He looked around. Nothing but black. Infinite, thick silence.

"...Okay, so where the hell is this?" he asked, frowning. "This ain't heaven. Definitely not hell either. Did I get scammed on the whole afterlife thing?"

Just then, the darkness around him started to blur—like someone was messing with a camera lens. A rush of pressure pulled at his chest, and the next thing he knew—

His eyes shot open.

He was back—flat on the same cold floor, soaked in blood... but breathing.

"What the hell?! I was dead! I felt it!"

Lucifer blinked. "So it wasn't her..."

And that? That just made it personal.
