trash with the stench of the sewers will affect my appetite."

He extended a finger, disdainfully brushing the dust off Su Qingxue's shoulder.

"But this girl is quite pretty. Once cleaned up, perhaps she can serve as a post-meal dessert."

Su Qingxue's eyes turned cold.

Before she could act, the young man suddenly laughed.

"How? Want to bite me?"

His pupils instantly turned into vertical slits, and a cold mental wave slammed into Su Qingxue's brain.

"Ugh!"

Su Qingxue let out a muffled groan, her face turning pale instantly. She felt as if an invisible giant hand was clutching her throat, her legs weakening as she was about to kneel.

That was the pressure of a high-level Mental-type Esper.

"Kneel."

The young man said softly, his tone like training a dog. "Crawl over and lick my shoes clean, and I'll let you join the table."

The surrounding guests broke into low laughter.

Some were betting on how many seconds the woman could hold out, while others were critiquing her figure.

Ninth Master was sweating profusely with anxiety, wanting to help Su Qingxue, but found himself pinned in place by that pressure, unable to move even a finger.

"Interesting."

The young man took a sip of the liquid in his glass, his gaze turning to Chen Mo, who hadn't spoken.

"As for you..."

Snap.

A hand grabbed the young man's wrist.

That hand was covered in blood and filth, dirt stuffed under the nails, and veins bulging on the back of the hand.

Chen Mo's hand.

The young man's smile froze on his face.

He tried to pull his hand back, only to find that dirty hand was like an iron clamp, unmoving.

"Let go."

The young man narrowed his eyes. "Or I'll tear your bones out one by one."

Chen Mo raised his head.

There were no pupils in those eyes, only a chaotic blackness, with two points of crimson sparks flickering deep within.

That was hunger.

Extreme hunger.

The mental pressure directed at Su Qingxue just now had been completely absorbed by Chen Mo.

Not only absorbed, but his heart was trembling with excitement because of this little "snack."

"Your blood smells very sweet."

Chen Mo spoke hoarsely.

Crack!

The crisp sound of bone breaking echoed through the hall.

"Ah!!!"

The young man's scream was cut off as soon as it left his mouth.

Chen Mo didn't use any fancy moves. While crushing the other's wrist, he took a step forward, pressed his left hand against the back of the young man's head, and slammed it down violently.

Bang!

That head, which had been so arrogant just a moment ago, slammed heavily onto the charred little hole that had been corroded.

The marble floor cracked.

Blood splattered everywhere, staining the white suit red.
