Chapter 197 Ambiguous Night
Before she finished speaking, she slowly raised her hand, her fingertips gently undoing the first button of her pajamas.
The neckline loosened further, revealing more of that fair skin.
Lin Chen's head buzzed, and his blood instantly boiled hot; he couldn't hold back even for a second!
He tossed the hairdryer directly onto the sofa.
He didn't even care about the dull thud it made, his Adam's apple bobbing heavily twice as he swallowed hard.
With a low growl, he lunged at Li Sisi, his arm reaching out to firmly clasp her waist.
The force wasn't heavy, yet it carried an irresistible dominance.
Li Sisi went soft all over as he pounced, falling back onto the sofa.
Her nose bumped against his warm chest, which carried the fresh scent of a recent bath.
Instantly losing her composure, her small hands pressed against his chest, pushing gently as she spoke in a soft, sweet voice.
With a hint of flustered, coquettish reproach:
"Slow down! What's the rush..."
Lin Chen didn't speak; he lowered his head and covered her lips with his.
The kiss was urgent and fierce, carrying the restlessness he had suppressed all night.
It made Li Sisi tremble, her small hands unconsciously gripping his back.
Li Sisi's cheeks were incredibly hot, her eyes were hazy, and her long eyelashes fluttered slightly.
She no longer resisted, instead tilting her head back slightly.
Her voice was muffled and charming: "Rascal... you only know how to bully me..."
Lin Chen let out a low chuckle, his kisses falling on her neck as he gently nibbled at her sensitive earlobe.
His voice was incredibly hoarse, thick with desire:
"Bullying you? Who told you to be so alluring... Sisi, I want you."
As he spoke, his hand gently undid the second button of her pajamas.
Li Sisi's body stiffened, her cheeks turning so red they looked like they could bleed, yet she nodded gently.
Her voice was as faint as a mosquito's buzz, yet it reached Lin Chen's ears clearly:
"Mhm... I'll listen to you."
...
It didn't quiet down until the middle of the night.
Early the next morning, just as the sky was beginning to brighten, the faint scent of rice noodles mixed with the oily aroma of stir-fried eggs and meat wafted through the living room.
Li Sisi, wearing a faded floral apron, brought the last bowl of rice noodles to the table.
She touched the rim of the bowl with her fingertip to confirm the temperature was just right, then tiptoed to the bedroom door; without knocking, she pushed it open a crack and called out.
"Lin Chen, get up for breakfast..."
She kept her voice soft, afraid of startling him before he was fully awake, then added with a hint of helplessness after a pause,
"If you stay in bed any longer, you'll be late for that class at school!"
A muffled groan came from the bedroom, followed by the rustling of blankets.
Lin Chen rolled over and sat up, rubbing his eyes, his hair a messy explosion.
His face still bore the weariness of someone who had just woken up, and he sighed inwardly:
Only Li Sisi could be this patient; anyone else would have just ripped the covers off.
He sluggishly crawled out of bed, still not quite awake during his morning routine; it wasn't until cold water hit his face that he finally snapped out of it.
Scuffing his slippers, he wandered to the dining table and plopped down.
The table was set simply but thoughtfully:
A glass of warm milk with fine water droplets condensed on its side, next to a steaming bowl of rice noodles.
A thick layer of golden stir-fried egg and meat topping sat atop the glistening broth, with chopped green onions scattered over it, smelling so good it went straight to his nose.
Lin Chen raised an eyebrow and poked the rice noodles with his chopsticks, his tone carrying a hint of surprise,
Along with a bit of morning grogginess:
"Not bad, did you prepare the rice noodles in advance yesterday?"
"I thought you'd just throw something together this morning."
Li Sisi was wiping the stove, but she turned around with a slight smile and a hidden sense of pride in her eyes.
She walked over and sat opposite him:
"Yeah, I specifically bought fresh rice noodles when I passed the market yesterday and kept them in the fridge; they're perfect for boiling this morning."
She pointed to the topping in the bowl, her voice soft and sweet,
"I had to try twice before I got this fresh meat and stir-fried egg topping right. It's incredibly fragrant in the noodles, hurry up and try it."
Lin Chen didn't waste any more words; he picked up his chopsticks and took a large mouthful of noodles,
Along with several pieces of egg and meat, and shoveled them into his mouth.
With a "slurp,"
The slippery rice noodles entered his mouth, the delicious broth wrapping around the flavors of egg and meat, instantly spreading across his tongue—not too oily, just right for his taste buds.
His eyes lit up, and after a few chews and a swallow, the weariness in his voice vanished,
Replaced by genuine praise:
"Mhm... not bad, Sisi. This is really delicious."
He took another bite and added indistinctly,
"I didn't expect you to put this much thought into it, even making Chao Ma Noodles. It tastes more authentic than the breakfast shops outside."
Seeing him eat so ravenously, the smile on Li Sisi's face deepened.
Her eyes were full of tenderness as she said softly:
"What other thought could there be? I just saw that you usually either skip breakfast,"
"Or just grab whatever. I wanted to make you a healthy meal; I can't let you go to class or deal with company business on an empty stomach."
Lin Chen paused, looked up at her, and felt a strange warmth in his heart.
He had indeed been neglecting his diet while busy preparing the company lately.
He hadn't expected Li Sisi to remember all along.
He put down his chopsticks and gave Li Sisi a big thumbs up,
His tone carrying a bit of embarrassment and a touch of sincerity:
"Thanks... you've worked hard."
Li Sisi waved her hand, about to say "don't be so polite," when she saw Lin Chen take a sip of milk.
His tone instantly switched to work mode; though still casual,
It was now more composed:
"By the way, let me tell you about the company."
"Start by helping with recruitment. Not many, just one or two people for now—someone reliable who can help out and organize documents."
He paused, picked up a piece of stir-fried egg, and continued,
"Also, our first business task will be to interface with miHoYo."
At those words, Li Sisi was stunned, a flash of surprise in her eyes:
"miHoYo?"
"The company that's really good at making games?"
"We're just starting out; are we really going to interface with such a large company?"
Lin Chen smiled, his tone full of confidence, not panicking at all:
"What's there to be afraid of? We have the leverage."
"I'll personally handle the financing talks when the time comes,"
"Help me set up a connection first. In the meantime, look up information on this company—like their recent business layout and cooperation needs. The more detailed, the better."
Li Sisi understood instantly, her surprise turning into resolve as she nodded vigorously:
"Don't worry, I'll look into it today. I promise to organize it clearly for you so it won't delay your talks."
Seeing her serious expression, a slight smile played on Lin Chen's lips. He lowered his head and took another large mouthful of noodles,
Calculating the details of interfacing with miHoYo in his mind.
This first step had to be steady; as long as they could secure financing from miHoYo, the company would be able to firmly establish itself.
