319: Chapter 319 Put him in
The Suit Man stared at his empty hands and did not move in a hurry.
His gaze left Zhou Kai and began to scan the other people in the Karst Cave, seemingly trying to get a clear look at the faces of these experimental subjects.
That gaze first fell on Su Qingxue, showing disdain at first before turning somewhat surprised.
Su Qingxue felt a chill down her spine from his stare, and subconsciously placed her hand on her abdomen.
Could it be that he saw she was pregnant, or that she possessed a Superpower?
The corners of the Suit Man's mouth twitched, and then his gaze shifted horizontally, landing on Xu Zhixia.
Another two seconds passed, except this time he didn't look as intently as he did at Su Qingxue.
Xu Zhixia stood in place without retreating, but her heartbeat had already reached her throat.
The Suit Man withdrew his gaze.
He didn't make a move against Su Qingxue and Xu Zhixia, instead returning his focus back to Zhou Kai's face.
To be precise, his cheeks.
Zhou Kai's cheeks were slightly bulging on both sides, and the Suit Man tilted his head.
"Spit it out."
Three words, these were the first words he spoke upon arriving at the Karst Cave.
Zhou Kai didn't move.
His tongue pushed against that hard pipe inside his mouth, and he clenched his teeth even tighter.
Three seconds ago.
The moment Xu Zhixia handed the pipe to Zhou Kai, only one thought flashed through Zhou Kai's mind: Where to hide it?
That Suit Man was ridiculously fast; holding it in his hand or stuffing it in his pocket was no different from holding it naked above his head.
His first reaction was to stuff it to Su Qingxue.
She had a space dimension; once things went in, they were in another dimension, and no one could get them.
But Su Qingxue's location was a bit far.
If he ran toward Su Qingxue right now, it would take this man only a fraction of a second to intercept him.
What was even more fatal was that if the Suit Man discovered that Su Qingxue had a Superpower, what if he targeted Su Qingxue next because of the pipe?
Lin Fan had saved him; how could he possibly jeopardize Lin Fan's woman and child?
Zhou Kai had no time to hesitate.
He shoved the pipe into his mouth and closed his teeth.
"Hmm?"
The Suit Man held his palm upward.
Zhou Kai kept his mouth clamped shut, staring at the man in front of him, his legs already taking a stance.
He couldn't win, sure, but wanted to dig something out of his mouth?
Not a chance.
The Suit Man didn't seem surprised by this reaction.
He didn't say it a third time.
When the fist smashed over, Zhou Kai didn't even see the beginning of the movement.
There was only a muffled sound.
"Bang!"
That punch hit Zhou Kai's left cheek, and a numbing soreness spread from the roots of his teeth to his temples inside his mouth.
Followed by a bloody taste, and only then did he feel the pain.
Zhou Kai touched it with his hand; he felt that at least two of his teeth had fallen out, hurting so much that his temples throbbed wildly and stars flashed before his eyes.
But he didn't relax his mouth.
Teeth could fall out, but his tongue was still there, and the pipe was still there.
Blood overflowed from the corners of his mouth, trickling down his chin.
Yang Ningcong watched from behind with his legs trembling, and he hurriedly covered his own mouth, worried that the next punch would land on him.
Song Ya covered her mouth with both hands, and the pair of eyes peering through her fingers were filled with terror.
Just at that moment, Lin Fan leaped from the edge of the platform, throwing his entire body sideways toward the Suit Man's flank, his dagger cutting an arc through mid-air directly toward the back of the Suit Man's neck.
The angle was tricky and the timing was precise, yet the Suit Man merely tilted his head slightly.
The dagger brushed past three centimeters from the base of his ear, still missing.
Taking advantage of the moment the Suit Man turned sideways to dodge the blade, Zhou Kai abruptly retreated two steps.
"Ptui."
The bloody pipe lay in the palm of his hand, alongside a few teeth.
Zhou Kai took a look and thought, Fuck, this is three teeth, not two!
The Suit Man's peripheral vision caught sight of that pipe, stained with blood and saliva.
His body instantly turned toward Zhou Kai.
Lin Fan's second slash had already arrived—a horizontal cut and a diagonal chop, a double strike with every blade aiming for vital spots.
The Suit Man's figure flashed, simultaneously shifting horizontally toward Zhou Kai's direction while dodging.
Both actions were completed simultaneously.
Lin Fan's heart sank; this guy could dodge attacks and snatch targets concurrently, completely without sacrificing one for the other.
"Kaizi! Be careful!"
The moment Zhou Kai saw the Suit Man drifting toward him, the hairs all over his body stood on end.
"Fuck your mother!"
An angry curse.
Zhou Kai didn't think about anything else, shoving the bloody pipe along with those three teeth back into his mouth once more.
The Suit Man's hand had already reached before him, five fingers spreading wide to grab his lower jaw.
Zhou Kai tilted his head back.
His Adam's apple rolled with difficulty.
Gulp.
That thumb-thick pipe, carrying three bloody teeth, slid down his esophagus.
The Suit Man's hand pinched Zhou Kai's chin.
The force was so great that Zhou Kai felt his jawbone was about to be crushed; his mouth was forcefully pried open, and three fingers reached deep into his oral cavity.
The fingers rummaged around in his mouth for two circles.
Empty.
Beneath the root of the tongue, inside the cheeks, in the alveolar grooves.
There was nothing at all.
With his chin being pinched and his mouth propped open at a bizarre angle, saliva and blood mixed together and trickled down.
But he laughed.
His mouth full of blood, the gum missing three teeth exposed outside, he smiled crazily.
"Hehe... It's gone."
A few words were squeezed out from the propped-open mouth, slurred, but the meaning couldn't be clearer.
