108: Chapter 109 The baby is still waiting to be fed.

Director Zhang generously booked the entire entertainment floor of the hotel. It had everything: a KTV, bowling alley, private cinema, and video game arcade. There was even a small casino and a cigar bar.

"Director Jiang, are you satisfied with this?" Director Zhang rubbed his hands together, his face full of smiles. "This floor isn't usually open to the public. I really broke the bank to book it for the night."

Jiang Jing glanced around casually and nodded faintly. "It's alright."

This nonchalant attitude made Director Zhang's heart tighten, and he quickly added, "The drinks are all top-shelf! We have..."

"That's enough." Jiang Jing interrupted him. "As long as everyone has a good time."

"Yes, yes, yes!" Director Zhang nodded repeatedly, then turned to the crowd and shouted, "My fellow classmates! Tonight's expenses are all on my tab! Everyone, enjoy yourselves!"

"Wow! Director Zhang is so generous!"

"As expected of a high-level executive at Tencent!"

"Lin Ya, your boyfriend is amazing!"

The crowd cheered, but their eyes kept darting toward Jiang Jing—everyone knew who the real big shot was tonight.

In the few minutes it took to walk from the private room to the entertainment area, Li Xue and Jiang Jing were surrounded by layers of classmates.

"Sister Xue, how do you take care of your skin? It's so good!"

"Director Jiang, do you like playing golf? I know a private course..."

"Li Xue, do you remember when I used to sign your attendance in college?"

Li Xue held onto Jiang Jing's arm, wearing a polite smile, while feeling inwardly thrilled.

Especially seeing the classmates who used to bully her now acting so servile; it felt sweeter than honey.

Lin Ya watched coldly from the side. She forced a fake smile and approached. "Xue'er, we haven't had a good chat in a long time."

She affectionately grabbed Li Xue's other arm. "I remember you loved singing in college. Shall we go to the KTV to catch up later?"

Li Xue raised an eyebrow. "Oh? Didn't you used to say my singing sounded like a duck quacking?"

Lin Ya's expression stiffened, then she smiled even more brilliantly. "Oh, that was just a joke! Your singing is actually very good!"

Once they reached the entertainment area, the group gradually dispersed to play, but no one forgot to glance toward Jiang Jing from time to time, looking for the right opportunity to curry favor.

Director Zhang followed closely by Jiang Jing's side like a diligent lackey. "Director Jiang, would you like to try bowling? I can be your caddy!"

"No need." Jiang Jing glanced at his watch. "I'm going to smoke a cigarette."

"I'll go with you! I know where the cigar room is!" Director Zhang quickly led the way.

On the other side, Lin Ya pulled Li Xue into the KTV room, and several girls immediately surrounded her.

"Sister Xue, what would you like to drink? I'll pour it for you!"

"Li Xue, is this bag the latest model? It's so pretty!"

"Xue'er, shall we sing a duet? You sing Faye Wong's songs the best!"

Li Xue enjoyed the flattery, took the microphone, and sang "Red Bean."

Her voice was indeed good, drawing rounds of applause.

Lin Ya sat in the corner, watching Li Xue being treated like a star, and quietly took out her phone to send a message: [Are they here?]

Soon, a reply came: [Already in the elevator. Proceed as planned.]

A cold smile curled the corners of Lin Ya's lips. She stood up and poured a glass of red wine.

"Xue'er," she said, walking over with the wine glass and a sweet smile. "I was wrong before. This glass is to toast you."

Li Xue looked at the liquid in front of her, then at Lin Ya's hypocritical smiling face. She didn't want to drink anything served by an enemy; who knew if something had been added to it?

(Babies, a quick side note: When you're out, don't drink anything that hasn't been within your line of sight!)

Li Xue didn't take the red wine; instead, she continued singing.

Jiang Jing returned from smoking and sat to the side, watching Li Xue belt out a song.

Since his own singing was mediocre, he couldn't be bothered to go up and embarrass himself; after all, Jiang Jing wasn't familiar with this group of people.

