27: Chapter 27 Call Me Boss
Mo Yufei first raised his hand and released the frightened Parrot from the space.
The little creature landed on the ground, still maintaining that look of extreme terror, its small body trembling slightly, its eyes filled with fear.
But when it saw the tranquil and secluded environment of the secret realm, felt none of the oppressive pressure that had previously forced it to remain motionless, and sensed no hint of danger, it was stunned for a moment. It tilted its head to look around, then turned to look at Mo Yufei in front of it.
Sensing not a trace of malice or terrifying aura, the Parrot's tense body slowly relaxed, its fluffed-up feathers smoothed down, the look of terror on its face faded bit by bit, and its eyes gradually became lively.
The next second, it flapped its wings twice, tilted its head to look at Mo Yufei, and spoke crisply, spitting out an exceptionally down-to-earth phrase.
"Welcome!"
Mo Yufei looked at the Parrot before him, which had just been scared out of its wits and now, in the blink of an eye, was solemnly saying "Welcome," and was stunned on the spot, then couldn't help but laugh.
"You're really something. You were scared stiff earlier, but now you've learned how to greet guests?"
The Parrot shook its wings, tilted its head to size him up, and chirped: "Handsome, handsome, good food and drink!"
"Still 'handsome'? I think your courage recovered pretty quickly. Where did that scared look from when you used your Wind Blade go?" Mo Yufei said helplessly.
The Parrot immediately put on a haughty air and flapped its feathers: "Wind Blade is powerful, not afraid, not afraid!"
"If you weren't afraid, why were you frozen in place earlier? You were scared pale." He directly called its bluff.
The Parrot was momentarily speechless, then cleverly changed its tune: "Aura suppression, I was just pretending to be afraid!"
Mo Yufei was left between laughter and tears by its retort: "So you're the smartest one, huh?"
The Parrot held its head high and chest out, replying crisply: "That goes without saying!"
The man and the bird went back and forth, bickering, and the atmosphere instantly became much more relaxed.
Afterward, Mo Yufei raised his hand and released the snow-white White Ferret that had been maintaining a discharging posture.
The Parrot on the side recognized it at a glance and immediately flapped its wings excitedly, calling out: "Little White, Little White!"
Listening to it speak so clearly, fluently, and naturally, completely unlike an ordinary bird, with every sentence flowing perfectly.
Mo Yufei sighed inwardly; this Parrot was different now that it had gained intelligence. Its mouth was so smooth, and its human speech was practically masterful.
But after the White Ferret landed, the faint lightning around its body slowly dissipated, and its posture finally relaxed. Yet, it remained tense, hiding far away, never daring to approach Mo Yufei, its eyes filled with vigilance.
Seeing this, the Parrot hurriedly chirped an explanation: "It is especially sensitive to the aura of strangers; it's very shy."
Mo Yufei did not rashly step forward. He just stood where he was, slowly relaxing his aura, suppressing the slightly cold aura of his ability deep within his soul to the faintest level, and softened his tone, gently soothing the vigilant White Ferret: "Don't be afraid, I won't hurt you."
The ability he had obtained by risking his life in the zombie world was not attached to his physical body but was completely integrated into the depths of his soul.
Even after his physical body was reshaped, the ability in his soul remained perfectly preserved.
Mo Yufei looked at the little creature, understanding in his heart, and then slowly activated the soul ability hidden deep within his body.
A gentle yet vast Mental Energy was quietly released, gently probing into the consciousness of both the Parrot and the White Ferret.
Two crystal-clear contract messages were silently transmitted directly into the depths of their minds.
This was an equal symbiotic contract; neither would suppress or control the other, and their status was completely equal.
In fact, with his current Mental Energy strength, he could completely impose a domineering master-servant contract, controlling their consciousness with a single thought, forcibly subduing them, and commanding them at will.
But in this life, he hated being bound and oppressed the most. Having personally suffered the pain of being unable to control his own fate, how could he bear to inflict that torment on small animals that had also gained intelligence?
Even if they were just spirit beasts or exotic beasts, he was unwilling to use master-servant shackles to imprison their souls.