Swallowed, it's in his stomach.
Want it? Dig it out yourself.
The Suit Man let go of his hand.
Zhou Kai staggered back two steps, stabilizing himself only when his back crashed against the stone wall.
His mouth was filled with the taste of blood; leaning against the stone wall with his chest heaving, his eyes locked firmly onto the man in front of him.
Smug.
Carrying a kind of smugness of facing death.
What of it? The thing is in my stomach; if you have the ability, rip open my guts.
The Suit Man stood in place, lowering his head to look at Zhou Kai.
The smile on that face was gone, and then he moved.
The first punch smashed into Zhou Kai's abdomen.
"Bang!"
Zhou Kai doubled over entirely, a breath of foul air choking out from his throat, his stomach churning violently.
The second punch, hitting the exact same spot.
"Bang!"
Zhou Kai's knees could no longer support him, and he knelt on one knee, blue veins bulging on his forehead. He wanted to vomit, but he gritted his teeth to the death, forcing that surging wave of acidic fluid back down.
He couldn't vomit.
If he vomited it out, all previous efforts would be wasted.
The third punch.
This punch was heavier than the previous two.
"Crack..."
Zhou Kai heard the sound of his own ribs.
His entire body was blasted against the stone wall, the back of his head striking the rock, and his vision exploded into a sheet of white.
The pain coming from his chest made his legs completely lose strength, and he slid down the stone wall to the ground, curling up into a ball.
The blood in his mouth was no longer just a mouthful or two; it was gushing out.
But his throat was locked tight, refusing to let out a single drop of gastric juice.
"Fan... Brother..." Zhou Kai turned his head sideways, twisting the corner of his mouth toward Lin Fan's direction, "I... I held on..."
Lin Fan had already rushed to the Suit Man's side.
The dagger swept horizontally, aiming straight for the Suit Man's ribs.
This blade carried the full power of Triple Enhancement, and the air was cleaved with a sharp, piercing whistle.
The Suit Man turned sideways.
The blade grazed past his suit jacket, cutting a slit in the fabric, but his skin and flesh remained completely uninjured.
Lin Fan didn't stop, turning around using momentum, delivering a backhanded revolving stab with the tip of the dagger heading straight for the Suit Man's lower back.
The Suit Man easily dodged it once more.
Lin Fan suddenly realized that after fighting for such a long time, he seemed to have overlooked a problem.
This moron seemed to be blindly dodging without fighting back at all; could it be that this Suit Man only had a speed advantage?
Then he would...
The Suit Man seemed to see through Lin Fan's thoughts, his mouth twisting slightly.
Then, his other hand felt toward his waist, and that short blade was drawn out.
Lin Fan's pupils constricted; he had guessed wrong. The opponent had drawn a blade. Previously he was always empty-handed, but now that he had taken out a weapon, he was getting ready to play for real.
The Suit Man flicked his wrist, and the short blade slashed upward from below.
The trajectory of the blade tip swept from beneath Lin Fan's ribs toward his throat.
Ridiculously fast.
Lin Fan leaned backward entirely, his back almost pressing against the ground, as that blade light swept horizontally past a position two centimeters above his Adam's apple.
Even the wind felt like it was cutting his skin.
While leaning back, Lin Fan pushed off the ground with both hands, flipping up with a carp arch.
Yang Ningcong watched with his entire body shaking.
That blade just now, he had seen it; when it swept past, it was a mere two centimeters off.
Two centimeters and his life would be gone.
After regaining his footing, Lin Fan did not charge again.
He couldn't charge anymore. With the Suit Man holding a blade, rushing forward blindly would purely be feeding him kills.
The opponent's speed was several times his own; once they collided head-on, taking a single slash would mean doom.
But if he didn't charge, what about Zhou Kai?
The Suit Man didn't seem surprised that Lin Fan could dodge this blade.
He withdrew the short blade, didn't pursue, and instead turned around.
In the blink of an eye, he was already standing before Zhou Kai.
Zhou Kai leaned against the stone wall. Having just had his ribs broken, he couldn't muster any strength in half of his body.
He raised his head, watching the Suit Man condescendingly look down at him from above, with only one thought in his heart.
It's over.
This time it's really over.
The pipe was in his stomach; if this beast directly ripped open his belly, he wouldn't even have a chance to struggle.
Su Qingxue stood deep within the Karst Cave, staring fixedly at the scene outside.
That space dimension of hers—today when going out to gather, afraid she wouldn't be able to fit things, she had specially cleared out all the inventory inside her space, piling it up in the Karst Cave.
Right now, her space was empty.
That place could hold fruit roots, dead rabbits, and even more so, people.
Since that space was sealed, she would put that man inside.
But if that man could tear open that space, would she get hurt, and would it affect the child in her abdomen?
There was no time to think about those things now; Zhou Kai didn't even have the remaining strength to fight back.
Lin Fan's speed wasn't enough, he could only protect himself, and Xu Zhixia and Song Ya were completely powerless.
She was the second person in this team to have a Superpower, so she had to shoulder this responsibility.
To put that man inside, the prerequisite was that she had to touch him.
Or, Lin Fan could control that man, even if only for a few seconds.
Su Qingxue's lips pressed into a thin line, and she quickly walked closer by a few steps.
"Lin Fan!"
Lin Fan looked back.
Su Qingxue didn't speak much, merely tilting her head and taking a glance at her right hand.
That hand was open, fingers slightly curved, striking a "grabbing" posture.
Then her gaze moved from her hand to the back of the Suit Man.
Coming and going, two actions.
Lin Fan froze for half a second.
The next instant, he understood. Su Qingxue's meaning was to put him inside...
