Chapter 216 The Policewoman's Letter

"What a gamble!"

Lin Chen thought to himself, *What a bunch of idiots.*

They certainly couldn't have imagined that ten years later, in 2024, miHoYo would be a massive global company with a market valuation exceeding 200 billion.

I remember the valuation from the 2024 Hurun Global Rich List: according to the "2024 Global Unicorn Index" released by the Hurun Research Institute, miHoYo's valuation was 160 billion, ranking 12th globally and 5th in China.

Lin Chen took out the signed agreement, waved it in front of Zhang Kai, and spoke in an indifferent tone.

"The agreement is right here. Mr. Liu, Mr. Cai, and Mr. Luo can all bear witness."

"Do I look like I'm joking?"

Liu Wei could finally hold back no longer and announced in a clear voice:

"That's right. Mr. Lin has indeed invested 50 million in capital for a 10% stake in miHoYo. The agreement has been signed, and the funds will arrive shortly."

"From now on, Mr. Lin is an important shareholder of miHoYo!"

Cai Haoyu added:

"With Mr. Lin's support, we no longer need to worry about funding for the development of *Genshin Impact*."

His tone was calm, yet carried a sense of vindicated determination.

Zhang Kai looked at the agreement, then at Lin Chen's calm face, and finally at the determination and confidence on the faces of Liu Wei and the others. He felt a stinging pain on his face, as if he had been slapped hard several times—it was numb and burning.

Lin Chen continued, "This is just the first investment. If miHoYo needs further financing in the future, I have priority for additional investment."

"The fact that I have a registered capital of 100 million doesn't mean that's all I have!"

This statement hit the mark with the thoughts of all the investment banking bigwigs present.

Which of them wasn't adept at playing with leverage?

Turning 100 million into 1 billion worth of tricks was no problem at all.

Lin Chen used real action to slap him hard in the face, and also slapped the faces of this group of so-called "professional investors."

They had previously thought miHoYo was high-risk with low returns, so they rejected the financing request,

hoping to use that to secure greater benefits for themselves,

and even swallow up control of miHoYo.

"Th-this is impossible..."

Zhang Kai muttered to himself, his face turning pale and then green. His previous arrogance and bluster had vanished without a trace.

"Nothing is impossible."

Lin Chen put away the agreement, his tone indifferent, his gaze as sharp as a knife.

"The future you cannot see, I can see. The opportunities you dare not bet on, I dare to bet on."

"The world of capital is never about mocking with words; it is about vision and courage."

"You only focus on your own small patch of land; you are destined to only make small money and will never achieve anything great."

He looked at Zhang Kai and the others and continued:

"Today you mock me and ridicule miHoYo. Tomorrow, you will pay the price for today's shortsightedness and arrogance."

"The future of miHoYo is not something you can predict; the potential of *Genshin Impact* is not something you can imagine."

Having said that, Lin Chen stopped looking at the group of investors, whose faces were ugly. He nodded at Liu Wei and the other two, then turned and walked toward his car.

The moment the car door closed, he seemed to hear the suppressed sighs and resentment of Zhang Kai and the others behind him. A faint smile curled at the corners of his mouth.

Liu Wei, Cai Haoyu, and Luo Yuhao stood where they were, watching Lin Chen's car slowly drive away, their faces filled with excitement and grateful smiles.

The giant boulder that had been weighing on their hearts for so long had finally fallen; the skepticism and ridicule they had once faced were completely shattered at this moment.

As for Zhang Kai and his group, they stood at the park entrance like a bunch of clowns whose souls had been sucked out, looking utterly wretched.

They watched the car disappear, then looked at the gates of miHoYo, their hearts filled with regret and resentment.

They knew they had missed a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, a project that could have elevated their company to the next level.

Li Sisi wore an uncontrollable smile:

"Lin Chen, that scene just now was so satisfying!"

"That group of people were going around saying miHoYo was no good and calling you a sucker; now their faces have been slapped swollen!"

Lin Chen leaned back in his seat, closed his eyes, and a hint of a smile played on his lips:

"A bunch of frogs at the bottom of a well; they can't see the potential of anime culture and open-world games."

"miHoYo has the technology, the passion, and the persistence. Once *Genshin Impact* launches, it will inevitably ignite the global market."

"Investing 50 million now will turn into a hundredfold or thousandfold return in the future."

In a hotel room near the Bund in Shanghai.

"Oh, right, Lin Chen,"

Lin Chen looked at Li Sisi, who was holding his arm.

"To celebrate the company completing its first major investment project, I'm going to reward you tonight!"

Li Sisi looked puzzled.

"Reward me with what?"

Lin Chen smiled amusedly.

He leaned against her slightly flushed cheek and whispered into her ear.

"I'm rewarding us with some bare-skinned combat tonight."

"You pervert..."

Lin Chen closed the door.

And then...

The next morning.

Li Sisi: "The finance department just sent a message saying the funds are ready and can be transferred to the miHoYo account at any time."

"Also, I heard that the news of our investment in miHoYo has accidentally leaked, and the industry is already in an uproar."

Lin Chen opened his eyes, his gaze clear:

"Oh? Tell me, how is the industry reacting?"

"Many investment firms are mocking our new company for lacking vision. They are waiting to watch us lose money."

Li Sisi smiled amusedly.

Lin Chen chuckled.

"Heh, a bunch of idiots!"

"Since the peers here in Shanghai look down on us, let's go back."

"I think by the time we come back next time, they will be looking up to us."

Just past two in the afternoon, Lin Chen and Li Sisi landed in Star City.

As the plane taxied onto the tarmac and Lin Chen stepped out of the cabin door and turned on his phone signal, his phone vibrated violently.

He took it out and saw it was full of WeChat messages from Huang Jiayi,

one after another, dripping with a young girl's coquettishness.

"Lin Chen, what have you been busy with lately?"

"You promised to practice Sanda with me, remember?"

"It's been half a month!"

"I haven't even seen your shadow, and you haven't even taken the initiative to ask me out once."

"So I, a girl, have to be the one to initiate contact with you, right?"

"That's too much!"

Lin Chen looked at the screen, his mouth curling up unconsciously, and he chuckled to himself:

"Damn, I've been so busy with this and that, with too many fish in my pond, I actually forgot about this charming little Police Flower!"

That devilish smile hung on his face, with a hint of mischief hidden in his eyes. His fingers tapped quickly on the screen, replying swiftly and cleverly:

"Sorry, sorry, Jiayi. I went to Hong Kong for National Day, and this past week back at school has been full of nonsense, I've been swamped."

"Look, I just got off the plane and am still at the airport. I'm not lying to you."

"Honestly, I was just planning to ask you to practice Sanda tonight. I didn't expect you to reach out first. Are we in sync?"
