131: Chapter 132 A Passionate Kiss

Jiang Jing's hand moved slowly up from her waist, and through the thin fabric of her dress, it precisely covered the softness of her chest.

His fingertips grazed and pinched lightly, causing Li Ruonan to stiffen instantly and let out a suppressed whimper.

The system's notification sounded in Jiang Jing's mind, but he was too preoccupied to pay attention at this moment.

"Don't..." she protested incoherently, though it sounded more like an invitation of feigned resistance.

Jiang Jing chuckled softly, momentarily sparing her lips, which were red and swollen from his kisses, and shifted his attack to her sensitive earlobe.

"You don't like it?" He took her small earlobe into his mouth and sucked on it gently, feeling satisfied as he sensed the person in his arms tremble. "But your body says otherwise."

Li Ruonan was so embarrassed she wished she could disappear.

She knew she should push him away, but her body had betrayed her reason.

Jiang Jing's kissing technique was too masterful; every time their lips and tongues intertwined, it made her dizzy, leaving her no choice but to cling weakly to his shoulders.

Li Ruonan felt her whole body go limp, almost melting into this kiss.

She responded awkwardly, and when her tongue accidentally brushed against his, it was immediately swept up and entangled.

The suggestive sounds were exceptionally clear in the quiet car, mixed with their increasingly rapid breathing.

After an unknown amount of time, Jiang Jing finally pulled back slightly, a silver thread stretching between their lips.

Li Ruonan's eyes were hazy, her lips ravaged and bright red with moisture, her chest heaving violently.

"Jiang Jing..." she called out softly in the gaps between breaths, her voice carrying a longing she hadn't even realized.

Jiang Jing's eyes darkened, and with a forceful movement of his arm, he pulled her directly onto his lap.

Li Ruonan let out a startled cry, her hands instinctively propping themselves up on his shoulders.

Because of this movement, her short skirt rode up, revealing her thighs wrapped in black silk stockings, which glistened alluringly in the dim light.

"What are you doing!" she said, embarrassed and angry.

This position brought them even closer; separated only by thin fabric, she could clearly feel the change in his body and immediately froze, not daring to move again.

"Ruonan..." Jiang Jing's voice was hoarse as he gripped the back of her neck with one hand and kissed her again.

This kiss was more intense than any before, carrying an irresistible possessiveness, as if he wanted to devour her whole.

Li Ruonan was completely lost in the kiss, her hands unconsciously wrapping around his neck as she actively deepened it.

She forgot the time, the place, and even who she was...

Jiang Jing's hand had slid from her chest to her back, skillfully unzipping her dress.

As the cool air touched her skin, Li Ruonan suddenly snapped back to reality.

Li Xue's smiling face suddenly flashed through her mind—the girl who regarded her as her best friend, the girl who trusted her without reservation.

"No... no, we can't!" Li Ruonan used all her strength to push Jiang Jing away, scrambling down from his lap in a panic, fumbling to pull her clothes straight. "We can't do this... Xue'er she..."

Jiang Jing frowned, but he didn't get angry; he just watched quietly as she tidied her disheveled clothes.

Li Ruonan's fingers were trembling violently, and she failed several times to button her collar.

"I'm sorry..." she said, head lowered, her voice barely audible. "We can't do this... Xue'er she..."

Jiang Jing took a deep breath, suppressing the restlessness in his body.

He reached out to help her button it, his movements incredibly gentle: "No need to apologize; I was too impatient."

Li Ruonan looked up, her eyes flickering with complex emotions: "You don't understand... Xue'er is my best friend, from college until now. She trusts me so much, and yet I..." Her voice choked up. "And yet here I am with you... I'm such a jerk."

Jiang Jing was silent for a moment, then reached out to wipe away the tears leaking from the corners of her eyes: "You haven't done anything wrong, Ruonan. Feelings aren't just black and white."

"But this isn't right!" Li Ruonan said excitedly, "Do you know how much Xue'er likes you? Every day she tells me about you, saying how good and gentle you are to her... and yet I..."

Li Ruonan covered her face with both hands: "Oh god, what have I done..."

"Ruonan, look at me."

Li Ruonan looked up hesitantly, meeting Jiang Jing's earnest gaze.

"I like you," Jiang Jing said candidly, "And I know you like me too. If you can't get past this mental hurdle, we can take it slow."

She looked down at their clasped hands; Jiang Jing's palm was warm and strong, making her feel inexplicably at ease.

"I don't know what to do..." she said honestly, "I like the feeling of being with you, but every time I think of Xue'er, I feel so despicable."

Jiang Jing pondered for a moment, then suddenly asked: "If Li Xue knew about our relationship, how do you think she would react?"

Li Ruonan looked up sharply: "Are you crazy? How could you let her know!"

"I'm just hypothesizing," Jiang Jing soothed, "Do you think she would hate you?"

Li Ruonan was silent for a while, then slowly shook her head: "No... she might be sad, but she wouldn't hate me..." Her voice grew quieter, "But that is exactly what I feel most guilty about."

"Give me some time," Jiang Jing stroked her long hair, "I will handle this matter; I won't make things difficult for you."

Li Ruonan didn't answer, just nodded gently in his arms.

After an unknown amount of time, Li Ruonan raised her head from Jiang Jing's chest, her eyes having regained some clarity: "I... I should go back..."

Jiang Jing released her and smiled: "Go on, call me anytime if you need anything."

Li Ruonan stood up, hesitated for a moment, then leaned down and gave Jiang Jing a light kiss on the cheek: "Thank you... for understanding me."

Jiang Jing watched her walk toward the elevator, and only after her figure disappeared behind the doors did he let out a long sigh.

"Looks like I need to think of a way to have the best of both worlds..." Jiang Jing muttered to himself.
