124: Chapter 125 Stunning Mature Woman - Yan Shuyao
Jiang Jing took the coffee, his fingertips brushing against hers. "Does researching new formulas count?"
Yan Shuyao chuckled softly. "Apart from work, I mean."
"I occasionally play golf," Jiang Jing said casually. "But I've been too busy lately, so I haven't touched a golf club in a long time."
"What a coincidence, I'm a golf enthusiast too." Yan Shuyao's eyes lit up. "If you're interested, we could play a round together sometime."
Jiang Jing feigned surprise. "You have this skill too, Host Yan?"
"I was on the university team," Yan Shuyao said, raising her chin slightly with a rare hint of pride. "I even won runner-up in the Media Cup last year."
"Then I'll have to be careful." Jiang Jing winked. "Losing would be quite embarrassing, wouldn't it?"
Yan Shuyao was amused by his expression and covered her mouth as she chuckled. "Is President Jiang so lacking in confidence?"
"In front of a beautiful woman, a man is always extra mindful of his image," Jiang Jing said, half-seriously.
A faint blush appeared on Yan Shuyao's face, but she quickly regained her professional demeanor. "Then it's a date. We'll set a time after the interview."
What attracted Jiang Jing most to Yan Shuyao was her temperament—she possessed both the sharp efficiency of a media professional and the gentle charm unique to mature women, a contradictory yet harmonious blend.
Jiang Jing took the coffee handed to him by a staff member and looked Yan Shuyao over.
Up close, her skin was in incredibly good condition, with almost invisible pores. There were only a few faint laugh lines at the corners of her eyes, which actually added to her approachability.
"Have you used our 'huanyan beauty serum', Miss Yan?" Jiang Jing suddenly asked.
Yan Shuyao was slightly startled, then she smiled. "As expected, nothing escapes President Jiang's eyes. Yes, I was fortunate enough to get a bottle through a friend, and the effects are indeed amazing."
She touched her cheek. "Even our station's makeup artist asked me what skincare products I've switched to lately."
"Then you should try our internal version," Jiang Jing naturally picked up the topic. "It's five times as effective as the retail version, and the effects last longer."
Yan Shuyao's eyes lit up. "Something this good probably isn't easy to come by, is it?"
"I've always been generous with friends," Jiang Jing said meaningfully. "Especially tasteful friends like Miss Yan."
Yan Shuyao pursed her lips and smiled, the laugh lines at the corners of her eyes making her look exceptionally charming. "President Jiang is so sweet-tongued. It seems today's interview will be very exciting."
The two chatted for another twenty minutes, covering everything from the scientific principles behind the beauty serum to Xingchen Technology's corporate culture, as well as Jiang Jing's views on the current beauty market.
Yan Shuyao's questions were sharp and precise, showcasing her professionalism as a veteran financial host. Meanwhile, Jiang Jing's answers demonstrated both business intelligence and a sense of humor, making Yan Shuyao cover her mouth and laugh several times.
"President Jiang, you're much more interesting than I imagined." Yan Shuyao closed her notebook, her eyes sparkling with appreciation. "I've interviewed many entrepreneurs, and most of them are either too serious or full of empty talk. Someone like you, who has both depth and a sense of humor, is truly rare."
Jiang Jing raised his coffee cup to toast her. "That's because I'm facing a beauty like Miss Yan. Any man would try his best to be witty."
A faint blush appeared on Yan Shuyao's face, the shyness of a mature woman being particularly captivating. "President Jiang is so smooth-tongued, I wonder how many girls you've charmed."
"Can I take that as a compliment?" Jiang Jing winked.
"Of course." Yan Shuyao stood up and smoothed the hem of her suit. "It's about time. We should get ready for the official interview. Is there anything else you'd like to specify, President Jiang?"
Jiang Jing shook his head. A staff member walked over. "Sister Yan, the equipment is set up. We can start anytime."
Yan Shuyao nodded and turned to Jiang Jing. "President Jiang, are you ready?"
