Chapter 23 Who's Fishing Whom?
She thought as she drove, eventually choosing the top five-star hotel near the Xingcheng University Town area.
She specifically booked a luxury suite with a dining room and bedroom,
so that she would have the opportunity to completely win over Lin Chen.
The car sped along, and before long, it arrived at the entrance of the Boyue Five-Star Hotel near the Xingcheng University Town area.
The grand revolving doors, uniformed doormen, and the magnificent lobby,
exuded an air of high-end luxury even from a distance,
forming a sharp contrast with the surrounding campus atmosphere.
Su Wan parked the car steadily, then quickly got out and walked around to Lin Chen's side.
She respectfully opened the car door for him, her tone still sweet and obedient:
“Mr. Lin, we're here. We'll have lunch here.”
Lin Chen pushed open the door and got out, looking up at the extraordinary hotel before him.
A trace of surprise and bewilderment intentionally showed in his eyes, as if it were his first time seeing such a luxurious place.
Of course, it wasn't his first time at a five-star hotel; he was just deliberately putting on this worldly-inexperienced act,
going along with Su Wan's wishes to see exactly what tricks she was up to.
“Is this... a five-star hotel?”
Lin Chen spoke with feigned hesitation, his tone carrying a hint of ignorance.
“There's no need to come to such an expensive place just for lunch, is there?”
Su Wan felt secretly smug; it was just as she had expected.
With a gentle smile still on her face, she explained softly:
“Mr. Lin, you are my benefactor. You gave me such a huge order; how could I wrong you for just a single lunch?”
“Besides, the environment here is quiet and offers great privacy,”
“so we can eat in peace and chat more. After all, we're friends now.”
She spoke tactfully and reasonably, giving Lin Chen plenty of face,
while also subtly hinting at 'privacy,' a faint trace of calculation hidden in her eyes.
Lin Chen understood perfectly, but on the surface, he still acted as if he had just realized, nodding his head:
“Oh, I see. Then I'll be troubling you.”
“It's no trouble at all, Mr. Lin. Please, after you.”
Su Wan quickly stepped aside to lead the way, making a welcoming gesture, the smile in her eyes deepening.
She thought Lin Chen truly didn't understand her intentions and that her plan was progressing smoothly,
unaware that she had already walked step by step into the trap Lin Chen had set.
From this moment on, this game of acting for real had truly begun.
The two walked into the hotel lobby, where Su Wan skillfully showed her booking information to the front desk.
The front desk staff respectfully handed over the room card, their tone humble:
“Miss Su, the luxury suite you booked is ready. It's on the 18th floor. Here is your room card.”
Su Wan took the room card and turned to hand it to Lin Chen, her smile gentle:
“Mr. Lin, our room is on the 18th floor,”
“It has a separate dining room and bedroom, making it very convenient for eating and resting.”
Lin Chen took the room card, his fingertips lightly stroking it as he spoke with feigned confusion, his tone carrying a bit of puzzlement:
“Huh? Why do we have to eat in a room?”
“I thought it would be in the restaurant downstairs.”
This was exactly what Su Wan wanted to hear, and she quickly soothed him, her tone carrying a hint of subtle ambiguity:
“Mr. Lin, the restaurant downstairs is crowded and noisy; it's not as quiet as a room.”
“And I specifically booked a suite because I wanted you to eat comfortably and be more relaxed.”
“Don't worry, the room is very clean. It definitely won't make you feel uncomfortable.”
“Alright, I'll listen to you.”
Lin Chen nodded with feigned compliance, but a playful glint flashed in his eyes.
He wanted to cooperate with Su Wan step by step, making her feel like she was in control of everything,
only to turn the tables when the time was right. The feeling of prey delivering itself to his doorstep was truly exhilarating.
The two took the elevator to the 18th floor. Su Wan swiped the card to open the door and stepped aside to let Lin Chen in first:
“Mr. Lin, please come in.”
Lin Chen pushed the door open and entered, intentionally slowing his pace,
his gaze slowly scanning the entire room, a perfectly measured look of surprise appearing on his face.
The room was enormous and luxuriously decorated, with marble floors polished to a mirror-like shine.
In the living room sat soft leather sofas, and to one side was a beautifully decorated separate dining area,
featuring a round dining table already set with exquisite tableware.
On the other side was a spacious bedroom. Outside the floor-to-ceiling windows was a beautiful view of the University Town, blending luxury with a touch of warmth.
“Wow, the view here is really nice...”
Lin Chen muttered to himself, his tone full of 'wonder,' like a country bumpkin entering a grand estate.
He reached out to lightly touch the sofa and then looked at the tableware on the dining table, acting as if he had never seen the world before.
“I didn't expect Star City to have such a luxurious room.”
Su Wan followed him into the room and gently closed the door.
Seeing Lin Chen like this, her confidence grew even stronger. She stepped forward, lightly tugging at Lin Chen's sleeve, her tone flirtatious:
“Mr. Lin, please sit down. I'll get you a glass of water, and the food will be delivered shortly.”
“Okay.”
Lin Chen sat compliantly on the sofa, his gaze seemingly wandering around the room,
but in reality, he was constantly watching Su Wan's every move, secretly calculating,
when to start faking drunkenness so it wouldn't seem abrupt and would naturally advance the plot.
Su Wan quickly poured a glass of warm water and handed it to Lin Chen, then sat down beside him,
at a distance that was neither too far nor too close—maintaining a sense of propriety while also exuding a hint of ambiguity.
She occasionally found topics to chat with Lin Chen about, asking him about his life at the university one moment,
and praising him for being young and promising the next. Her tone was full of admiration and flattery, and the emotion in her eyes grew increasingly intense.
Before long, the hotel Waiter pushed a dining cart and delivered the meal.
Exquisite dishes filled the entire dining table—fish, meat, delicate desserts, and red wine—the aroma wafting through the air.
“Mr. Lin, the food is here. Let's go eat.”
Su Wan quickly stood up and reached out to help Lin Chen, her tone sweet:
“I specifically ordered dishes I thought you might like. I'm not sure if they'll suit your taste, so please try them.”
Lin Chen stood up and followed Su Wan to the dining table.
Su Wan quickly picked up the wine bottle and skillfully poured him a glass of red wine,
then poured one for herself. She raised her glass, looking at Lin Chen with eyes full of affection:
“Mr. Lin, I'd like to propose a toast to you. Thank you for trusting me so much and for being willing to be my friend.”
Lin Chen picked up his glass and clinked it with hers with feigned restraint, a faint smile on his lips:
“No need to be so polite; we're friends.”
The two lightly clinked glasses, and Su Wan tilted her head back to take a large gulp of red wine, a flash of urgency in her eyes.
She wanted to get Lin Chen drunk as soon as possible and take advantage of his intoxication to completely win him over,
becoming the first woman in his life.
But she didn't know that someone had already taken Lin Chen's first time.
Did she not know the saying that a man's mouth is a lying ghost?
Especially since she had encountered a scumbag!
