5: Chapter 5 Useful Weapons

Lin Fan flicked his wrist and gave a forceful throw.

"Whoosh~"

That diamond-encrusted luxury watch traced an extremely graceful parabola in the air, flying more than ten meters away. With a crisp "plop", it cleanly dropped into the turbid seawater, not even splashing up a decent splash.

The air instantly fell into a death-like silence.

The smile on Song Ya's face instantly froze, her rosy little mouth slightly parted, her whole person stiffened in place, and her brain crashed on the spot.

Not far away, Wang Qiang and the others who had been paying attention here widened their eyes even more, their chins almost smashing onto their feet, and the red wine in their mouths spewed out.

"Damn it! That's a Patek Philippe!"

"Is this kid crazy?! Three hundred thousand just thrown away like that?!"

"Psychopath! He must have gone crazy from the shock! That's money! That's money!"

Curses echoed everywhere.

In their view, what Lin Fan threw away wasn't a watch, but the dream they pursued all their lives.

Song Ya came back to her senses, looked at Lin Fan in disbelief, and tears instantly burst from her eyes: "Lin Fan... You... What are you doing! That was something I had a hard time for you..."

"That is trash."

Lin Fan interrupted her crying, his voice cold and hard: "Here, it's not even worth a bottle of mineral water. Keeping it will only make you harbor illusions of going back, and those illusions will kill you."

Looking at Song Ya's pear-blossom-in-rain pretty face, Lin Fan ultimately couldn't bear to be too ruthless and added:

"If you want to survive, don't pick up this kind of trash. Pick up more edible and drinkable things. Also, stay away from Wang Qiang and the others."

After saying that, Lin Fan no longer looked at her, turned around to carry the water tank, and strode towards the mountain.

Leaving only Song Ya standing alone in the wind. The sea breeze ruffled her skirt and also ruffled her heart.

She looked at that receding figure, her hands empty, but an unprecedented sense of strangeness inexplicably welled up in her heart.

This man... why did he suddenly become so unfamiliar?

Seeing three hundred thousand ruthlessly thrown away by Lin Fan, the other people desperately ran toward the direction of the watch.

...

Halfway up the mountain.

Lin Fan pushed aside the dense vines, and a damp, cool breath rushed toward his face.

This was a naturally formed Karst Cave with a narrow entrance, but this was just right for defending against beasts, practically a natural bunker. The space inside was open, and the ground was fairly even.

Lin Fan carefully placed the water and spam deep inside the Karst Cave.

"Not enough yet."

Lin Fan looked at the empty cave, that prickly sense of crisis never dissipating.

There was water, food, and shelter.

But he lacked one thing.

A core prop that could allow him to gain a foothold on this Deserted Island and make Wang Qiang and his gang talk on their knees.

A weapon!

Whether dealing with bloodthirsty beasts or human hearts more terrifying than beasts, going empty-handed was courting death.

Lin Fan walked out of the cave and did not continue to transport supplies, instead opening Omniscient Vision, his gaze sweeping across the ruins and debris below.

[Damaged Life Jacket: buoyancy lost, trash.]

[Broken Golf Club: carbon fiber material, maybe useful for beating dogs, a bit lacking for killing people.]

[Half a Champagne Bottle: glass product, fragile, disposable consumable.]

[A box of Durex: barely usable.]

His line of sight kept moving, filtering out countless pieces of trash information.

Suddenly.

A flash of deep blue light burst out from the crevice of a reef in the distance, stinging Lin Fan's pupils into a shock.

[Diver's Tactical Leg Bag: washed and stuck in a rock crevice by the waves. If you don't take it quickly, the next wave will sweep it away.]

[Internally contains: One SOG Navy SEALs dedicated tactical straight knife (hardness HRC58, cuts iron like mud, a divine tool for bleeding), one magnesium rod, one tactical flashlight (battery remaining 50%).]

Lin Fan's heart beat wildly. In this place, this feeling was even more satisfying than winning the lottery.

If food and water were the bottom line of survival, then this knife was the dignity of survival! With it, on this island, he was the man at the top of the food chain!

He took a deep breath and observed his surroundings.

Wang Qiang and the others were still searching for the watch he threw away on the other side of the beach.

Lin Fan immediately rushed down.

He rushed to the edge of the reef and reached his hand into that deep crevice.

His fingertips touched the rough nylon fabric.

With a forceful tug!

A heavy black tactical leg bag was yanked out by him.

Lin Fan didn't rush to open it, but quickly stuffed it into his bosom, wrapped it tightly with that torn vest, and then nonchalantly picked up a few rotten boards, pretending to be collecting fuel, and slowly retreated to the edge of the woods.

Until he was sure no one saw him, he hid behind a big tree and opened the leg bag with trembling hands.

A pitch-black dagger quietly lay inside.

The blade was slender, with a blood groove, and the back of the blade had serrations.

Lin Fan grasped the hilt of the knife.

A heavy, solid feeling spread throughout his entire body; that was an extension of power.

"Clang—"

Drawing the blade from its sheath, the cold light was biting.

Lin Fan casually swung it, and a wrist-thick branch beside him snapped in response, the cut as smooth as a mirror.

Good knife!

With this gadget, let alone Wang Qiang, even if a wild boar came, Lin Fan would have the confidence to bleed it!

Besides the knife, the magnesium rod inside was an even bigger pleasant surprise. In the wild, fire was civilization, hot food, and a barrier to drive away beasts.

Lin Fan plugged the dagger back into its sheath, hid it close to his body at his lower back, and covered it with his clothes.

For the entire rest of the morning, Lin Fan was shuttling back and forth between the beach and the cave.

Others were fighting, he was moving.

Others were snatching, he was moving.

Others were showing off the gold necklaces they snatched, and he was still moving.

The sun showed no signs of setting, and the vicious sunlight roasted the beach like a furnace, the air being burned until it distorted.

Nearing afternoon, the temperature was already approaching forty degrees.

On the beach and in the seawater, the originally excited crowd finally quieted down.

Not because they were tired, but because... thirsty.

"Damn it... Why is it so hot..."

Wang Qiang irritably pulled open his tie, licked his chapped lips, and that thirsty feeling spread like fire from his throat to his stomach.

He subconsciously raised the mineral water bottle in his hand, only to find that the liquid inside had long been drunk by him unconsciously.

The red wine he drank earlier not only didn't quench his thirst, but because of the dehydrating effect of alcohol, it made his throat smoke with thirst now, practically like swallowing a handful of sand.

His gaze uncontrollably looked toward that figure carrying a pack yet still full of vigor walking toward the woods.
