Chapter 65 Testing
"I like it sweet, with pearls, and iced is fine."
Lin Chen thought about it for a moment on purpose, then said,
his tone still carrying that same shy demeanor.
"Alright, I've got it,"
"Junior likes sweet iced milk tea with pearls."
Chu Feifei nodded with a smile, took out her phone,
opened the milk tea shop's ordering mini-program, and skillfully ordered two cups of milk tea.
One was the sweet iced pearl milk tea Lin Chen liked,
and the other was her own favorite hot taro mash boba milk tea.
After ordering, Chu Feifei looked up at Lin Chen,
a sweet smile on her face, her tone carrying a hint of smugness:
"Junior, I've already ordered. Once it's ready, we can drink it."
"By the way, Junior, if you ever want milk tea in the future,"
"you can find me anytime. My treat."
On one hand, she was showing off that she didn't lack money for milk tea and was well-off.
It seemed she wanted to show Lin Chen that her family was wealthy.
"Thank you, Senior. It's too much trouble for you."
Lin Chen feigned a grateful look, his eyes full of "emotion."
"Senior, let me treat you instead. How can I keep letting you pay for me?"
"No, no, Junior. We agreed—it's my treat to repay you for your help today."
Chu Feifei waved her hand, her tone firm yet slightly coquettish.
"Besides, I'm your senior. It's only right for me to take care of my junior. Don't be so polite with me."
"Alright then, thank you, Senior."
Lin Chen "helplessly" agreed, a shy smile appearing on his face,
but he was sneering inwardly:
"Chu Feifei, you're quite generous,"
"but if you think you can control me with such small favors, you're far too naive."
The two stood in a corner of the milk tea shop, waiting quietly for their drinks.
Chu Feifei deliberately brought up ambiguous topics to test Lin Chen's attitude:
"Junior, I heard that you and Senior Chen Qian went out for late-night snacks together after last week's Freshman Welcome Ball?"
"Some people even say that the eight of you—four guys and four girls—paired up and hit it off. Is that true?"
Hearing the name "Chen Qian," Lin Chen's heart stirred slightly.
He knew that Chu Feifei finally couldn't help but start probing into his relationship with Chen Qian.
He deliberately acted "embarrassed,"
scratching his head with a shy tone:
"No, no, Senior, don't listen to those rumors."
"It was just everyone going for snacks together after the ball. We're all classmates; it's not as exaggerated as they say."
"My three roommates, on the other hand, did hit it off with those three seniors."
"Senior Chen Qian and I are just an ordinary senior-junior relationship."
Hearing Lin Chen's words,
she felt smug inwardly:
"It seems taking down Lin Chen will be much easier than I thought."
"I just need to wait a while and spread rumors in the College that Lin Chen dumped Chen Qian to like me."
"Then I can just dump Lin Chen. I won't lose anything."
Before she could finish her thought, Lin Chen added:
"But lately, Senior Chen Qian has been messaging me every day, and we actually get along quite well."
She immediately felt something was wrong.
"So the rumors are true. So many handsome guys from wealthy families are chasing Chen Qian,"
"yet she rejected them all to actively pursue a Freshman like Lin Chen."
"This means Lin Chen must have something special that attracted her."
"Is Chen Qian seriously interested in him?"
"If that's the case, then I have to steal Lin Chen even more."
"When the news breaks that Lin Chen abandoned Chen Qian for me, it will hurt her even more."
"Who told her to repeatedly steal my reputation in the College over the past three years?"
So, Chu Feifei spoke up:
"No matter what, as long as it's something you, Chen Qian, like, I'm going to compete with you."
"To prove that I am the most beautiful and popular girl in the College."
"Junior, honestly, I think you're a really good person."
"Handsome, ambitious, and very considerate."
"Anyone who becomes your girlfriend would surely be very happy."
Lin Chen lowered his head in feigned bashfulness, a blush appearing on his face, his tone shy:
"Senior, you're overpraising me. I'm not as good as you say."
Seeing Lin Chen's shy appearance, Chu Feifei became even more certain:
Lin Chen must have feelings for her; he's just too embarrassed to confess.
It seems I need to work harder, be more proactive, and completely win him over.
Just then, the milk tea shop staff called out; their order was ready.
"Junior, our milk tea is ready. I'll go get it."
Chu Feifei nodded immediately and walked quickly toward the counter.
She picked up the two cups, hurried back, and handed one of the iced milk teas to Lin Chen.
Her tone was considerate.
"Junior, here's your milk tea. Be careful, it's quite cold."
"Thank you, Senior."
Lin Chen took the milk tea and said thank you,
then took a small sip, a satisfied smile appearing on his face.
His tone carried a bit of praise.
"It's delicious. Senior, the milk tea you ordered is really good. Thank you."
"I'm glad you like it, Junior. As long as you enjoy it."
Chu Feifei watched his satisfied look, a sweet smile on her face.
She also picked up her own milk tea and took a sip, her eyes full of pride and anticipation.
"Senior, let's go for a walk. We can wander around the school entrance; it'll help with digestion."
Lin Chen looked at her and suggested proactively, his tone a bit shy.
"Sure, sounds good."
Chu Feifei nodded immediately, a joyful smile on her face.
She didn't expect Lin Chen to proactively suggest going for a walk with her.
This meant that Lin Chen really had feelings for her and had started to approach her on his own.
The two walked out of the milk tea shop side by side, heading toward the small path next to the school gate.
Holding their milk teas, they chatted while drinking, the atmosphere relaxed and ambiguous.
Chu Feifei deliberately slowed her pace, leaning toward Lin Chen from time to time.
Her soft chest occasionally brushed against his arm as she chatted with him in a soft, sweet voice,
praising him every now and then.
Lin Chen kept playing along with her act, responding neither too warmly nor too coldly,
occasionally showing bits of "bashfulness" and "interest," keeping Chu Feifei immersed in the illusion that "Lin Chen has already taken the bait."
As the sun set, golden sunlight spilled over them,
stretching their shadows very long, looking exceptionally intimate.
They chatted for nearly an hour as the sky gradually darkened.
Lin Chen checked the time on his phone and feigned "surprise," his tone a bit anxious:
"Oh no, Senior, it's so late. My afternoon class is about to start. I need to get back to school quickly."
"Ah? It's late already?"
Chu Feifei also checked the time on her phone,
a look of reluctance on her face, her tone carrying a hint of grievance.
"Alright then, Junior. Go to class quickly; don't be late."
"Mm-hmm, Senior, I'll be going then."
Lin Chen nodded and waved to her, his tone a bit shy.
"Senior, thanks for the milk tea today. It was delicious. Next time I get the chance, it's my treat."
"Okay, okay, Junior. Go to class; don't rush."
Chu Feifei also waved back, her tone considerate.
"Junior, remember to stay in touch on WeChat. I'll ask you out again next time."
"Okay, Senior, I will. Goodbye, Senior."
Lin Chen smiled and turned to run toward the school. After a few steps,
he even looked back at her on purpose, a shy smile on his face.
Watching Lin Chen's receding figure, the reluctance on Chu Feifei's face vanished instantly,
replaced by a brilliant smile, her eyes full of pride and anticipation.
She took out her phone and quickly sent Lin Chen a WeChat message:
"Junior, be careful on the way. Don't run too fast,"
"listen carefully in class, and remember to message me when you're done~"
After sending it, the smile on Chu Feifei's lips grew even more smug.
Leaning against a streetlight by the road, she looked at her phone screen and thought to herself:
"Chen Qian, just you wait for me to slap your face!"
