252: Chapter 252 Using a Snake to Kill

The bullet penetrated the giant python's body.

"Pfft!"

"Pfft! Pfft!"

Three muffled thuds sounded, and blood splattered out, dripping onto the giant python's pitch-black scales.

However, those three pistol bullets didn't seem able to pierce through its absurdly thick layer of muscle and fat, barely managing to break the outer skin.

The pain far outweighed the actual damage.

[Warning! The pistol bullet lacks penetration power and failed to inflict fatal damage!]

On Lin Fan's retina, red warning text flashed by.

A bad premonition surged into his heart; things were looking terrible now.

"Roar…!"

The excruciating pain completely stimulated the giant python's bestial nature, and it let out a deafening roar.

Its massive triangular head turned, abandoning Wang Laoliu, who was still fleeing in panic amongst the pile of reefs.

Those slit pupils locked onto Lin Fan.

The next second, the giant python moved!

Its enormous body aggressively charged straight toward Lin Fan's location!

[Roll to the right! The target will perform a tail-swipe sweep!]

The moment the system prompt appeared, Lin Fan's body had already reacted.

He didn't even have time to think; entirely driven by survival instinct, his body lunged toward the crevice in the reefs on the right.

"Whoosh…!"

Almost at the exact same time his body hit the ground, a giant snake tail thicker than his waist swept past the spot where he had just been standing, carrying a fierce gust of wind.

"Boom!"

A half-person-high reef shattered under the whip of the snake tail, stone chips scattering and flying everywhere.

Lin Fan lay flat in the reef crevice as the gravel struck his back, causing a sharp pain.

If he had taken that strike squarely, he probably would have been turned into a puddle of meat paste on the spot.

He didn't dare stay there a moment longer, crawling out of the crevice using both hands and feet.

Missing its first strike, the giant python became even more violent, its massive head already turning around to lock onto his position once again.

[Jump back! Leverage and kick off the reef ahead!]

Without the slightest hesitation, Lin Fan exerted sudden force with his legs, leaping backward as the tips of his shoes precisely stepped onto the moss-covered reef prompted by the system.

The instant he leveraged force from beneath his feet, he felt his body become inconceivably light, and a powerful force surged from his core and waist, carrying him swinging sideways once more to evade the giant python's attack yet again.

Lin Fan was completely thrown into a passive state, able to rely only on the system's early warnings to clumsily dodge and maneuver around this patch of reefs.

The giant python's attacks grew faster and more frantic.

Tail whips, charges…

The entire reef area was turned upside down by it, with flying rubble and swirling dust everywhere.

Lin Fan's stamina was depleting rapidly; his breathing grew increasingly heavy and ragged, and sweat dripped endlessly from his forehead.

He knew that going on like this was not a viable solution.

The system's early warnings could only save his life, but they couldn't help him kill the enemy.

Or perhaps there wasn't a method to kill this snake at present.

Sooner or later, due to physical exhaustion or a minor mistake, he would be swallowed alive or batted away by this beast.

The only hope was the sniper rifle in Wang Laoliu's hands!

"Wang Laoliu!"

While dodging yet another charge from the giant python, Lin Fan roared at the top of his lungs toward a nearby direction.

"Shoot! Hit its head!"

After roaring, taking advantage of a brief gap, the corner of his eye glanced toward Wang Laoliu's direction.

This single glance made Lin Fan's heart instantly sink to the bottom.

Wang Laoliu… was not running away at all.

He didn't know when, but he had already climbed onto a massive reef with higher terrain. The view there was broad, neither too far nor too close to the battlefield, making it an exceptional observation point.

He was standing right there, holding that sniper rifle in his hands.

But he didn't shoot.

He just stood like that, looking down condescendingly at the battle between man and snake below.

Watching Lin Fan brush with danger amidst the giant python's attacks, watching Lin Fan brush past the Grim Reaper time and time again.

There was no expression whatsoever on his face.

Lin Fan understood.

Wang Laoliu, that sly bastard!

He had turned on them after getting two bullets; he wanted to sit back and watch them destroy each other!

If the snake won, Wang Laoliu would be completely fine; if one bullet wasn't enough, he still had another as insurance.

If Lin Fan managed to win by luck, he would still definitely be exhausted and heavily wounded.

By then, Wang Laoliu would step out and blow Lin Fan's head off with a bullet.

Regardless of either outcome, he would be the ultimate winner!

What a damn clever scheme he had cooked up!

"Hiss!"

The giant python wouldn't give him time to think; its thick body arched, and the next second, its massive head fiercely smashed toward the reef where Lin Fan was hiding!

"Boom!"

Lin Fan scrambled and dodged away as the reef behind him shattered instantly with a loud crack.

Above in the Karst Cave.

Watching the heart-stopping scene below, Song Ya was so terrified that she tightly covered her mouth, tears swirling in her eye sockets.

"Good heavens… It… It's going toward Lin Fan again!"

Liu Feifei crossed her arms, her face deathly pale, yet her mouth didn't forget to speak cynically: "It's over, it's over, he's dead for sure this time. Using a little pistol to fight that monster, isn't that just courting death?"

"Brother Fan!"

Leaning on a wooden stick, Zhou Kai was sweating profusely from anxiety and wanted to rush downward.

"I'm going down to help him!"

"Don't move!"

Xu Zhixia grabbed him, staring intently at the dodging figure below. "You going down will only add to the chaos."

"But…" Zhou Kai was frantic. "Brother Fan, he…"

"He will be fine," Xu Zhixia said confidently.

Zhou Kai didn't believe this at all; pointing at Wang Laoliu below who had just escaped a calamity, he cursed angrily:

"Fine? How is he fine?!"

"Brother Fan's martial prowess simply can't compare to that old camper! Look at that bastard!"

"When that snake went to chase Lin Fan just now, he clearly had a chance to shoot! Yet he didn't move an inch!"

"He just wants Brother Fan to die first! He wants the snake to help him get rid of Brother Fan!"

Zhou Kai's eyes were bloodshot with anxiety, and he wrenched himself free from Xu Zhixia's grip.

"Stop right there!" Xu Zhixia blocked his path. "Don't forget what Lin Fan asked you to do before he left."

She deepened her tone. "He told you to watch over the upper level, especially Qingxue."

"If you rush down now, in case that Wang Laoliu takes the opportunity to sneak up from the other side, which of us three women could possibly stop him?"

Zhou Kai's body froze.

He glanced back at the unconscious Su Qingxue on the ground, and then at Song Ya and Liu Feifei standing nearby whose faces were pale with terror.

That's right, he was just a cripple now; what else could he do down there besides throw his life away?

In case that beast Wang Laoliu really sneaked up… the consequences would be unimaginable.

"Trust me, he will be fine," Xu Zhixia said resolutely, looking at Zhou Kai.
