81: Chapter 81 More Than Half Lost

Lin Tian's expression turned so dark it looked like it could drip water, his heart feeling as if it were being squeezed by a giant hand. Five hundred monsters, at minimum Silver Rank and all of Excellent quality... this was simply not a force they could confront head-on right now!

Even with Lin Yin and Lin Feng, and even though the soldiers had just leveled up, it was still far from enough!

His gaze flickered rapidly, sweeping across the equally exhausted but still determined Lin Yin, then over Lin Feng, who was shocked yet had already gripped his spear tightly, prepared for a fight to the death, and finally across the soldiers behind him—who, despite their fear, still held their weapons firmly and looked at him with trusting eyes...

They couldn't retreat! There was nowhere left to retreat to!

“Lin Feng!” Lin Tian turned abruptly, his voice hoarse but carrying a desperate resolve of burning one's bridges. “It's time! Let these fellows see what the true power of a legion is!”

Lin Feng’s body jolted, the fatigue in his eyes swept away and replaced by a blazing gold-red Battle Intent! He nodded heavily and strode to the front of the formation. Facing those five hundred Silver-Rank monsters that exuded a terrifying Aura and were slowly closing in, he threw his head back and let out a long, piercing whistle that seemed capable of shattering stone!

“Heavy Armored Spearmen! Hear my command!”

The surviving eighteen hundred-plus Heavy Armored Spearmen who could still fight moved in response. Though most were injured, at this moment, they erupted with an astonishing Aura and cohesion.

They quickly gathered with Lin Feng as the core. Their blood-qi, Battle Intent, and even portions of their life force transformed into streams of crimson light, frantically surging toward Lin Feng!

“Command of a Thousand Armies, War Soul Condensation!!!”

Lin Feng roared, violently thrusting the crimson gold coiling dragon spear into the ground!

“Boom!!!”

A gold-red pillar of light, far more vast, blazing, and overbearing than any before, shot up from Lin Feng’s body, piercing straight into the sky of the Secret Realm!

Within the light pillar, countless profound Red Sun War Patterns emerged, spiraling and condensing!

A phantom of the Red Sun War God, nearly thirty meters tall and appearing as if cast from crimson gold, clad in flaming battle armor with a blurred but majestic and solemn face, descended thunderously under the utterly shocked gazes of Lord Su Wan and all the elves!

The phantom was so solid that one could even see the patterns on its armor and the outline of the giant flaming spear in its hand, which seemed capable of incinerating heaven and earth!

The Aura it emitted had already transcended the scope of ordinary Silver Rank, carrying a heart-palpitating pressure belonging to a higher level!

Merely standing there, it was like a red sun descending upon the mortal world, dispelling most of the filth and cold Aura permeating the plains, and reigniting the nearly extinguished flame of hope in Lord Su Wan's eyes.

“This... this is...” Lord Su Wan’s mouth hung slightly open, unable to speak a complete sentence in her shock. She had guessed Lin Tian was hiding his strength, but she hadn't expected him to hide it so deeply! This was clearly some incredibly powerful legion combination skill! This might... it was like a myth reappearing!

The five hundred Silver monsters on the opposite side seemed to sense the threat as well. They let out even more violent roars and accelerated their charge, their filthy energy billowing as they tried to tear the terrifying war soul apart before it could fully form.

“Those who offend my Master shall die!”

Lin Feng and the phantom of the Red Sun War God moved in perfect synchronization. Amidst the roar, the giant flaming spear in the phantom's hand—seemingly condensed from lava and light—swept out fiercely toward the charging horde of Silver monsters!

A gold-red half-moon Spear Glow over a hundred meters wide, condensed to the extreme and appearing as if it could slice through space, tore through the atmosphere. Carrying a terrifying power to incinerate the eight directions and destroy all things, it slashed violently into the monster horde!

“Sshhh! BOOM!!!”

Wherever the Spear Glow passed, space itself seemed to twist and wail! Silver 1-star and 2-star monsters were instantly vaporized like they were made of paper!

Silver 3-star and 4-star monsters desperately erupted with filthy energy to resist, but the moment they made contact, their shields shattered. Their bodies were mostly sliced open, and they were sent flying back with miserable screams, either dead or crippled!

With just a single strike, the charging formation of the five hundred Silver monsters was completely disrupted, and the vanguard suffered heavy casualties!

“Hiss...” Not only Lord Su Wan, but even Lin Yin took a slight breath of cold air.

She knew “Command of a Thousand Armies” was strong, but its power in its complete state still exceeded her imagination.

Looking at the upright but slightly swaying figure of Lin Feng ahead, a trace of imperceptible worry flashed in her eyes, but it was immediately replaced by a more determined light.

She then drew her bow, moonlight condensing, preparing to deliver fatal follow-up attacks for Lin Feng when his old strength was spent and his new strength had yet to rise.

The phantom of the Red Sun War God did not stop. Under Lin Feng’s control, it swung the giant flaming spear again, either thrusting or sweeping. Every strike was heavy and powerful, carrying the brilliant heavenly might of the legion's combined strength, harvesting and purifying the remaining Silver monsters in swathes.

This power was earth-shattering, but the consumption was also extremely terrifying. Lin Feng’s face turned pale at a visible rate, veins bulged on his forehead, and his entire body’s muscles were trembling.

Every time he swung the war soul to attack, it felt as if he were burning his own life and the strength of all the soldiers. But he gritted his teeth and persevered, his gaze sharp as a knife, dead-locked onto the most troublesome legendary monsters.

Finally, just as the phantom of the Red Sun War God became somewhat blurred and was about to dissipate, the last Silver 5-star “Twisted Devourer” exploded into a cloud of black smoke under the piercing of the giant flaming spear and several arrows followed up by Lin Yin.

Five hundred monsters, at minimum Silver Rank, were completely annihilated!

“Pfft!” Almost simultaneously, Lin Feng violently spat out a mouthful of blood, his figure swaying as if about to fall. The phantom of the Red Sun War God let out a mournful cry and dissipated into a sky full of gold-red light specks.

In the rear, nearly half of the Heavy Armored Spearmen also collapsed to the ground as if their strength had been drained dry, losing their combat effectiveness for the short term. This strike had consumed the allied forces' last and strongest trump card, as well as the majority of their remaining combat power.

Silence returned to the plains once more, with only the strong smell of burning, the fresh air after purification, and the heavy panting of survivors intermingling.

“Fifth stage challenge, passed.”

A grand voice rang out, seemingly carrying a trace of imperceptible fluctuation. Two pillars of light, denser than those before, descended.

[Reward: All participating unit types Rank +1]

[Individual Reward: space crystal × 100]

[Item Description: Strange crystals containing thin spatial power, can be used to construct stable spatial tunnels, expand storage space, or forge special spatial equipment.]

The radiance of another Rank increase showered down, allowing the deathly exhausted soldiers to recover a bit of strength. And those space crystals, shimmering with a hazy silver light and appearing to have tiny galaxies flowing within, caused a sharp light to erupt in Lin Tian's eyes. The value of this stuff was likely far beyond the previous gold crystals and wood crystal stones!

However, looking at the soldiers fallen all around, the pale-faced Lin Feng being supported by Lin Yin, and the remaining two hundred-plus elves who were almost all injured, then looking at the seemingly endless plains in the distance and the unknown subsequent stages...

A deeper sense of fatigue and heaviness weighed on everyone's hearts. The fifth stage was already like this; what about the sixth, seventh... or ninth stage?

Could they really keep going?
