Chapter 34: Vina And ReyLucifer woke up to the sound of knocking. Barefoot and shirtless, he dragged himself out of bed, ran a hand through his messy black hair, and opened the door.

Anita stood there, arms crossed, face like thunder. "Nope," she said as she pushed past him. "I can't do it. I'm not babysitting twelve newborn vampires. What are you doing, recreating the twelve disciples?"

She spun around to face him. "Twelve, Lucifer. Twelve blood-hungry newbies. Do you hate me?"

Lucifer yawned, not bothered. "Relax," he said as he stretched. "Vamps I turn adjust faster. You did, didn't you? Barely two weeks in and you're already walking around in daylight and not biting every throat you see."

"That's not the point—"

"You'll have help," he cut her off, walking to the dresser to grab a black shirt. "Ella's coming soon. She'll back you up. Zane, on the other hand, has a job. Tell him to get into the supernatural scene—by any means necessary. He's one of us now, it should be easier for him."

Anita sat on the edge of the bed, groaning. "This is insane..."

Lucifer slipped on his shirt and walked over. "Also... I still can't get Remu to switch sides. And I'm not going to her mother again for anything. So until I can get Remu, you and Zane need to find a witch. One that doesn't run when she hears the word 'vampire.' Got it?"

Anita sighed. "You're unbelievable."

Lucifer smirked, leaning close. "And you love it."

She rolled her eyes. "I swear, the moment one of those newbies bites me, I'm setting the whole house on fire."



Lucifer just grinned wider. "Don't burn down my disciples, Anita. Not yet."

The sun filtered through the blinds behind them, casting a golden glow over the start of what would be another chaotic day. The vampire clan was officially thirteen strong, and the game had just begun.

Anita left with a grunt and a muttered curse under her breath. Lucifer watched the door close behind her and flopped back onto the bed, ready to catch some sleep. It was a weekday, and for once, he just wanted to chill.

But of course, his phone had other plans.

Riiing. Riiing.

He glanced at the screen. Dera.

He sat up immediately, answering before the second ring ended. "Hey Dera, more monster hunting?" he said, already grinning like a kid who found candy.

Her voice came sharp through the phone. "Get your ass to the campus gate. Now."

Lucifer chuckled, already tossing off his shirt and heading to the bathroom. "On my way."

Campus Gate – Late Morning

The wind blew gently through the trees as Dera leaned against her black motorcycle, arms crossed, helmet hanging from one hand. Lucifer arrived moments later, sliding to a stop like he was walking into a concert.

"You're weirdly happy every time we do this," Dera said with a frown, eyeing him. "You do know we're hunting monsters, not going shopping, right?"

Lucifer smirked, his red eyes gleaming faintly. "What can I say? I get a kick out of cleaning up the trash."

"Right..." she muttered, rolling her eyes.

She turned, swung her leg over the bike, and slid on the helmet. Lucifer hopped on behind her, no helmet as usual, wind already whipping through his hair.



The engine roared to life.

No more talk. No more delay.

Just two shadows speeding off into the unknown—toward blood, claws, and whatever creature was stupid enough to cross their path today.

Near the campus gate — moments after Dera and Lucifer sped off

Ken stood still, his eyes locked in the direction the motorcycle had disappeared. There was a flicker in his gaze—something dark, wild, almost unhinged.

Angel, standing beside him, followed his line of sight but saw nothing. She tilted her head. "What's wrong?"

Ken didn't answer. His fists were clenched so tightly his knuckles turned pale, and a thin trail of blood trickled down from his palm.

Angel's brows furrowed. "You say it's nothing, but you're literally bleeding. Get it together. You're outside. Don't draw attention to yourself."

Ken let out a sharp breath, jaw tight. He closed his eyes for a moment, then slowly turned and walked off, leaving red fingerprints on his jeans.

Not far away — on a stone bench under the trees

Rey sat with one leg crossed, arms behind his head, eyes tracking the scene quietly.

"Tch... typical werewolf," he muttered. "Always on edge like someone stole their bone."

WHACK!

A palm landed squarely on his head.

"Ah—!" He spun around, rubbing the spot, only to see her—his sister.



"Vina!" he growled, annoyed.

His older sister stood there, sweat dripping from her tank top, a towel slung over her neck. She cracked open a bottle of water and took a long drink before answering.

"Just a little reminder, dear brother. I'm a werewolf too."

Rey narrowed his eyes. "Half-werewolf. Let's not pretend like you got the full hot-tempered gene. That demon blood in you keeps things... balanced."

Vina laughed, deep and carefree. She reached over and ruffled his already messy hair.

"Stop that! I'm not a kid," Rey grumbled, swatting her hand away, though his tone wasn't serious.

Vina's smile faded just a bit as she leaned closer. "While we're on it... what's the deal with that Lucifer guy? You felt it too, right?"

Rey's eyes sharpened. "Yeah. His aura is weird. Definitely part demon. But not just that... he reeks of lust. Like, Lust Demon class weird."

Vina nodded slowly, her gaze drifting toward the horizon. "Keep digging. We need to know who we're dealing with."

Without another word, she turned and sprinted off across the field, vanishing into the distance like a streak of silver.

Rey leaned back, arms behind his head again, but his eyes never stopped scanning.

"Lucifer, huh...? What the hell are you really?" he muttered.
