The battlefield was still smoking. The skies had stopped weeping, but the land hadn’t forgotten. Ash clung to the air like breath held too long. Cracked stones littered the ground, and the scent of burned magic still hung heavy.

Boris stood up slowly, brushing dust off his coat. He looked around, eyes sharp.

"...What was that just now?"

Everyone had felt it — the pressure. That overwhelming force that forced their knees to buckle, their breath to stop.

Fowler let out a low whistle and stretched his back, trying to shake it off.

"I thought we were about to get a round two," he said with a weak grin. "My heart’s still punching my ribs."

"You weren’t able to bring her back," Vulpina said, softer now, eyes briefly on Ella. "And I know that hurts more than anything else ever will."

Ella didn’t respond. She just clenched her fists tighter.

"But what you did do..."

She looked at them all, one by one.

"You stopped the world from ending."

Angel looked down, tears clinging to her lashes.

"You should be proud," Vulpina said.

Francisca inhaled sharply, her shoulders shaking for just a moment before she controlled it.

"You protected millions. You held the line. You walked through hell — and you came back."

Ken finally raised his head, blinking fast. His eyes were glassy, but he nodded once.

"Don’t let grief drown what you saved."

Vulpina turned to Ella now, stepping closer.

She knelt — not low, just enough to meet her at eye level.

"I know what you’re feeling," she said gently. "Anger. Loss. Guilt."

Ella’s voice cracked.

"She didn’t even hesitate to kill us."

"I know," Vulpina said, placing a hand over hers. "

And she didn’t fall because of a curse. Or mind control. Or manipulation."



She paused.

"She chose it."

Ella bit her lip, hard. "I still see her face."

"You always will. But remember her before she went rogue. Remember who she was when she smiled. When she fought beside you."

A silence stretched.

Then Ella’s shoulders finally dropped, and she whispered, "I miss her."

"We all do," Vulpina said. "But don’t let her story end in hatred. Let it end in love — in what she gave her life to stop."

Ella finally nodded. Just once. Small. But it was a start.

Behind them, the older warriors stood back — Boris, Fowler, Vladimir — watching in respectful quiet.

Then Boris turned to the cluster of vampires, witches, and beasts standing in formation behind Zane.

The Origin Clan.

Their presence was undeniable. Even now, post-battle, their aura lingered like a shield — calm, powerful, protective.

Zane stood at the front, arms behind his back, not gloating, just present. The blood on his coat had already dried.

Vulpina looked at them now, her voice shifting.

"To the Origin Clan..."

She bowed her head slightly.

"You came when you didn’t have to. You stood with us — not for territory, not for pride — but for life."

"You shielded our people."

"You fought back the Fogwalkers. You bought us time."

"Without you, the gates would’ve cracked wide open."

Zane nodded, accepting it without ceremony.

Vladimir spoke up next.

"I’ve seen many clans. Too many. But you... you’re different."

He looked at Zane, then the others behind him — all bearing the mark of Lucifer’s blood.

"If this is what Lucifer’s clan looks like... then maybe there’s hope for balance yet."

Mob finally stepped forward, looking at the group of supernatural warriors.

"Thank you," he said, voice low. "For real."

Angel smiled faintly, walking beside him. "I thought we were all gonna die."

Francisca tilted her head. "We almost did."

Ken added, "But if we’re being honest... it was kinda cool."

A chuckle slipped out from someone — it wasn’t clear who. But it broke the air, just enough to let light back in.

Vulpina stood again, her gaze still holding warmth as she looked back at the younger ones.

"This isn’t the end," she said. "It never is."

"But you’ve proven you’re ready. That you’re more than just survivors."

"You’re defenders now."



The wind stirred gently, carrying with it the scent of scorched earth and fading blood.

Far off, the sun began to rise again — just barely peeking over the horizon, as if it too wasn’t sure if it was allowed to return.

Ella looked at the light, her lips parting slightly.

Francisca whispered, "She would’ve liked this."

Vulpina nodded. "She sees it. I promise."

And so, they stood.

Wounded.

Exhausted.

But proud.

Not just because they lived...

But because they protected life.

And in this broken, bleeding world — that meant everything.
