287: Chapter 287 Lin Fan, Help!
Lin Fan stared at her.
The distance was too close.
Close enough that he could see the tiny bead of sweat on the tip of her nose, and the cyan blood vessels throbbing beneath the skin on her neck, which was tensed from fear.
She was clearly scared to death.
Her whole body was shaking, her kneecaps were trembling slightly, and even her breathing was fragmented.
But she didn't retreat.
She threw herself before him, like a gambler betting their entire net worth on a gaming table.
The fire in Lin Fan's heart was completely doused by her appearance.
What remained was entirely irritation.
Annoyed that he had been driven to this point by a foolish girl.
Annoyed by Liu Feifei's foul mouth like a troublemaking stirrer.
"Song Ya," he pressed out word by word, "listen carefully."
"You are not a piece of trash, not a burden, and certainly not some toy that anyone can pass around."
Song Ya's tears rolled down her cheeks and hit her open neckline.
"Then do you want me?"
"..."
It had circled back again.
Lin Fan closed his eyes for a moment, his temples throbbing.
Suddenly, Liu Feifei's voice came from below:
"Lin Fan—" dragging out the long note with her tail cocked high, "what are you guys doing up there?"
Lin Fan's face sank.
As expected.
This bitch simply wanted to make his backyard catch fire.
Song Ya heard it too, and her body instantly stiffened.
Although she said she wasn't afraid just now, once someone actually shouted, she panicked all over again.
Her pupils dilated, and her fingers subconsciously grabbed at her open collar.
Lin Fan lowered his gaze and glanced down.
Her shirt buttons were all undone, and she wasn't even wearing underwear.
The afterglow struck from the side, outlining the snow-white curve between the base of her collarbone and her chest all too clearly.
Tears were still hanging at the corners of her eyes, and her lips had been bitten pale by herself.
Lin Fan's Adam's apple rolled.
Fortunately, Xu Zhixia had already bled dry over there, otherwise, he'd probably bleed again here.
Lin Fan raised his hand and gathered Song Ya's collar toward the middle.
His knuckles touched the skin near her collarbone, and it was so scorching hot that he flinched.
Yet Song Ya suddenly reached out and pressed down on the back of his hand.
"Don't button it."
Lin Fan raised his eyes to look at her.
Song Ya's face was as red as if it were burning, her chin taut, but she still spoke: "If you don't agree today, I'll go down like this and let them all see."
Lin Fan almost choked on his breath.
"Are you threatening me?"
"Mm," Song Ya nodded, tears still falling, her voice unexpectedly stubborn, "I am threatening you. I've turned bad, and you have to take responsibility."
Lin Fan was completely numb all over.
What the fuck kind of logical genius was this?
She turned bad and still wanted him to take responsibility?
But somehow, when these words popped out of Song Ya's mouth, there wasn't a trace of grease.
There was only a desperate, clumsy courage.
Lin Fan lowered his head, pressing his forehead against hers.
"I haven't even touched you yet and you want me to take responsibility, what would happen if I actually did?"
It was as if this sentence triggered some switch in Song Ya.
She suddenly stood on tiptoe, closing her eyes and leaning forward.
Lin Fan instinctively wanted to turn his head away.
But her other hand grabbed his collar, dragging him down with all her might.
The distance between the two instantly compressed to the absolute closest.
Before her lips pressed against his, she tremblingly spat out her final sentence:
"Lin Fan, today, don't treat me like a child."
Lin Fan didn't speak again.
He lowered his head, their breaths intertwining, scalding hot and humidly suffocating.
Song Ya's eyelashes trembled, and her whole body shook, but she didn't retreat half a step.
Lin Fan's rationality made its final round of struggle in his mind.
What was the probability of going back?
Even the distress signals sent out by people like Yang Ningcong were useless.
Then, in all likelihood, this island was Lin Fan's destination.
Since it was the end, what the hell was there to care about?
He pinched Song Ya's chin, his thumb brushing across her moist lower lip.
"Stop crying."
Song Ya sniffled, her tears not yet dry, yet she smiled.
Clumsy, nervous, and carrying a reckless, give-it-all-up kind of stubborn drive.
Lin Fan supported the back of her neck with one hand and wrapped his other arm around her waist, bringing her down.
The moment Song Ya's back touched the grass, a chill shot up her spine, and she instinctively arched her body, shrinking into Lin Fan's chest.
The afterglow leaked through the gaps in the treetops, scattering like broken gold across her bare shoulders and collarbone, rising and falling with her hurried breathing, light and shadow flickering.
She closed her eyes.
Her hands first clutched the fabric of his back, then slid to his shoulders, and finally wrapped around his neck, gripping him with a strength as if she were afraid he would run away.
Every action carried a chaotic, all-out seriousness.
Instead, Lin Fan was tripped up in his rhythm by this clumsiness.
He slowed down his movements.
Much slower.
He brought his lips close to her ear.
"Relax."
Song Ya opened her eyes, looking at him through blurry, tear-filled eyes.
There was no calculation in those eyes, no probing whatsoever.
There was only a pure, unreserved surrender.
"Be gentler..." Her voice was as thin as a mosquito's hum.
Lin Fan's palm covered her side waist, the skin beneath his palm scalding hot and smooth, trembling slightly with her breath.
His thumb traced up her waistline, his fingertip rolling over the curve of her ribs.
Song Ya gave a start all over, her legs instinctively clamping together, her fingers scratching a few red marks onto his shoulders.
"Mmm..."
An extremely brief sound leaking out from between her tightly clenched teeth.
Lin Fan lowered his head, the tip of his nose brushing past the side of her neck.
He could smell the faint scent of sweat on her body mixed with the green, fresh breath of grass blades, along with a wisp of faint milky fragrance.
His lips landed in the hollow of her collarbone.
Song Ya's breathing instantly fell out of rhythm.
She tilted her head back, revealing her slender neck, and a muffled sob escaped her throat.
Immediately afterward, her whole body softened, melting away all defenses from the inside out.
"Lin Fan..."
When she called his name, her voice trembled, the trailing end dragging a crying tone.
Lin Fan kissed her.
Swallowing that name laced with a crying tone down into his throat.
Song Ya's fingers threaded through his hair, her nails gently scratching his scalp.
She learned to respond, awkwardly to the extreme, her teeth bumping twice, her hands not knowing whether to place them in front or behind.
In the end, she simply gave up thinking, clamped her arms tightly around his neck, and hung her entire body on him.
Just as Lin Fan was about to take the final step...
"Ah—!!"
A scream came from below the slope.
It was Su Qingxue.
Lin Fan jerked upright; all the ambiguous heat was drained away in this single instant.
"Lin Fan!! Help!!" A second voice closely followed from the direction of the beach.
Xu Zhixia.
Her voice was pitched to the point of distortion; besides fear, there was something Lin Fan had never heard from her before—out of control.
Xu Zhixia would lose control?
That woman who could practice Tai Chi with an expressionless face even when stripped bare was screaming at this moment.
Lin Fan had no time to think further; he yanked his pants up and frantically pressed the buttons.
"Put on your clothes! Quick!"
He glanced back at Song Ya.
Song Ya was still dazed, sprawled out on the grass, her shirt wide open, her face a mixed expression of interrupted bewilderment and terror.
"Song Ya!"
Lin Fan increased the volume of his voice.
Song Ya only then snapped out of it, scrambling in a flurry to reach for the clothes scattered nearby...
