76: Chapter 76 Recruiting Talent
The 88th floor of the Rong City International Finance Center, Cloud Peak Restaurant.
"Mr. Jiang, everyone has arrived," Jiang Yan reminded him softly. She was wearing a sharp professional suit today, her hair pulled up meticulously, making her look capable and professional.
Jiang Jing turned and walked toward the private room. The moment he pushed the door open, the people who had been whispering immediately fell silent, and many pairs of eyes turned to look at him in unison.
Inside the private room, around a mahogany round table that could seat twenty people, sat various elite figures. Jiang Jing's gaze swept across each person's face; the information labeled by the system's "Talent Radar" corresponded one-to-one with the people in front of him.
"Thank you all for taking time out of your busy schedules to come," Jiang Jing said, taking his seat at the head of the table. His voice was steady. "I am Jiang Jing, the founder of Xingchen Technology."
Waiters began serving the food, and exquisite cold dishes and red wine were placed on the table one by one. Jiang Jing noticed that no one at the table touched their utensils; everyone's gaze was focused on him—there was scrutiny, curiosity, and undisguised skepticism.
"Before we formally discuss cooperation, I would like to hear everyone's self-introductions first."
After a brief silence, the middle-aged man sitting to Jiang Jing's right stood up first. He wore a simple white shirt, and a pair of thick black-rimmed glasses perched on the bridge of his nose. The eyes behind the lenses flashed with the focused brilliance peculiar to scholars.
"Zhang Mingyuan, 42 years old, Ph.D. in Energy Power from Qingmu University." His voice was slightly hoarse, yet it carried an unquestionable sense of authority.
"Former Chief Engineer of the National New Energy Laboratory, having led seven national energy projects." He paused, a slightly sarcastic smile pulling at the corner of his mouth. "I resigned due to academic disagreements—to put it plainly, I couldn't stand certain people treating scientific research as a political achievement project."
Jiang Jing nodded slightly. This Dr. Zhang was indeed as the data indicated—upright and unyielding, a pure research talent.
"I have long admired your reputation, Dr. Zhang," Jiang Jing said sincerely. "We are in need of scientists like you who dare to uphold the truth."
Zhang Mingyuan glanced at Jiang Jing with slight surprise, seemingly not expecting such a response from this young man, and then sat down silently.
The person who stood up immediately after was a young man wearing a dark blue suit with his hair neatly slicked back. He had a handsome face, and his every gesture exuded the composure and sharpness peculiar to elite lawyers.
"Zhang San, 35 years old, Ph.D. in Law from XX University." A faint, elusive smile hung on the corner of his mouth, and his voice was deep and pleasant. "Friends jokingly call me the 'Outlaw of the Law'—of course, all my operations are within the legal framework."
Several people at the table audibly gasped. Jiang Jing understood—this lawyer was a notorious tough character in the industry, best at finding legal loopholes and dealing with both the underworld and the establishment.
His most impressive feat was defending a client in a lawsuit while simultaneously getting the judge who was pounding the gavel sent to prison as well.
The third person to stand up was a woman, approximately thirty-seven or thirty-eight years old, wearing a well-tailored navy blue suit with short black hair neatly tucked behind her ears. She exuded an aura of authority that commanded respect without needing to be angry.
"Chen Wei, 38 years old, Ph.D. in Business Administration from Harvard Business School." Her voice was clear and powerful. "I have served as an executive for three Fortune 500 companies and am best at transforming cutting-edge technology into commercial value."
She looked directly into Jiang Jing's eyes. "I chose to leave my previous company because they would rather spend one billion on advertising than invest one hundred million in research and development."
Jiang Jing saw the sharpness and wisdom tempered by long experience in the business world in her eyes; she was a top-tier talent capable of converting technological advantages into commercial profit.
"Dr. Chen's business acumen is admirable." Jiang Jing nodded in acknowledgment. "We are in need of a business mind like yours."
Next was a young man wearing a black mask and a hooded sweatshirt, who looked completely out of place among the elites present.
He lazily raised his hand. "Wang Ye, 26 years old, never went to college." His voice came through the mask with a hint of playfulness. "But I can hack into the systems of 87 of the world's top 100 tech companies, take a tour, and come back out."
The whole room fell silent instantly. This seemingly unremarkable young man was actually a legendary hacker genius.
"I have long heard of Mr. Wang's hacking skills." Jiang Jing did not show the slightest surprise. "I heard that the data breach incident that shocked the world last year was stopped single-handedly by you?"
Wang Ye's eyes above the mask widened slightly, then he returned to his lazy state. "Just a minor skirmish."
The person who stood up next was a burly middle-aged man in a crisp, military-style suit, standing as straight as a pine tree.
"Zhao Tiejun, 45 years old, retired special forces commander." His voice sounded like steel clashing. "I specialize in security system design and crisis management and am currently a security consultant for three multinational corporations."
He looked around at everyone, his gaze like a torch. "In my dictionary, there is no such word as 'accident'."
Jiang Jing noticed the callus on the web of Zhao Tiejun's right hand, the mark left by years of handling firearms. This was a professional who could take security to the extreme.
The self-introductions continued—financial experts, materials scientists, mechanical engineers, marketing geniuses... every one of them was a top figure in their respective fields. Jiang Jing listened quietly, nodding or asking questions from time to time, showing his full understanding and respect for these talents.
When the last person sat down, the private room fell into a brief silence. These elites, who usually worked independently, were now secretly sizing each other up, wondering what Jiang Jing, this young man, intended to do by gathering them all together.
Jiang Jing stood up slowly, resting his hands on the table. "You are all top talents in your respective fields, and you must be very curious about why I have gathered such a diverse group of professionals together."
He pressed the remote control in his hand, the projection screen in the room slowly descended, and a meticulously crafted demonstration video began to play.
"The product that Xingchen Technology is about to develop will completely change the global energy landscape." Jiang Jing's voice sounded exceptionally powerful against the background audio of the video. "And all of you will become the creators of this revolution."
The video displayed the principles and prospects of the Water-powered Engine; of course, Jiang Jing hid the core technical details. Even so, the expressions of the experts present gradually changed from initial skepticism to shock.
"This... this is impossible!" Zhang Mingyuan stood up abruptly, his eyes behind his glasses wide open. "Existing technology simply cannot achieve this kind of energy conversion efficiency!"
"Dr. Zhang is right; it cannot be done with currently public technology." Jiang Jing responded calmly. "But we possess breakthrough patented technology."
Chen Wei quickly grasped the key point: "Mr. Jiang, can you guarantee the feasibility of this technology? If it is truly as the video shows, this will be the greatest energy revolution of this century."
"It is absolutely true." Jiang Jing's gaze was firm. "This is also the reason I invited you all to join—we need the best team to bring this technology to market safely and efficiently."
Everyone listened to Jiang Jing's words, feeling a bit dazed. Why did it sound so strange?
It seemed like pyramid scheme organizations often had this set of lines on their lips...