This contract had no power of control; it could not drive, command, or forcibly manipulate their consciousness. Its only function was to allow their hearts to communicate and their emotions to connect.
The gentle Mental Energy contract slowly unfolded, without any oppression or restraint.
Soon, the Parrot and the White Ferret clearly perceived through their soul connection the pure kindness, gentleness, and sincerity in Mo Yufei's heart. There was not a trace of malice, nor any thought of enslavement or control.
The White Ferret's tense body, originally vigilant and guarded, slowly relaxed, and the alienation and fear in its eyes gradually dissipated.
The clever Parrot also quieted down, accepting it completely in its heart.
The bird and the beast almost simultaneously accepted this equal symbiotic contract in the depths of their souls.
Mo Yufei immediately released the last three pets: two cats and a Labrador with a completely black body.
The Parrot recognized them all at a glance and immediately began to flap its wings excitedly, calling out.
"The one with shorter fur is Dabai! The fluffy, long-haired one is called Xue Rong!"
After introducing the two cats one by one, when it came to the black Labrador in front of them, the Parrot quickly blurted out: "This is my Xiaohei, just a silly dog that only knows how to bark!"
As soon as Xiaohei heard this, its eyes changed instantly, its ears drooped, and it let out a muffled, aggrieved, and unconvinced whimper from its throat. Its face was filled with obvious dissatisfaction, staring straight at the Parrot, looking quite funny.
Mo Yufei released his gentle and pure Mental Energy again, using the exact same method to place the equal symbiotic contract on the two cats and Xiaohei.
There was no control, no enslavement, no command or drive, only the bond of connected souls.
The three little ones instantly sensed the malice-free gentleness in his heart and were all very sensible; almost without any hesitation, they accepted this contract.
Their hearts connected instantly, and the barriers completely dissipated.
The moment the equal contract was completely formed, a gentle energy bond connected between their souls.
Mo Yufei also took the opportunity to learn the abilities of the three little animals, and the effects of each ability instantly appeared clearly in his mind.
The short-haired cat, Dabai, awakened the Body Size Expansion Ability.
Once Dabai activates its ability, its body size will instantly increase several times over. At the same time, its speed, strength, physique, and self-recovery ability will all double, and its explosive power is astonishing—it is definitely the combat powerhouse.
The cat, Xue Rong, awakened the extremely rare Healing Ability.
Its soft fur emits a faint, gentle light that can heal physical wounds, soothe mental fatigue, and even alleviate slight damage to the soul. It is an indispensable little healing expert in any team.
As for Xiaohei, it has the Perception Ability, which is far more powerful than simple discrimination between good and evil; it is an all-around, multi-dimensional perception.
It can not only accurately distinguish the goodwill and malice of living beings, but also clearly perceive the emotional changes of surrounding creatures—tension, fear, joy, anger—even the slightest emotional fluctuation cannot escape its detection.
At the same time, it also possesses an extremely strong environmental perception ability; any movement within a hundred-kilometer radius, dangerous auras, terrain changes, or traces of hidden creatures can all be fully fed back.
What is even rarer is that it can perceive the most hidden soul fluctuations. Even if one conceals their aura or disguises their form, as long as there is an anomaly in the soul, it can be easily detected by it.
Only then did Mo Yufei fully realize that when he had approached them as a zombie, although his physical body had changed, his soul remained pure.
At that time, it was precisely because Xiaohei perceived through his soul fluctuations that he had no malice and could not detect any killing intent that it did not panic or attack, but just stayed quietly in the cage, staring at him with curiosity.
Mo Yufei opened the cages and removed their collars and the Parrot's anklet. They possessed abilities and could have opened them themselves, but perhaps because they were used to being kept by humans, they had no thought of opening the shackles.
For these creatures that were originally kept in a pet store, through the bond of soul connection, he could clearly understand what each animal was thinking.
The habit of being cared for by humans for a long time made them subconsciously want to call him "Master" as soon as they opened their mouths.
Mo Yufei smiled faintly and said gently: "From now on, you don't need to call me 'Master,' just call me 'Boss.'"
