Chapter 89: The Tear 2The world above was in chaos. But below, deep within the forgotten underbelly of an ancient ruined castle, there was only silence... until the chanting began.

Remu sat cross-legged at the center of a massive circular symbol etched into the stone ground — a glowing nexus carved with intertwining runes, shifting and pulsing with violet and crimson light. The stone beneath her thrummed with power as the tear in the sky responded, growing wider, thicker, darker.

A breeze swept through the chamber, whispering as if the realm itself were holding its breath.

Her eyes were closed. Her arms raised.

Her voice, steady and cold.

"Eth’karith namut solan ves’tarr..."

"Zhara malenth. Ith’ven dorah—"

"Sera’tun. Kora’th ehn vala..."

The runes beneath her began to flicker faster, reacting to her incantation. One by one, the engravings expanded outward across the cracked floor like living veins, reaching toward every edge of the massive chamber.

"Yor’meth dul’aza—Renthul! Renthul... arakth val’ra!"

Above ground, the tear twisted violently. Lightning cracked through it like veins on skin, screaming soundlessly through the atmosphere. Buildings miles away started trembling. Flocks of birds crashed from the sky. Across cities and countryside alike, the people of the world stared upward with dread.



But down here — it was calm. Controlled.

At the edge of the rune circle stood Balgron and Selene, watching Remu with unmoving eyes.

"She’s stronger than I thought," Selene muttered, brushing a strand of hair behind her ear, her voice low, reverent almost. "She’s stabilizing the Rift faster than expected. The fog is already beginning to seep through."

Balgron crossed his massive arms over his chest, his heavy form looming beside her like a wall of flesh and bone. His yellow eyes glowed faintly under the flickering rune light.

"The nexus is responding to her bloodline," he said. "Bloom magic was always meant for tethering... just never like this."

They both looked up as a wave of magic rippled outward from Remu. The ground cracked at the edges of the circle, and runes etched themselves into the ceiling above, mimicking the ones on the floor — forming a mirrored gate.

"Kaelth azurun—ven’mora..."

"Dor’sal ethra! Mor’dan vel’eth!"

Remu’s voice deepened, not just in tone, but in something ancient — older than the language itself. Something monstrous, echoing from somewhere beyond the Rift. Her hair floated upward, untouched by gravity. Her eyes glowed pale blue behind her closed lids. Blood dripped from her nose, but she didn’t stop.

Balgron smirked.

"It’s beautiful," he said. "She doesn’t even realize it, but she’s the key. The gate, the ritual, the Rift itself... all of it bends to her."

Selene looked sideways at him, her voice sharper now. "You’re getting poetic again, old man."

He chuckled, deep and gravelly. Then his face straightened.

"It’s time."

He turned to her.

"Go," he said. "Release our brethren. Every one of them. From the frost dungeons, from the dream cages, from the void pits. Wake them. Unleash them."

Selene blinked. "All of them?"

"All," he said with a hungry grin. "Let them scorch the earth. Let them remind this world what it feared 2,000 years ago. The time of witches and guardians is over. The era of monsters... begins now."

Selene took a step back and gave a small, wicked smile.

"As you wish."

With a blink of her eyes, her skin peeled back into smoke. Her limbs stretched into shadow, until she was gone, racing through the cracks of the earth toward ancient vaults and prisons long sealed by divine hands.

Above the Nexus...

The tear in the sky now spanned across entire continents. Light from the sun warped around it. Night bled into day. Shadowy shapes moved behind the veil, massive and grotesque.

People fell to their knees in streets. Churches overflowed with prayers. The military launched drones and jets, all of which were swallowed by black fog mid-flight. Sensors everywhere collapsed into unreadable static.

All while Remu chanted.

"Val’taran. Kuth’el nazin..."

"Yor’eth... Vah’naal... Zolkarun."

In the sky — eyes began to open. Not one. Dozens. Glowing red, slit pupils like beasts watching through the veil.

The Fogwalkers were waking.

And the High Concord, wherever they were in their holy realm, surely felt the shift.

The world had just stepped into the mouth of something it couldn’t close.

Deep Beneath the Earth...

Ancient vaults split open.

Doors that hadn’t moved in centuries groaned as they were forced ajar. Cold fog seeped out.

Inside, silhouettes began to move.

One by one — they woke.

A serpentine horror the size of a cathedral.

A swarm of eyeless beasts that moved as one.

A skinned titan with the voice of a choir.

Creatures that had once threatened to swallow the world whole.

Selene appeared in the middle of it all, arms raised, her voice cutting through the echoing abyss.

"The seal is broken," she said. "Your time is now. Rise."

The monsters obeyed.

They remembered the war.

They remembered fire.

And now, they would rise to finish what they started.

Back in the Nexus

Remu finally opened her eyes. The chanting stopped.

She panted softly, a thin line of blood trailing from her lips.

The air around her shimmered like a mirage. Her body felt heavy, like the magic inside her had shifted something permanent.

She looked up — through the crumbling roof, through the layers of earth and stone — and saw the tear above.

It was open wide now.

The sky didn’t look like the sky anymore.

She stood slowly, barefoot on glowing stone, as Balgron approached her from behind, his voice deep.

"You did it."

Remu didn’t answer. She just stared at the Rift.

A cold wind blew through the ruins.

Then... from deep within the tear, something growled.

Not an animal.

Not a demon.

Something worse.

Something old.



Balgron’s eyes gleamed.

"Now... let the world burn."

Origin Clan Resident

Lucifer sat on the edge of his bed, scrolling through his system tab. A soft glow lit up his face as he claimed the rewards for the latest quests — nothing too exciting, but progress was progress.

He barely looked up when the door creaked open.

Zane stepped in, followed by Rey.

Lucifer raised a brow, unimpressed.

"The hell are you doing here?" he asked flatly, eyes flicking between the two. "Last I checked, we’re not exactly on friendly terms... and your sister still owes me a scar."

Zane didn’t respond. He just moved aside as Rey stepped forward.

"I need your help," Rey said quietly.

Lucifer leaned back and exhaled.

"Just like I thought," he muttered, shaking his head. "Of course you do."
