Chapter 6 Twin Classmates, A Tale of Two Extremes
[If the Host establishes a long-term relationship with the Beauty Su Qingran, there will be Blind Box rewards.]
Lin Chen raised an eyebrow, a playful smile flashing in his eyes.
He had originally only wanted to temporarily ease the relationship, but he didn't expect to accidentally trigger a system mechanism.
"Embarrassment avoidance?"
"And Blind Box rewards!"
He whispered softly and touched the screen to close the pop-up window.
However, such a stunning Beauty, and my first woman at that—I've already fallen in love with that feeling and scent.
"Take it slow. One day, I'll make you let down your guard!"
On the surface, he spoke lightly to Su Qingran, but in reality, his heart was already starting to stir.
In the distance, Wang Hao was walking with his arms around the shoulders of several newly met boys, glancing back at Lin Chen from time to time with eyes full of provocation.
Lin Chen withdrew his gaze, a cold arc curling at the corner of his mouth. Revenge and bonds intertwined.
His university life was destined not to be peaceful.
The next day, the class organized self-introductions for the freshmen; the atmosphere was relaxed and lively.
Students chatted in small groups in low voices, their eyes filled with curiosity about their new classmates. Occasional laughter rang out, dispelling the sense of unfamiliarity of just entering the campus.
Lin Chen sat by the window, his fingertips resting carelessly on the edge of the desk.
His gaze, however, unconsciously fell on two girls in the front row.
They were a pair of identical twins, both wearing simple white T-shirts and light blue jeans.
Their jet-black long hair fell over their shoulders, and their figures were slender and graceful, yet their temperaments were worlds apart.
One had her back straight, the lines of her profile cold and hard, exuding a sense of aloofness that warned others to stay away.
The other had her shoulders slightly slumped, her fingertips gently twisting the hem of her shirt, her eyes full of docility and shyness.
Lin Chen raised an eyebrow and thought to himself that this pair of twins was quite interesting—one like ice, the other like water.
The self-introductions proceeded in order of seating. Some were witty and humorous, drawing roars of laughter from the audience.
Some were steady and reserved, clear and concise in just a few sentences.
There were also girls who were shy and bashful, their cheeks flushing as they spoke, drawing bursts of well-meaning applause from the audience.
Soon, it was the twins' turn in the front row.
They were the class beauties; even in a campus belle competition, they would likely rank near the top.
Because of their outstanding looks and ample bosoms, the most important point was that the two were identical.
The one who stood up first was the girl with the cold temperament. She walked to the podium with crisp, clean movements.
She folded her arms across her chest, outlining an even fuller curve that drew the focus of all the boys in the class.
Her gaze swept calmly across the room, her face devoid of any extra expression, and her tone was as cold as a layer of thin ice.
"Hello everyone, my name is Xia Wanqing. This is my younger sister, Xia Wanrou."
"We are twins. Please take care of us from now on."
She finished her self-introduction with just that short sentence. She didn't even stay for a second longer, turning around and walking back to her seat.
Throughout the entire process, she didn't even give anyone an extra glance.
Only when her gaze swept past Lin Chen's direction did she pause for half a second.
A clear flash of disgust and contempt flickered in her eyes, as if she had seen something unsightly, before she indifferently looked away.
Lin Chen was stunned for a moment, then quickly realized.
He looked down at the black Adidas short-sleeve shirt and brand-new sneakers he was wearing, instantly understanding the reason for Xia Wanqing's dislike.
She probably thought he was deliberately wearing brands to show off, pigeonholing him as an uneducated, flashy Second-generation rich.
To this, Lin Chen smiled indifferently, his fingertips lightly tapping the desk as he returned his attention to the podium.
Compared to the misunderstandings of others, he was more accustomed to using time to prove himself; there was no need to waste energy on a bit of inexplicable hostility.
Immediately following, Xia Wanrou slowly stood up.
Completely different from her sister's cold arrogance, her cheeks were tinged with a faint blush, and her eyes were gentle and shy.
She walked with light steps, as if afraid of disturbing others.
Walking to the podium, she bowed slightly, her voice as soft as a spring breeze over a lake, with a hint of sweetness.
"Hello everyone, I am Xia Wanrou. I am very happy to be classmates with all of you. If you ever need help with anything, feel free to come to me."
Her voice wasn't loud, but it was exceptionally moving. Her eyes swept across the room sincerely, carrying just the right amount of kindness.
As she finished speaking, warm applause immediately broke out in the classroom.
Some boys even whispered praises like "so gentle" and "so cute."
Hearing the praise, Xia Wanrou's cheeks turned even redder.
Lin Chen's system panel appeared once again.
[Scanning target females Xia Wanqing and Xia Wanrou.]
[Appearance: 92 points.]
[Height: 165 cm.]
[Figure: 95 points.]
[Health: Good.]
[Bust: 37E.]
[Sexual experience: 0.]
[Overall score: 95+. Combined score: 96. In-depth interaction can yield rewards like super big blind boxes.]
[Fits the scumbag system's capture targets.]
They really did look identical, and their looks were outstanding—especially that pair of big globes, which seemed even larger than Su Qingran's.
I really don't know what they ate to grow like that.
Xia Wanrou didn't have her sister's coldness; instead, she took the initiative to show a sweet smile.
Her eyes curved like they were filled with starlight before she quickly walked back to her seat.
After the self-introductions, Teacher Su announced a period of free interaction, and the classroom instantly became lively.
Students stood up one after another to find like-minded partners, adding each other's contact information and sharing their interests.
Lin Chen leaned back in his chair and was taking out his phone to check his messages when he saw Xia Wanrou clutching a small object, hesitating by her seat for a long time.
Her eyes darted toward Lin Chen from time to time, then she quickly lowered her head.
Her fingertips repeatedly rubbed the object in her hand, her cheeks flushed, looking nervous and conflicted.
After a while, she took a deep breath as if she had made a huge decision.
She walked toward Lin Chen with small steps, her voice as faint as a mosquito's buzz:
"Student Lin Chen, h-hello."
"This... this is for you."
Lin Chen looked up and saw her handing over a pink woolen pendant.
It was a lifelike little bunny with long ears and eyes sewn with small black beads.
The workmanship was exquisite and cute, with the edges carefully finished; it was clear that a lot of thought had gone into handmade it.
Lin Chen reached out and took the pendant. As his fingertips touched the soft wool, his heart felt unexpectedly warm. Looking at Xia Wanrou's blushing cheeks, he said with a smile:
"Thank you, Student Wanrou."
"This pendant is very cute. I like it a lot."
It looks like there's a chance; once the charm value goes up, it really is different.
It's just that her sister Xia Wanqing seems to really dislike him, even though he hasn't offended her.
"I'm glad you like it."
Xia Wanrou replied after hearing his words, her eyes brightening, but her cheeks turned even redder.
She quickly lowered her head and whispered, "Then I'll be going now."
She then ran back to her seat like a startled little rabbit, unable to help but pant softly as she sat down.
As soon as she settled in, Xia Wanqing immediately reached out and pulled her arm, her tone full of dissatisfaction.
She also glanced warily at Lin Chen and whispered:
"Wanrou, why are you getting so close to him?"
