Chapter 82 The Size You Measured Yourself

She was truly shocked.

Lin Chen usually wore ordinary sportswear; even if the fabric was from a big brand,

he didn't look like a "boss" no matter how you sliced it.

He always took taxis when going out,

showing none of the confidence one would expect from someone running an investment firm.

Lin Chen looked at her dumbfounded expression,

his tone so calm it didn't hold a hint of boasting:

"I'm planning to go to Hong Kong to register an investment company and do some investing. I want to take some risks while I'm still young."

Li Sisi's gaze was very strange,

a mix of shock and confusion wrapped in disbelief.

She reached out and gently poked his arm, a teasing smile hanging on her lips:

"You're not joking, are you?"

"My little brother was hiding his light under a bushel; you can actually afford to open an investment company?"

As she spoke, she leaned forward,

the tip of her nose almost touching his cheek, her tone slightly playful:

"Could it be that I've struck gold and found a Second-generation rich little brother?"

"Does this mean I can follow you and live a life of leisure and luxury from now on?"

Lin Chen burst out laughing at her teasing,

reaching out to rub her hair.

His tone carried a bit of playful pride, yet was exceptionally serious:

"What Second-generation rich? I'm a bona fide First-generation rich."

"I'm not messing with you, I'm telling the truth."

Seeing that there wasn't the slightest hint of a joke in his eyes,

the teasing on Li Sisi's face slowly faded,

and her tone became serious as she asked tentatively:

"Then how much do you plan to invest?"

"An investment company isn't small change; it's not something you can just open on a whim."

Lin Chen picked up some food and chewed slowly,

stating it as casually as if he were saying 'the weather is nice today':

"I'll start with fifty million to test the waters, and add more if it's not enough."

Li Sisi's voice instantly shot up,

the chopsticks in her hand freezing in mid-air,

her eyes widening into circles:

"Fifty million?!"

"You're not joking with me, are you?"

Lin Chen frowned slightly, his tone remaining flat:

"Fifty million isn't enough?"

"Then a hundred million is fine too; anyway, it's enough to use."

As soon as those words fell, Li Sisi couldn't even chew the food in her mouth anymore.

It tasted like wax as she stared blankly at Lin Chen,

the words 'one hundred million' the only thing spinning in her mind.

She swallowed hard, her speech becoming a bit stuttered,

yet she couldn't help but probe further:

"You... you're teasing your big sister, right?"

Her eyes kept darting over Lin Chen's body,

her mind in a mess:

"This little brother is way too low-key."

"To be this rich and not show it at all... could I really have picked up a golden nugget?"

Suppressing the shock in her heart, she teased him again,

wanting to see if he was just bragging.

Lin Chen didn't mind her teasing at all;

instead, he reached out and took her hand, his tone exceptionally serious,

his eyes full of doting affection:

"I'm not teasing you; every word is true."

"It's because you're my woman that I'm willing to tell you this,"

"and I also want you to stay by my side and help me manage the company."

He paused and added:

"Once the company is established, you'll be in charge of administrative management."

"It won't be too tiring, and I'll pay you double what you're making now."

"If you do well, there'll be raises and bonuses. How about it?"

The smile on Li Sisi's face vanished completely.

She stared into his eyes with absolute seriousness,

trying to find any trace of a joke,

but there was only genuine sincerity and doting.

Her heart suddenly raced,

her voice trembling with anticipation:

"Are you serious?"

"You're really letting me work at your company?"

"You're not lying to me?"

"Yeah, I'm not lying. I'm serious."

Lin Chen nodded, picked up his phone,

unlocked it, opened his banking app, and held it directly in front of her.

"See for yourself; this is my balance."

"It's enough to start a company, and enough to take care of you for a lifetime."

Li Sisi took the phone with trembling hands.

Looking down, she instantly sucked in a breath of cold air,

her eyes widening so much they could fit an egg—a balance of a full hundred million was on the screen,

the long string of zeros making her eyes blur.

"Oh... my god..."

Her voice was choked with emotion, and her eyes turned red.

She looked up at Lin Chen, her tone full of disbelief,

"You're actually this rich..."

"But you never show off. You dress simply, you don't put on airs when you go out,"

"and even after we got together, you still treat me as well as before. I really can't believe it."

Her heart was in turmoil, filled with shock, being moved,

and a small sense of inferiority.

She couldn't help but wonder:

"I was the one who took the initiative to flirt with him, and I'm several years older than him."

"I'm not exactly some world-class beauty either."

"There are plenty of people younger and prettier than me. What exactly does he see in me?"

She had encountered rich people before; they were all arrogant,

changing women like clothes and never treating anyone with sincerity.

But Lin Chen was different—rich but not flashy,

young but steady. His kindness to her was always genuine,

without a hint of perfunctoriness. Even after revealing his wealth,

his original heart hadn't changed.

At that moment, Li Sisi's feelings for him deepened several-fold; it wouldn't be an exaggeration to say she was now completely devoted to him.

She knew she had truly found a treasure this time.

Seeing her eyes turn red,

Lin Chen reached out and gently wiped away the moisture from the corners of her eyes, his tone so tender it could melt water:

"Silly girl, whether I have money or not has nothing to do with treating you well."

"I like you not for any other reason, but because you are Li Sisi,"

"the Li Sisi who took the initiative to flirt with me, who cooks for me, and who is gentle and considerate to me."

"Regardless of whether I have money, my kindness toward you won't change."

Li Sisi was moved to tears by his words.

She suddenly threw herself into his arms, hugging him tightly, her voice choked:

"Thank you, Lin Chen. Thank you for being so good to me."

"Silly girl, why are you thanking me?"

Lin Chen gently patted her back, his tone doting.

"Stop crying. The food is getting cold; have a few more bites."

After eating a while longer, Lin Chen put down his chopsticks,

rubbed his stomach, and said with satisfaction:

"I'm full. I'm going to take a shower first to wash off the fatigue."

"Okay."

Li Sisi nodded and said with a smile,

"I bought you two sets of clothes and a set of pajamas."

"They're all bought according to your size."

"I'll go get them for you now, so you can change into them after your shower."

"You even specifically bought clothes for me?"

Lin Chen's eyes were full of surprise, and his heart felt warm.

He had never told her his size,

yet she could buy them just right; she had clearly put thought into it.

Li Sisi nodded with a smile and turned to the bedroom to get the clothes.

Lin Chen took the clothes and walked into the bathroom.

He turned on the hot water, and the warm stream washed over his body, instantly dissipating the day's fatigue.

His mind was filled with Li Sisi's image,

and that suggestive phrase "nourish yourself more" caused the flame in his heart to begin burning again.

After showering, Lin Chen changed into the pajamas Li Sisi had bought.

The size was just right, and the fabric was soft and comfortable.

They carried a faint fragrance, clearly something she had chosen with care.

He walked out of the bathroom just as Li Sisi finished tidying up the kitchen.

Li Sisi looked at him in the pajamas,

her eyes brightening as a gentle smile curled her lips:

"They fit quite well. I told you the size I picked would definitely be right."

Lin Chen looked at her, a wicked grin appearing on his face.

He stepped closer to her, reached out to grasp her waist,

and pulled her into his arms, his tone suggestive and teasing:

"Of course. Since it's the size you measured yourself, how could it be wrong?"

"I suspect you've been secretly measuring my size for a long time, just waiting to buy me clothes."

"How annoying, who would secretly measure your size?"

Li Sisi's cheeks turned bright red at his words,

and she gave him a gentle push.