Inside the KTV room, Li Xue's song had just ended, and before the crowd could applaud, the door was kicked open with a loud "bang."

Everyone's gaze turned toward the door in unison. A dozen or so youths with dyed, multi-colored hair and tattooed arms swaggered in.

They had cigarettes dangling from their mouths and frivolous looks in their eyes. They looked like ruffians, clearly not good news.

At the back of the group of thugs, a brown-haired woman cast a [Mission Accomplished] look at Lin Ya before quietly disappearing into the crowd.

The atmosphere in the room instantly froze.

"Yo, quite lively, huh?" The leader of the Bald Thug was bald, wearing a thick gold chain around his neck, and chewing gum. His gaze swept across everyone's faces before finally settling on Li Xue.

He grinned, revealing a mouthful of uneven yellow teeth, and shouted with feigned surprise, "Wife? Why are you here?"

Everyone: "???"

Li Xue froze, then her expression changed drastically. "What nonsense are you spouting?!"

The Bald Thug strode forward and reached out to grab Li Xue's wrist. "Stop messing around. The kid at home is crying from hunger, and you're in the mood to sing here? Come home with me now!"

Li Xue violently stepped back, hiding behind Jiang Jing, her voice trembling with anger. "Who is your wife?! I don't know you at all!"

The classmates in the room looked at each other. Some looked confused, while others had shifty eyes, seemingly catching a whiff of gossip.

Seeing this, Lin Ya immediately covered her mouth in "surprise" and feigned innocence. "Li Xue, this... what's going on? When did you have a child?"

Her tone was full of "concern," but the schadenfreude in her eyes couldn't be hidden.

The Bald Thug heard this, widened his eyes, and pointed at Li Xue, saying "heartbrokenly," "Fine! You really do have a man on the side! I knew it, that's why you never come home—so you've been here hooking up with another pretty boy!"

The few thugs behind him also chimed in: "Sister-in-law, that's not right of you. Big Brother treats you so well!"

"Exactly, the kid is only a few months old, and you ran out to play? That's too heartless!"

"Who is this pretty boy? Could he be your new lover?"

The crowd was in an uproar. Their eyes darted back and forth between Li Xue and Jiang Jing, and whispers erupted: "No way... does Li Xue really have a kid?"

"She doesn't look like it. Her figure is so good; she doesn't look like someone who's given birth."

"Who knows? Maybe she had it secretly..."

"Doesn't that mean Jiang Jing got cheated on?"

Li Xue was trembling with rage, her eyes instantly turning red. "You're spouting nonsense! I don't know them at all!"

She turned to look at her former classmates, only to find that most of them were just watching coldly, and some even wore amused smiles, as if they were watching a good show.

If Li Xue really had betrayed Jiang Jing, it would actually be a good thing for them. After all, there were too many people who harbored the mentality of [fearing their brothers would suffer, but also fearing their brothers would succeed]. Anyway, they just needed to curry favor with Jiang Jing; who was sleeping beside him didn't matter at all...

Lin Ya, on the side, "kindly" advised, "Li Xue, if there's an issue, talk it out properly. This big brother looks quite anxious. Why don't you go back first?"

The Bald Thug saw this and became even more smug, reaching out to grab Li Xue. "Stop the nonsense, come with me!"

However, before his hand could touch Li Xue, it was firmly gripped by a slender, powerful hand.

Jiang Jing had blocked Li Xue at some point, his eyes cold as he looked at the Bald Thug. "You just said, she is your wife?"

The Bald Thug froze, then arrogantly lifted his chin. "Yeah! What about it? Who are you? Stop being a busybody!"

Jiang Jing didn't answer. He just narrowed his eyes slightly, his gaze sweeping over the thugs, then glanced at Lin Ya, who was standing to the side "watching the show." A meaningful smile slowly curled the corners of his lips. He suddenly felt that this play... was a bit familiar.
