3: Chapter 3 The closest humans to this place are astronauts.

[Damaged Satellite Phone: Motherboard severely corroded, battery short-circuited. Failed to successfully transmit any signals before falling into the water. Current rescue probability: 0%.]

A 0% rescue probability.

Lin Fan felt as if someone had dumped a bucket of cold water over his head. That chill instantly exploded, and on the beach under the blazing sun nearing forty degrees Celsius, he couldn't help but shiver.

The surrounding noises, the sound of the waves, the screams of women... in that instant, it felt as if everything had been evacuated into a vacuum.

There was only a sharp buzzing sound in his ears.

He stiffly raised his head, his gaze sweeping past the crowd and looking towards that distant, eerily deadened primitive jungle. Where his line of sight reached, the golden characters jumped once more.

[Current Location: X degrees North, Y degrees East (Edge area of the Devils Triangle).]

[Environmental Analysis: Strong magnetic field interference, radio silence. The nearest main shipping lane is 600 nautical miles away from here.]

[Rescue Probability: 0.0001%, the humans closest to here are astronauts.]

Lin Fan stood there numbly, his eyeballs aching from dryness.

Done for?

What he wanted was to live here with these women for a month, and then be picked up and taken back.

Now, he was afraid he was going to die here.

Without rescue, without signal, on this Deserted Island that might not even be on the map, how many days could this group of powerless modern people survive? Three days? Or five days?

He was stunned for a full five minutes.

Until an unknown seabird shrieked and swept past overhead, with a glob of bird droppings nearly landing on the tip of his nose, Lin Fan suddenly snapped back to reality.

He instinctively looked towards Su Qingxue not far away.

That aloof female CEO was directing the crowd, and although her face was pale, her gaze remained resolute.

She truly believed that the signal had been sent out.

She truly believed that tonight, a helicopter would roar down from the sky and take them back to that civilized world with air conditioning, red wine, and Simmons mattresses.

Should he tell them the truth?

Lin Fan moved his chapped lips, but the next second, this thought was forcefully extinguished.

He absolutely could not say it.

The reason order hadn't collapsed yet was because everyone felt that there was still the law and still rescue. Once this fig leaf was ripped off and they knew this was a lawless land, despair would instantly breed the purest evil.

By then, what things this group of ordinary elites could do just to fight for the last sip of water, Lin Fan didn't even dare to imagine.

If everyone knew they couldn't go back, on this isolated island, killing people didn't require going to jail.

Lin Fan took a deep breath, forcing himself to calm down. Since he couldn't go back, he had to survive.

In this ghost place, his only reliance was the "Omniscient Prompt" before his eyes.

His line of sight refocused, and the originally chaotic beach instantly turned into another scene in his eyes.

Except for him, almost everyone was frantically "collecting supplies".

A Sales Department manager who usually bossed him around was currently sticking his butt out and lying flat in a pile of rotting seaweed, clutching tightly onto a Hermes Birkin bag soaked and bloated by seawater. Disregarding the sludge and fishy stench stained on the bag, his face revealed the ecstatic joy of someone who had picked up gold.

And not far from him, two elite men wearing high-end custom shirts were wrestling together.

In order to fight for an overturned metal box.

The box was wide open, with a dozen branded watches scattered across the sandy ground, shimmering with an alluring luster under the sunlight.

"We're rich! We're fucking rich this time!"

One of the men shoved a Rolex studded with crushed diamonds onto his wrist, his face flushed with excitement to the point where the veins on his neck bulged out. "This single piece is worth hundreds of thousands! Take it back and flip it, and at worst you can still afford a Three-Pointed Star emblem."

"Bullshit! I saw it first!" Another man pounced forward, ready to bite.

The greed in human nature was infinitely magnified at this moment.

In their subconscious, survival was fundamentally not a problem, and they could go home tonight. Since they could go home, of course whoever grabbed the items got to keep them!

Who would go pick up worthless spam and mineral water at a time like this?

Only Lin Fan.

Looking at this group of incompletely evolved monkeys, he withdrew his gaze and turned to walk towards an inconspicuous pile of ruins.

