170: Chapter 170 Arrival of Support
Without almost any hesitation, Lin Tian made his decision: save him!
The reason was simple.
Qian Duoduo had continuous value to him.
He was an efficient channel for intelligence gathering and resource collection, helping Lin Tian save a vast amount of time and energy searching for items.
Protecting Qian Duoduo meant protecting a stable 'procurement' and 'information' line for himself. This investment was worth it.
He then sent back a message: "Hold your ground first, I'm gathering the army."
It seemed he wouldn't have to wait until tomorrow.
As night fell, amidst a sudden cry for help and an impending cross-spatial rescue, darkness descended completely.
The slaughter between Lords had begun its bloody prelude without any buffer.
And Lin Tian, starting with this rescue, would officially step into this cruel point-scramble war dominated by the Heavenly Dao.
After a brief thought, Lin Tian sent another message, marked by a touch of prudent pragmatism:
"I can help you. But there's a problem—how do I get there?"
"I have an attack order token, but once that thing is used, the drop point is uncertain. How would you even compensate me for the consumed attack order token?"
"If I use an attack order token to go over, are you planning to let me slaughter the person attacking you and then 'take over' your territory while I'm at it? Are you sure you trust me that much?"
Almost as soon as the message was sent, Qian Duoduo's reply popped back with a sense of urgency as if his hair were on fire:
"Don't! Big Boss! No need for an attack order token! I... I did some business a while back and traded for a [Teleportation Scroll (One-time Round Trip)]!"
"I'll use it on my end and designate you. You'll be able to teleport directly next to my Territory Core! No attack order token needed! I'm using it now! Just click agree!"
"Besides, I believe that a living me who can freely use the Trading Platform can bring you even greater value."
"Teleportation Scroll? There's such a thing?"
Lin Tian raised an eyebrow, a bit surprised. This Fat Qian really had quite a few weird and wonderful items in his hands.
It seemed the item System of the Eternal Continent was also very rich.
But now was not the time to investigate this.
He needed more specific intelligence.
"The scroll can wait. Business first. The one attacking... you, how many troops did they bring? What's the highest Rank? Have you figured out the unit quality?"
Lin Tian followed up, his tone calm as he began to consider how many soldiers would be appropriate to bring along.
Qian Duoduo's reply was as fast as if he'd memorized it; he had clearly Inspected them already, and desperation seeped through the lines:
"I've checked! That grandson brought about a thousand! The units are advanced excellence 'Iron-Spine Earth Dragons'!"
"They're thick-skinned, have immense strength, and excel at short-distance charges and armor-piercing! The leader is a Gold-tier 2-star! My defense towers and walls are about to give out! Big Boss, save me!!!"
Immediately afterward, an [Emergency Teleportation Invitation] icon, glowing with a faint blue light and constantly spinning, appeared in the center of Lin Tian's System panel, showing a teleportation request from Qian Duoduo.
"A thousand advanced excellence, a Gold-tier 2-star leader..."
Lin Tian scanned the information and instantly felt confident, even thinking it was a bit... overkill? That's it?
He recalled the overwhelming Black Dragons from yesterday and the Silver and Gold monster tide he had mowed down like grass on the Blood Moon Wilderness today.
"But it's fine. It's a good chance to see what other Lords are made of, and to see the strength of those who are currently confident enough in their own power to take the initiative to attack."
A cold arc curved at the corner of his mouth.
The opponent's configuration was enough to bully a 'Merchant Lord' like Qian Duoduo, but if they ran into him...
"Finish it quickly, and I can earn a favor from Fat Qian, plus the reward. It's a guaranteed profit."
Once his mind was set, Lin Tian no longer hesitated.
He rose abruptly, his movement stirring a gust of wind, as he barked at the soldiers standing in the outer room:
"Orders! Golden Armored Spearmans, assemble immediately! Stand by in the square in front of the Lords Mansion within five minutes!"
"Yes!" The messenger took the order and sprinted away.
Lin Tian strode onto the steps in front of the Lords Mansion. The night wind brushed his face, bringing the faint clamor of the distant barracks and the scent of soil from the further fields.
He pulled up the panel, his gaze landing on the spinning blue teleportation icon, his eyes sharp as an eagle's.
Without pausing, he extended his index finger and tapped the icon lightly.
"Confirm teleportation target: Qian Duoduo's territory."
[Establishing stable teleportation channel...]
[Channel under construction... 10%... 50%... 100%!]
[Channel stable, beginning teleportation!]
*Vrrrrm!!!*
In an instant, centered on the steps where Lin Tian stood, a complex and profound giant circular array flowing with ripples of azure light suddenly emerged.
The light instantly enveloped him and also the two thousand Golden Armored Spearmans who had just finished their emergency assembly and were standing solemnly in the square!
A familiar, slight sense of dizziness came over him, as if his body were being pulled by an invisible force and space was folding and unfolding before his eyes.
But this feeling was far gentler and more stable than when using an attack order token; it lacked that violent spatial chaos and bloody aura.
It was just the gap of a single heartbeat, a single blink.
The azure light in his vision receded like a tide.
Beneath his feet came the touch of hard but slightly vibrating stone slabs. The air lingering at the tip of his nose was no longer the fresh air of Lin Tian City at night mixed with the scent of hearth fires.
Instead, it was a chaotic scent mixed with dust, gunpowder smoke, the Rank smell of beasts, and the scorched odor of some defense tower's energy being overloaded.
In his ears, deafening roars, heavy impacts, and the faint, interspersed screams of terrified humans instantly submerged Lin Tian like a burst dam!
He snapped his eyes open.
What met his eyes was a medium-sized territory that currently appeared to be crumbling.
The city walls weren't very high and were currently being frantically rammed by dozens of massive Iron-Spine Earth Dragons covered in heavy rock-like armor with hideous battering horns on their heads!
Each impact caused the wall to vibrate violently, sending stone fragments showering down.
The arrow towers and magic towers on the walls were desperately pouring out firepower, but against the powerful defense and vitality of those Earth Dragons, the effect was minimal.
Further away, hundreds of Iron-Spine Earth Dragons formed several charge formations. Led by an exceptionally large Gold-tier commander whose horns shimmered with dark gold luster, they were launching continuous cluster charges at the already cracked city gate!
Each charge caused the energy shield at the gate to dim a bit more.
Meanwhile, Lin Tian and the two thousand Golden Armored Spearmans he brought were currently standing perfectly fine on a patch of open ground within the territory.
Beneath their feet, the blue light of the teleportation array was rapidly dissipating.
They had arrived.