Jiang Jing adjusted his tie and gave a confident smile. "I'm ready for your 'interrogation' at any time, Host Yan."
Yan Shuyao was amused by him, her eyes curving into beautiful crescents. "Don't worry, my questions are very gentle."
They smiled at each other, and invisible sparks seemed to fly in the air.
"Special interview with Jiang Jing for 'Financial Figures', Scene One, action!" the director's voice rang out.
The red light on the camera lit up, and Yan Shuyao instantly entered her professional state, facing the camera with elegance and poise. "Hello, viewers. Welcome to this episode of 'Financial Figures'. Today, we have the honor of inviting Mr. Jiang Jing, the founder and CEO of Xingchen Technology..."
Jiang Jing watched the woman who had switched states in a split second, the corners of his mouth curling up unconsciously.
...
"Cut! Perfect!" The director's voice broke the silence of the recording studio. "Teacher Yan, President Jiang, this take was fantastic!"
The spotlights turned off. Jiang Jing loosened his tie and looked at Yan Shuyao opposite him.
She was looking down, organizing her interview notes. Her thick eyelashes cast a shadow under the light, and her slightly pursed red lips were exceptionally captivating.
"Host Yan's interviewing style is truly like a breath of fresh air," Jiang Jing said as he stood up, casually picking up a bottle of mineral water and handing it to her. "Unlike some media outlets that are always aggressive."
Yan Shuyao took the water, her fingertips brushing past the back of Jiang Jing's hand. A subtle electric current seemed to spark between them.
"It's because President Jiang was so cooperative." She unscrewed the cap and took a small sip. "I've interviewed many entrepreneurs, but few can explain professional jargon in such a lively and interesting way like you do."
Jiang Jing noticed the slight upward curve at the corners of her eyes when she spoke; it was genuine pleasure.
The Master-level Eloquence skill allowed him to speak with witty eloquence during the interview, making this host—renowned for her professional coolness—cover her mouth and laugh several times, and even the cameraman raised his eyebrows in surprise.
"That's because Host Yan's questions always hit the mark." Jiang Jing naturally took the notebook from her hand and helped her close it. "I heard your colleagues at the station call you an 'Ice Beauty'? It seems the rumors are wrong today."
Yan Shuyao let out a soft huff, but she couldn't hide the smile at the corners of her mouth. "Is President Jiang making fun of me?"
"I wouldn't dare." Jiang Jing made a gesture of surrender. "I just think Host Yan looks even more beautiful when she smiles than she does on TV."
This comment made the tips of Yan Shuyao's ears turn slightly red. She turned around to pack up the interview equipment to hide her loss of composure.
Jiang Jing noticed her slender fingers somewhat flusteredly fiddling with the equipment cords, a discovery that put him in an excellent mood.
"By the way," Jiang Jing suddenly pulled a delicate blue velvet box from his suit's inner pocket. "This is our internally developed 'huanyan Plus', which is five times as effective as the retail version. It's not in circulation yet. Just a small gift to thank Host Yan for today's wonderful interview."
Yan Shuyao's movements froze. She looked up at the box, a flash of desire in her eyes—as a veteran media professional, she knew all too well the value of this internal version of the beauty serum on the black market.
But her professional ethics made her instinctively stiffen her face. "President Jiang, does this count as bribing a media professional?"
Several assistants nearby who were packing up the equipment secretly pricked up their ears upon hearing this.
Jiang Jing chuckled and took a step forward, the distance between them suddenly shrinking to less than half a meter.
He lowered his voice, with a hint of playfulness: "Then how about you give me your contact info, Host Yan? That way, it'll be a gift between friends."
Yan Shuyao's eyelashes fluttered rapidly. She should have refused—as the star host of Longguo Satellite TV, she never accepted private invitations from interviewees.
But at this moment, as if possessed, she pulled out her phone.
"Scan my code." Her voice was an octave lower than usual, carrying a hint of shyness she hadn't even noticed herself.
