66: Chapter 66 I Come from Yanhuang

Mo Yufei steadied his mind and looked calmly at the two Federal Agents opposite him, whose polite attitudes masked a hidden scrutiny.

He quickly organized his wording in his mind, planning to start fabricating a story, but he had to maintain logic and carefully handle this inquiry that concerned his own situation, ensuring he did not reveal a single flaw.

The two Federal Agents sat upright with gentle expressions, carrying an air of polite anticipation. Their eyes were mild yet sharp, calmly observing Mo Yufei's demeanor, attempting to capture subtle clues from his micro-expressions.

The young Federal Agent on the right kept his head down the entire time, with a holographic recording board placed before him. His expression was focused and solemn, and he remained silent, his fingertips hovering over the virtual keyboard, waiting for Mo Yufei to speak so he could record every word without error.

Gathering his thoughts, Mo Yufei began to fabricate his story, incorporating the information about the Fragment World that Wang Chen had previously told him.

"I come from the Yanhuang Tribe. In the Fragment World, we are the only Yanhuang Tribe; there are no other clans, and I have never heard of any core of the Fragment World."

"The top leaders in our tribe are all survivors from before the Great Collapse era—that is, the people from the era you speak of, before the world shattered."

Upon hearing this, the Federal Agent's originally gentle gaze instantly became a bit more solemn; like the indigenous people in other Fragment Worlds, he had not heard of a world core either.

Or perhaps he had seen it but did not recognize it, because this person carried the aura of a core, indicating that the place where he once lived was very close to the Fragment World core.

This Federal Agent did not expect to find the location of the secret realm core from this person's mouth immediately, but he was clearly particularly concerned about the information regarding "survivors from before the Great Collapse era."

He did not interrupt immediately, merely signaling for Mo Yufei to continue, the sense of scrutiny in his eyes deepening.

Hearing this, the recording Federal Agent's fingertips immediately began to tap rapidly, and text appeared swiftly on the holographic recording board. He did not look up, focusing solely on recording, his breathing becoming extremely light.

Seeing this, Mo Yufei continued methodically: "Because the laws of the Fragment World were completely overturned during the Great Collapse, the vast majority of our clansmen could not escape the catastrophe and all perished."

"By the time I was born, the Fragment World had slowly stabilized, but the living environment remained extremely difficult."

"The tribal elders often said that the spiritual energy concentration in the Fragment World far exceeds any era they knew of. Logically speaking, for our human race, this is a tremendous opportunity."

"With the base population of the human race from the original world, such abundant spiritual energy would have been enough to raise the overall strength of the entire human race by several levels."

Hearing this, the Federal Agent who had been silently listening to Mo Yufei's account relaxed his brow slightly, his eyes filled with a bit more inquiry.

He nodded slightly, signaling for Mo Yufei to continue, clearly digesting this information seriously and attempting to judge its authenticity.

The recording Federal Agent never stopped, recording every sentence accurately without the slightest omission.

"But the problem is," Mo Yufei changed the subject, adding a touch of deliberately feigned helplessness to his tone.

"The population of our Yanhuang Tribe is too scarce, and the speed of reproducing offspring is extremely slow. Even though the new generation in the tribe has talent far exceeding ordinary people at birth, their growth cycle is too long, and they simply cannot form combat power in a short time."

"As a result, the massive amount of spiritual energy instead benefited the exotic beasts in the Fragment World."

"Before the world collapsed, our tribe was originally close to the gathering areas of exotic beasts, but after the Great Collapse, the exotic beasts bred wantonly in the Fragment World, and their reproduction speed was extremely fast."

"They could produce a litter in a month, their numbers growing explosively. Before long, the entire Fragment World became the home turf of the exotic beasts."

These words made the expressions of the two Federal Agents even more serious, their eyes full of deep thought.

The Federal Agent responsible for recording stopped his fingertips, his gaze locked firmly on Mo Yufei, and finally spoke to ask a question, his tone steady and rigorous, yet not lacking patience.

"According to what you said, the tribe has been besieged by exotic beasts for a long time, and your living space is limited. How did you manage to defend the tribe and maintain your livelihood while surrounded by exotic beasts?"

"We can only huddle inside the tribe, relying on the tribe's defensive barrier to survive," Mo Yufei replied calmly, having been prepared long ago.

"The strong within the tribe would regularly lead teams out to hunt. Firstly, to obtain survival supplies, and secondly, to clear out the beast herds around the tribe to prevent exotic beasts from gathering to besiege the tribe."

"Fortunately, the tribe has those few high-level leaders from before the Great Collapse era holding the fort. They are powerful and experienced. With their protection, the tribe has been able to remain safe and sound, and not be trampled by the exotic beasts."

The other Federal Agent said: "I hear you say that there are several high-level figures in your clan who are all ancient survivors from before the Great Collapse catastrophe."

"Since you know their origins, why not tell us their names? We can access the Federal database to compare them with our archives; we might be able to find relevant historical records."

Mo Yufei's heart gave a sudden jolt, and a trace of imperceptible shock flashed in the depths of his eyes.

He had never expected the Federal Agents to be so meticulous, and even less did he expect that their database could actually search for information on personnel from the ancient era.

In a split second, Mo Yufei suppressed his emotions and kept his face calm, thinking to himself that since they wanted to check, he would just make it up for them to hear.

Subsequently, Mo Yufei said indifferently: "The leader of our tribe is called Lord Pangu, the Life Priest is Lady Nüwa, and the Prophet is Prophet Fuxi."

"Besides them, there is Suiren-shi who manages the tribe's logistics, Youchao-shi who manages tribe construction, and Ziyi-shi who manages human ethics and etiquette."

"These few are the ancient ancestors who have survived since before the Great Collapse and have always guarded and protected our tribe."

The Federal Agent was stunned upon hearing this and immediately took out his terminal to start entering the names, preparing to access the Federal database to conduct a cross-era historical record search.

The Federal Agent immediately operated his portable terminal, entering names such as Pangu, Nüwa, Prophet Fuxi, Suiren-shi, Youchao-shi, and Ziyi-shi one by one into the Federal central database, initiating a cross-domain historical record search.

Data streams on the screen scrolled rapidly, and lines of search records constantly refreshed. A moment later, it finally settled: no matching archives, no relevant ancient book records, and no personnel records from the Great Collapse era.

During the few seconds of waiting, the only sound in the entire living room was the faint buzzing of the terminal.

After a long while, one Federal Agent frowned and closed the search interface, shaking his head slightly, his tone carrying a sense of matter-of-fact indifference.

"We cannot find any relevant records. The ancient era was already full of great beings and powerful figures like rain. Such powerful figures of a single tribe were not particularly prominent when placed within the top levels of the entire heavens."

He looked up at Mo Yufei and continued to explain: "Plus, the Great Collapse catastrophe swept through the heavens, and countless civilizations' books and ancient databases were all destroyed and annihilated, so the names of a large number of lower and middle-tier powerful figures lost their records directly."

"It is perfectly normal that they were not entered into the Federal database."

The other Federal Agent's gaze was still scrutinizing Mo Yufei, secretly marking these few unfamiliar ancient names into a list of suspicious items to be archived.

Mo Yufei breathed a sigh of relief inwardly, while his expression remained calm and revealed no flaws, though he was cursing in his heart: "Damn it! You should have said earlier that your system wasn't perfect; you scared the hell out of me!"
