25: Chapter 25 Secret Realm Construction 2
With the location finalized, Mo Yufei hesitated no longer. With a flick of his mind, barrels upon barrels of tightly sealed gasoline and diesel, along with two large oil tanks, were all moved out from his Storage Space, landing steadily on the open ground to the left of his residence.
Mo Yufei deliberately placed the fuel barrels in pairs, leaving a safe distance between them, and then fetched a tarp from the tool shed to carefully cover the fuel pile.
Except for the two large oil tanks, everything else was covered with several tents to provide sun, moisture, and fire protection, eliminating all potential safety hazards.
All food supplies were moved into the kitchen RV on the left, and the tools and hardware were all categorized into the tool RV on the right. Now, only the last batch of daily necessities and household appliances remained.
Mo Yufei first picked up the neatly stacked change of clothes, quilts, pillows, and bed sheets, and walked straight into the bedroom area of the main RV.
Opening the large-capacity built-in wardrobe in the bedroom, he hung his clothes by category on the clothing rod. The bedding was folded squarely and stacked layer by layer in the lower drawers and storage compartments of the wardrobe, filling it completely. His undergarments were also properly put away, making them very convenient to access.
The remaining daily necessities, such as toothpaste, toothbrushes, towels, toiletries, skincare sets, tissues, and wet wipes, were moved to the RV's washroom. They were placed on the vanity, storage shelves, and wall cabinets, close to the daily use area, so they could be grabbed easily, completely settling all living sundries.
Finally, all that remained were the large batch of household appliances scavenged from the Mall. However, the RV was already well-equipped with all kinds of appliances. These brand-new items were completely unnecessary for the moment and could only be kept as backups.
Mo Yufei pondered for a moment, then turned to the tool RV to take out a tent. He walked to the open area on the left side of the courtyard, chose a flat and dry spot, and skillfully set up the tent. He fixed the ground stakes, tightened the guy lines, and soon erected a spacious large tent.
He moved the backup appliances into the tent, stacking them neatly according to size and category. Computers and tablets were placed on the inside, while large appliances were placed toward the outside. He even specifically laid down a waterproof tarp as a base to provide moisture protection.
After finishing all this, seeing that all supplies were in their proper places, with clear divisions for the kitchen, tool room, bedroom, and washroom, and the backup appliances properly stored, the courtyard inside and out was clean and orderly. Mo Yufei finally breathed a sigh of relief, a relaxed expression appearing on his face.
Having been busy from dawn until dusk, he had finally arranged all the supplies by category. The courtyard and the inside and outside of the RVs were orderly, and a wave of exhaustion began to surge through his bones.
Mo Yufei let out a long sigh, dragging his slightly heavy footsteps toward the living room of the RV where he lived, just wanting to get inside and collapse to rest for a while.
His fingertips gripped the RV door handle, and with a gentle twist, he pushed open the cabin door. Just as he stepped into the living room, he subconsciously raised his hand to press the light switch by the door.
The moment his fingertips pressed down, the expected bright light did not turn on. The living room was pitch black. The vehicle's central control screen, which had been in standby mode, was completely dark, and even the faint sound of the air conditioner and the subtle motor sounds of the appliances vanished without a trace.
Mo Yufei froze in place, raising his hand to press the switch a few more times, but there was still no reaction. It instantly dawned on him that the RV's battery must have been completely drained.
The relaxation and comfort of having finished all his tasks were instantly swept away by this sudden power outage. Standing in the pitch-black living room, looking at the darkness before him, his exhaustion was compounded by a sense of unexpected helplessness.
The RV had completely lost power, and he urgently needed to restore the power supply. Mo Yufei turned and walked straight toward the tool RV on the side.
He pulled open the cabinet door of the tool RV and took out a high-power silent generator. Using both hands, he moved the heavy machine to the back of the main RV, choosing a well-ventilated and stable spot to place it securely.
Afterward, he rummaged through the tool pile to find a thick charging cable. He plugged one end firmly into the generator's output port and precisely connected the other end to the dedicated power input port on the outside of the main RV.
Confirming that the connections were correct, he turned on the generator switch. The low, steady sound of the engine started up, and electric current flowed continuously through the cable into the RV.
Mo Yufei immediately returned to the main RV's living room and pressed the light switch. Warm white light instantly illuminated the entire cabin, the central control screen lit up again, and the appliances inside the vehicle returned to standby mode. The power supply was completely restored.
He walked to the central console to check the charging status of the RV battery. After confirming that the generator was working properly, he inadvertently looked up through the skylight and caught a glimpse of the photovoltaic panels covering the roof.
"Damn it!"
Mo Yufei slapped his forehead violently and came to his senses with a look of annoyance. Only then did he suddenly remember that this RV came with a built-in solar power generation system.
He had been so dizzyingly busy that he had completely forgotten such an important device! There was sunlight in the Secret Realm right now, so he could be completely self-sufficient relying solely on solar energy; there was no need to keep burning fuel to run the generator.
Thinking of this, Mo Yufei immediately picked up the smart touch screen inside the vehicle, found the solar panel control option, and first started the solar power panels of the main RV.
He heard a slight mechanical sound from the roof. The folding photovoltaic panels slowly unfolded, aligning to maximize exposure to the sunlight, and began to automatically absorb solar energy to charge.
Immediately after, he walked quickly off the RV and went to the kitchen RV on the left and the tool RV on the right, respectively. Through the touch panels inside the vehicles, he started the solar power panels on the roofs of these two RVs one by one.
The solar panels of all three RVs were fully unfolded, shimmering with a pale blue light under the sun, and they began to store electrical energy simultaneously.
Mo Yufei looked at this scene and let out a long sigh of relief. With continuous power supply from solar energy, he could save fuel and ensure long-term power usage for the RVs, no longer needing to worry about the problem of sudden power outages.
After starting the solar panels that came with the RVs, Mo Yufei suddenly remembered that he still had a large batch of brand-new, complete solar power generation equipment in his Storage Space, which he had scavenged from the RV warehouse.
Since there was sunlight in the Secret Realm right now, it was the best time to install them. With multiple solar systems operating at the same time, he would never have to worry about electricity usage in the future.
With a thought, the complete set of equipment from his Storage Space—including solar panels, energy storage batteries, inverters, connection cables, and control instruments—was continuously moved out and piled up in the open space of the courtyard, covering the ground with parts of all sizes.
However, Mo Yufei searched through all the supplies, but he hadn't prepared any special installation brackets. These must have been for RV use, and there were no brackets for placing them on the ground.
Looking at the huge solar panels before him, Mo Yufei looked around and soon set his sights on a relatively flat stone wall outside the courtyard.
He lifted the solar panels one by one and leaned them against the stone wall, adjusting the tilt angle just right to maximize exposure to the sunlight, ensuring they were steady and wouldn't slide down.
Next came the tedious and headache-inducing task of connecting the wiring. Mo Yufei had never systematically dealt with this kind of circuit installation before, so he could only bite the bullet, unpack the equipment manuals, read them carefully word by word, and compare the wiring and distinguish the positive and negative poles against the diagrams bit by bit.
First, he arranged all the energy storage batteries neatly on the ground according to the markings in the manual. Then, he sorted out the series and parallel circuits one by one, connecting the interfaces for the inverters, controllers, and main charging lines one by one, being extremely cautious with every step.
However, the wiring for this set of equipment was complex with numerous interfaces. Coupled with the fact that he was already exhausted from days of hard work, he spent over two full hours on it.
Mo Yufei wiped the fine beads of sweat covering his forehead, and his arms had become sore and numb from the repeated wiring work.