[Damaged Container: The outer shell is severely deformed, but 12 boxes of undamaged canned spam are pressed in the lower right corner, with intact sealing.]

[Scattered Plastic Box: Mixed underneath women's underwear and rags, concealing a whole box of 500ml mineral water, totaling 24 bottles.]

Without any hesitation, Lin Fan nimbly pushed aside the broken wooden planks pressing down on top. When his fingertips touched the icy body of the mineral water bottle, he felt even more secure than touching gold.

He took off his soaked vest, wrapped the spam tightly inside it, tied a dead knot, and then laboriously picked up the box of water, preparing to find a shady place to hide it.

Not far away, Zhao Na had just slipped a huge diamond ring onto her finger. Turning her head to see Lin Fan's actions, she couldn't help rolling her eyes with a face full of disdain. "Picking up a bunch of junk and treating it like a treasure, you really are like mud that can't be plastered onto a wall."

"Yo, isn't this our great waiter Lin?"

A sarcastic voice followed closely after.

Lin Fan stopped in his tracks, turning his head to look.

He saw Wang Qiang swaggering over with two male subordinates. Those two subordinates were hung all over with designer bags and watches looted from various corners, and even had a few gold necklaces, acting just like two mobile display racks.

Yet in Wang Qiang's hand, he was unexpectedly holding a bottle of unopened red wine.

Romanée-Conti.

That was the grand finale item of the ship's auction, and it was said its starting bid was already a sports car.

Wang Qiang looked at the mineral water and spam cradled in Lin Fan's arms, laughing so hard he rocked back and forth, almost forcing tears out.

"I say Lin Fan, is your head stuffed with paste? Or did you drink too much seawater earlier and fail to drain it out?"

Wang Qiang pointed at Lin Fan. "President Su already said it, the rescue team will arrive tonight! Once the helicopter comes, we're going back! Why are you picking up these junk items? Planning to take them home so your poor mother can open a grocery store?"

The male colleague nearby wearing the newly snatched Submariner also scoffed along, shaking his wrist, the light refracted by the gold watch dazzling people's eyes.

"Exactly, Lin Fan, look at these watches on your brother's hand. Although we suffered on this trip, once we go back and sell these watches, that's being worth millions! Look at you instead, picking up a bunch of canned goods? Were you a starving ghost reincarnated?"

"Don't talk like that," another colleague chimed in with a sarcastic tone. "After all, what he does is a waiter's job, so his occupational disease just flared up. He probably wants to keep this water and wait until we get on the plane to continue serving us, counting on us to tip him a couple of bucks, hahahahaha!"

The piercing laughter echoed across the empty beach.

Lin Fan looked at this group of reveling clowns. After learning that there was only a 0.0001% chance of rescue, this kind of mockery felt to him like the delirious ravings of a dying person.

He glanced at the priceless bottle of red wine in Wang Qiang's hand, and then glanced at the gold watch on that colleague's wrist.

The golden subtitles surfaced once more:

[Romanée-Conti (1990): Top-grade red wine, contains alcohol, drinking it will accelerate body dehydration. Drinking it in an environment without fresh water is equivalent to chronic suicide. Recommended to be used with a coffin.]

[Rolex Gold Watch: Heavy metal product, cannot be eaten or drunk, completely useless other than increasing weight load and consuming calories. Perhaps it can be used to crack walnuts?]

The corners of Lin Fan's mouth curved slightly.

Laugh.

Go ahead and laugh.

Once tonight passes twelve o'clock, when the sound of helicopter propellers doesn't appear, and when hunger, thirst, and cold truly descend, I'll see if you guys gnaw on gold watches to fill your stomachs or drink red wine to quench your thirst.

By then, these priceless treasures in your hands won't even be worthy of exchanging for a single sip of water from my hands!

"Have you laughed enough?" Lin Fan spoke indifferently, his voice surprisingly calm. "If you've laughed enough, then step aside. Good dogs don't block the path."

"What did you say?!"

Wang Qiang's expression changed, not expecting that Lin Fan, who was usually submissive and let him manipulate him at will, actually dared to talk back.

Just as he wanted to fly into a rage, before his raised hand could fall, Su Qingxue's voice came from afar...
