Chapter 59: Lucifer Stepped InMore shadows moved.

But these didn’t stumble or howl. They glided.

Tall. Composed. Smiling with something too calm for a battlefield.

Ruka shifted slightly. His blade hovered just above the ground, gleaming faintly. The feathers around him drifted slow, like snow in warm wind.

And then—he saw him.

One figure stood out.

Leaning lazily against the crumbling wall of a broken liquor store. One leg crossed over the other. Suit flicking with the wind. Long hair tied back. Pale skin that shimmered under the cracked streetlights.

Drax.

Ruka narrowed his eyes.

Drax pushed off the wall, slow and smooth, brushing dust off his coat like it mattered. He stepped forward. Each boot landed with barely a sound, yet every creature around him—vamps, wolves, even corpses—seemed to shrink under the weight of his presence.

"Now, that was pretty," Drax said, smiling. "The little creature can dance. Not bad."



Ruka didn’t answer. Didn’t move.

Drax looked around at the bodies, then locked eyes with Ruka.

"Did you think this was it?" he asked, voice low but clear. "Did you think they’d send pups for nothing?"

He raised one hand.

Snapped.

And like roaches from a nest, they came.

Not just more vamps. Not regular wolves.

The Omegas.

Twisted werewolves, larger than normal ones, their bodies mutated by blood rituals and forbidden magic. Their muscles bulged unnaturally. Eyes wild. Mouths dripping black sludge.

Behind them—taller figures. Five in total.

Elders.

Vampires older than kingdoms. Their presence alone chilled the air. Their smiles were ancient, cruel, sharp enough to cut.

One of the Omegas roared and lunged.

Before Ruka even blinked—

WHAM.

The beast’s body bent backwards mid-air.

A hand had caught it.

Lucifer.

He stood in the middle of the battlefield now, one hand in his coat pocket, the other gripping the Omega by the throat.

His smirk never left.

The Omega snarled, trying to bite him. Lucifer sighed.

And crushed its throat in one smooth squeeze.

CRACK.

He tossed it aside like garbage.

"Ruka," Lucifer said casually, not turning. "Mind sitting this one out?"

Ruka gave him a look. Wings still twitching.

Lucifer turned halfway toward Drax and the others. His red eyes glinted.

"You see..." he began, rolling his shoulders, "...I’ve been waiting for this."

The Elders stepped forward.

The ground quaked a little. The air rippled. The very light bent around them.

But Lucifer just grinned wider.

He reached into his pocket. Pulled out a cigarette. Lit it on the tip of his finger.

Then exhaled the smoke upward.

Ruka folded his wings behind him, stepping back without protest. He didn’t need to be told twice. He felt it. That shift. That... pressure.

Lucifer wasn’t just confident.

He was awake.

Really awake.

One of the vampire elders chuckled. "You think you can take all of us alone?"

Lucifer’s smile stretched lazily. He cracked his neck.

"Time to prune the bloodline," he said.

That was it.

The catchphrase.

He flicked the cigarette away.

The street exploded.

Lucifer moved before the sound caught up.

One step.

Then—

BOOM.

He vanished and reappeared mid-air—above the Elders.

His palm was already glowing red.

He dropped straight down.



The impact created a crater ten meters wide. Cars flew. Glass shattered. Every Omega within reach was reduced to mist.

One of the Elders tried to fly out—Lucifer caught his ankle mid-air, spun, and smashed him through three walls.

Another elder summoned a black spear—Lucifer caught it mid-thrust, twisted it, and stabbed it right through his chest.

"Nope," he said.

Then threw the corpse into the sky, where it exploded.

The third elder came behind him—fangs out, claws aimed for Lucifer’s spine.

Lucifer didn’t turn.

Instead, his shadow moved.

It rose from the ground like a beast and devoured the attacker whole, pulling him screaming into darkness.

Lucifer finally turned.

"Three down," he muttered.

Ruka watched from the rooftop, eyebrows raised. Even he was impressed.

Drax, though—he hadn’t moved.

He just smiled wider.

"Still arrogant," he said, stepping forward at last.

Lucifer grinned. "Still breathing. That’s the problem."

Drax extended his arm. Shadows spiraled around his hand, forming a blade made entirely of cursed blood and darkness.

Lucifer’s eyes narrowed slightly.

"That’s new."

Drax slashed once.

The ground in front of him split, erupting into a wave of black tendrils that reached for Lucifer like hungry snakes.

Lucifer side-stepped, but the tendrils followed.

He flipped backward mid-air, landed upside down on a streetlight, and then kicked off, spinning through the air.

The tendrils almost caught his leg—but he twisted mid-flight and fired a beam of red light from his palm.

BOOM.

The tendrils burned to ash.

Drax leapt next—fast. Too fast for normal eyes.

Lucifer caught his blade with his hand. Bare hand. The cursed blade sizzled against his palm—but Lucifer didn’t flinch.

He grinned.

Then headbutted Drax hard enough to create a sonic boom.

Drax flew back, crashing into a billboard and toppling it.

Lucifer shook his bleeding hand and chuckled. "Okay. That was sharp."

Drax reappeared instantly, dragging his blade along the ground. Sparks flew. He slashed upward—and the air itself tore open, creating a rift.

Lucifer vanished again—only to reappear behind Drax and kick him full-force in the back.

Drax tumbled forward, caught himself, spun, and fired a wave of blood shards.

Lucifer raised a wall of shadow—it absorbed the shards, then fired them back as black needles.

They pierced Drax’s shoulder, leg, and side.

But the vampire elder didn’t scream.

He laughed.

"You’re enjoying this too much."

Lucifer wiped blood off his lip. "Nah. Just don’t get many warm-ups like this."

Down below, the rest of the battlefield was still chaos. Ruka had returned to clearing stragglers. Anita was back to slicing throats and humming a broken tune. Smoke curled from busted engines and ruined buildings.

But in the middle—this was no longer a battle.

It was a clash of monsters.

Lucifer raised both hands this time. His aura flared—red lightning arcing across his skin.

Drax lifted his cursed blade, mouth splitting into something less like a smile and more like hunger.

And then they collided.

Fist and blade. Shadow and blood. Every hit shook the air.

Buildings cracked.

Streets warped.

The sky above them pulsed like it was about to split in half.

And still—they kept fighting.



Two monsters.

No words. No grand speeches.

Just destruction.

Just chaos.

Just fun.

And far above it all, standing silently, Ruka watched.

Wings folded.

Blade sheathed.

Eyes calm.

But even he knew—

This wasn’t over.

Not even close.
