345: Chapter 345 Hand over Su Qingxue
Explosions kicked up sand and severed limbs, and the formation of the black-clad team was disrupted only in a small section before quickly being patched up.
Hall stood on the reef, watching all of this with no expression on his face.
The gunshots lasted for a long time; among the hundred or so people, there was still some counterattack at first.
Later, there was only running, and after that, there was only muzzle-finishing shots.
A few minutes later, the beach became a bit quieter, and the black-clad soldiers began checking the bodies.
For those still breathing, they gave them another shot; for those playing dead, they dragged them out and shot them in the head.
The gunshots stopped.
No one on the beach moved anymore.
Song Ya squatted deep inside the Karst Cave, covering her ears with both hands, but those sounds still drilled their way in.
The screams lasted for a very long time, dense at first, then increasingly sparse and weaker, until in the end, only scattered groans mixed with the sound of the waves remained.
Even more terrifying than the sound was the smell; the thick, bloody stench surged upward along the sea breeze and poured into the Karst Cave.
That kind of liquid flowing out from the bodies of one's own kind was recognized by the brain faster than any other organ.
Yang Ningcong's tears instantly burst out, and he trembled all over; these screams and the bloody stench caused him psychological discomfort.
"Don't… don't kill anymore… don't kill anymore…"
Su Qingxue sat beside the stone wall, her face pale and her stomach churning violently.
That bloody stench was too thick, mixed into the humid air. "Ugh…"
She turned to the side, supported herself against the rock wall, and began to vomit.
Song Ya hurriedly rushed over to support her, and Xu Zhixia also walked over quickly, holding Su Qingxue's shoulder with one hand and patting her back gently with the other.
"Breathe slowly, inhale through your mouth." Xu Zhixia took care of Su Qingxue.
After finishing vomiting, Su Qingxue propped herself there panting, her eyes bloodshot, and she raised her head to look toward the cave entrance.
"How many people… died down there?"
No one answered her.
Lin Fan stood at the cave entrance, having watched the entire process from start to finish.
A hundred or so people were massacred en masse; from the gunfire to the end, it took less than ten minutes.
On the beach, the smoke of battle had not yet dissipated.
The team in black combat uniforms put away their guns and re-formed their ranks.
The corpses on the ground were scattered everywhere; some were piled on top of each other, and some had half their bodies buried in the sand.
"Gather them together and burn them all." Hall gave the order.
The subordinates started moving, and soon flames fluttered across the beach.
Accompanied by crackling sounds, a voice came up from below.
"People up there!" Zhao Qiming stood on a protruding reef in the middle section of the beach, clenching a portable megaphone in his hand.
Standing behind him were dozens of heavily armed men in black, with their gun muzzles all raised.
"Did you hear that?"
Zhao Qiming's voice was amplified by the megaphone, echoing upward along the mountain wall.
"Over a hundred lives, in a few minutes, all finished."
"Now, send that pregnant woman down to us."
Zhao Qiming raised his head and looked toward the direction of the Karst Cave.
"As long as you hand her over, everyone else can survive, and we won't make things difficult for you."
The megaphone was turned off.
Inside the Karst Cave, Yang Ningcong crawled up from the corner, his legs trembling. He looked at Lin Fan's back, and then at Su Qingxue.
"Brother Fan… they want Qingxue… we…"
With a single look from Lin Fan, Yang Ningcong's words swallowed back into his stomach.
Only then did he belatedly realize that Su Qingxue was no ordinary woman; she also carried Lin Fan's child inside her belly.
What he wanted to say just now hadn't passed through his brain because he was too scared.
Thinking about it now, he had walked through the gates of hell once again.
"We absolutely cannot hand her over!" Yang Ningcong hurriedly tried to remedy the situation.
Lin Fan ignored him and took a step forward, wanting to see the full picture of the people below clearly.
A hand reached over from the side and pressed down on his shoulder.
It was a semi-bestialized palm, with black fur pressed against the flesh and a great deal of force.
"Brother Fan, wait a moment."
Lin Fan turned his head to look at him.
Zhou Kai's pupils had already slit vertically, and the yellowish-green light was very bright in the dark. He lowered his voice and said, "If a message needs to be sent, let that kid go."
Zhou Kai jerked his chin in the direction of Yang Ningcong.
"His status as the young master of the Yang Family is right there, and he's a signboard after all. Since these people below came from the outside, they will naturally have some scruples."
Lin Fan looked at Zhou Kai, and a moment later, he spoke.
"Kaizi."
"Hmm?"
"That bunch of people down there probably don't know Yang Ningcong."
Zhou Kai was taken aback for a moment.
Lin Fan withdrew his gaze and looked toward the beach.
"Take a close look at their equipment, discipline, and organization." Lin Fan's voice was calm. "This bunch of people has spent year after year mixed up in battlefields. Do you think they would care about a domestic rich second-generation heir?"
Zhou Kai opened his mouth and didn't retort.
"Then just now…" Zhou Kai looked back at Yang Ningcong, who was still trembling. "You made him go out and shout the message?"
"To test for snipers." Lin Fan continued, "A single sniper, I can dodge."
He turned his head and looked straight into Zhou Kai's eyes. "Three or four of them, I wouldn't dare to gamble."
The Karst Cave fell silent for two seconds, and Yang Ningcong heard it from behind.
His entire body stiffened, and his lips trembled as if he wanted to say something, but swallowed it back down.
He had been used as a mine detector; this Lin Fan was really fucking inhuman. Once he had the ability, he would make this bastard Lin Fan pay back all this humiliation.
Now Yang Ningcong ultimately just took a breath, lowered his head, and didn't utter a sound.
Challenging Lin Fan at a time like this was something only someone with a brain full of holes would do.
"When Yang Ningcong went out just now, among hundreds of people, not a single sniper bullet flew over."
Lin Fan's hand moved away from the dagger. "That shows they weren't equipped with snipers, or this tsunami soaked and ruined their long-range firepower."
"Going out now will be fine."
Zhou Kai loosened his hand resting on Lin Fan's shoulder.
"Brother Fan, be careful."
Lin Fan walked out of the Karst Cave and stepped onto the rock platform outside the cave entrance.
This location had an extremely high terrain, and the entire beach below was completely unobstructed from view.
Rivers of blood could be used to describe all of this.
The original color of the sand could no longer be seen; that dark red color spread all the way from the middle section of the beach to the edge of the seawater.
This was not a battlefield; this was a far more terrifying human slaughterhouse.
Lin Fan stood on the platform, and Zhao Qiming was the first to see him.
He raised the binoculars in his hand.
Inside the lenses, a young man was standing on the rock platform halfway up the mountain.
He looked to be in his early twenties, not particularly stocky, wearing a set of tattered clothes, with no trace of panic on his face.
Zhao Qiming's hand paused.
This person—he had seen this face on the dark web.
Half a month ago, a video went viral on the Superpower empirical section of the dark web.
In the footage, a young Asian male dodged bullets coming straight at him.
It was this video, combined with subsequently leaked gene catalysis data, that attracted some ruthless characters from all over the world to this island.
Zhao Qiming lowered his binoculars and turned his head to look at Hall behind him.
"Hall, look…"
