70: Chapter 70 The Eve of Teleportation
Beside him, Lin Yan stood like a mountain; the heavy pressure of the Zhenyue Spirit General was reassuring. Before him stood a yellow-black barrier formed by five thousand Mystic Rock Spirit Guards, and beside him was a second solid line of defense made up of five thousand Rock Armor Soldiers.
To the center-right, Lin Yin stood quietly like a fairy under the moon. The cold, austere nature of the Holy Envoy of the Profound Moon blended perfectly with her lethal intent. Behind her, ten thousand Moon Shadow Archers stood with bows drawn, their gazes like lightning, concealing devastating long-range power within the silence.
On the far right, Commander Lin Yu was bathed in warm holy light. The compassionate and merciful aura of the Holy Healing Priest smoothed away the scent of slaughter. She commanded two thousand Holy Healing Priests, serving as the lifeline and source of purification for the army.
The banners were simple yet fluttered in the wind; the armor reflected the sun, shining brilliantly. Thirty thousand people stood solemnly, their breathing merging into a low rumble of wind and thunder. An invisible, magnificent aura permeated the air, making the morning air feel heavy.
From being alone when he first transmigrated, to having the initial eleven warriors, then thirty-four, a hundred, a thousand... until today, thirty-two thousand heroic troops stood before his eyes!
The heroic spirit in Lin Tian's chest erupted like a volcano, his blood surging.
Climbing to a higher vantage point and overlooking the boundless torrent of steel, arrow formations, and holy light below, a surging feeling of creating history and controlling fate made him almost unable to restrain himself.
Exerting his full strength, his voice trembled slightly with excitement, yet it cracked like thunder in the ears of every soldier:
"Soldiers! Today, at this very moment, the combat troops of our territory have officially surpassed thirty thousand!" He swung his arm fiercely, pointing at the vast world, "This is a great milestone, and even more so, a brand new starting point for us to march toward an eternal legend! This glory belongs to every one of you, to every brother who has shed blood and sweat for the territory!"
"But this is far from the end! Our goal is the pinnacle of this continent! Our military edge will point toward even more distant mountains, rivers, and seas! Remember today's glory, but do not be satisfied! Grip the weapons in your hands, sharpen the fighting intent in your hearts! For survival, for glory, for our shared home—fight! Advance!"
"Roar! Roar! Roar!!!"
"Long live the Lord! We swear to protect the territory to the death!!!"
Over thirty thousand people shouted in unison, the sound wave like a tsunami and landslide, rushing into the sky, shaking the dust from the battlements and startling countless birds in the distance.
This roar, which gathered the will and strength of over thirty thousand people, seemed to shake even the dawn. Lin Tian stood at the high point, watching the soldiers below, their faces flushed with excitement as they roared with all their might. He himself was also boiling with hot blood because of this vast scene, his face flushing, his chest heaving violently.
After a long while, the sound wave finally ceased, and the lingering echoes still reverberated in the air. Lin Tian calmed his surging emotions and began to issue the specific instructions for today:
"Lin Yin, you, and Lin Feng, lead two thousand elite veteran soldiers to stay behind and wait for orders. Everyone else, under the unified command of Lin Yan and Commander Lin Yu, will take the new recruits in groups to attack, clearing out all newly appeared corrupted magical beasts around the territory. Use battle as training to improve levels and coordination! Now, dismiss, eat, and then take action!"
"Understood! Lord!" The four commanders replied in unison, their voices shaking the clouds.
The army dispersed in an orderly manner, heading to various canteens, where the cooking smoke grew thicker. Lin Tian turned around and strode back to the Lords Mansion, his eyes having shifted from excitement to deep contemplation.
"It's time to contact Lord Su Wan... the Secret Realm challenge..." He muttered to himself, his eyes flashing with anticipation and a sharp light for the unknown adventure.
Returning to the Lords Mansion, Lin Tian walked straight to the guest hall and sat down on a soft animal-skin chair, taking a deep breath to calm the excitement brought by the military review. He pulled up the system panel and clicked on the newly appeared name in the ally list—Lord Su Wan.
"Lord Su Wan, are you ready? In half an hour, I will initiate a teleportation request; please accept it on your end. I will bring some men with me."
Not long after the message was sent, Lord Su Wan's reply popped up:
"Received! I am ready at all times on this end, just waiting for your news. I will accept the teleportation request immediately. See you in half an hour! (Attached with an 'expectant' emoji)"
Looking at the concise and positive reply on the panel, the corners of Lin Tian's mouth lifted slightly. His heart was filled with freshness and anticipation for the upcoming first "visit to a different territory" and the mysterious "Secret Realm challenge."
"I wonder what other Lords' territories look like? Lord Su Wan's 'Moonlight Territory'... the name sounds very special. It is quite interesting to see a 'living,' non-hostile other Lord for the first time."
Leaning back in the chair, his thoughts drifted away, imagining the scenes he might encounter. Would it be a heavily guarded fortress, or a strange and bizarre magic workshop? What would Lord Su Wan herself be like?
Just as he was immersed in his imagination, his expression unconsciously distracted, even wearing a slightly curious, silly smile, the door to the study was gently pushed open.
Lin Yin walked in silently, carrying a wooden tray.
On the tray were two sets of clean bowls and chopsticks, two bowls of steaming, crystal-clear Spirit Rice, three plates of fragrant meat dishes, and a small basin of clear cabbage soup. The steam from the food rose in the morning light, bringing a reassuring sense of daily life.
She had originally intended to go to the large canteen to eat, but after the dismissal, her gaze had followed Lin Tian. Seeing that he did not head to the canteen but instead returned to the Lords Mansion alone, she became concerned.
The Lord often forgot to eat when he was busy, and he had been laboring hard last night... Thinking this way, she went to the kitchen and quickly fetched breakfast for two to bring over.
As soon as she entered, she saw Lin Tian sitting in the chair, supporting his chin with one hand, his eyes unfocused, a slightly... silly smile hanging on the corners of his mouth. He didn't know what he was thinking about and hadn't even noticed her entering.
A trace of a gentle smile flashed in Lin Yin's eyes. She walked softly to the desk in front of him and carefully set down the tray. The sound of the bowls and plates making contact with the wooden table made a slight "clack" sound, which finally woke Lin Tian from his daydream.
"Hmm?" Lin Tian snapped back to reality, blinked, and seeing the food laid out before him and the graceful Lin Yin, he scratched his head in embarrassment. "Ah, it's Lin Yin. I was lost in thought just now and didn't notice you coming in. Thank you for specially bringing me food."
"Brother Tian, you are too polite," Lin Yin shook her head slightly, her voice gentle. "I saw you didn't go to eat, so I brought some over. Eat it while it's hot." As she said this, she naturally sat down in the chair opposite Lin Tian and picked up her own bowl and chopsticks.
"Alright, you eat too." Lin Tian smiled and picked up his chopsticks. The two of them began to enjoy this simple breakfast in the quiet study, facing the morning light streaming in from the window. The atmosphere was warm and peaceful, with only the faint sounds of chewing and the gentle clinking of bowls and chopsticks.
