44: Chapter 44 Lin Yin Borrows the Bathroom
He couldn't imagine what Lin Yin, who was usually cold and holy, and could kill enemies with a single arrow on the battlefield, would look like wearing these... Stop! He couldn't think about it anymore!
He coughed lightly and quickly filtered the results, specifically looking for those that looked conservative, comfortable, and cute. Finally, his gaze landed on two pure white cotton pajama sets with cartoon rabbit patterns.
The style was simple, with long sleeves and long pants, and only the collar and pockets were embroidered with playful little rabbits, looking soft and warm.
"This is the one!" He decided decisively and also bought two pairs of slippers, one large and one small. It cost a total of 20 Low-grade Spirit Crystals, which made his heart ache a little: "Girls' things are really not cheap... But, it's worth it!"
With a flash of light, two neatly folded white rabbit-ear pajama sets and two pairs of slippers appeared in his hands. They felt soft to the touch and carried the faint, fresh scent of new clothes.
He handed the pajamas and slippers to Lin Yin: "Here, both of these pajama sets are for you. Take a pair of slippers that fit, and the other pair... please help me put them in the largest bedroom on the second floor."
Lin Yin looked at the clothes Lin Tian handed over in disbelief. The soft touch and cute patterns made her eyes widen instantly, flashing with a glimmer of surprise and joy.
She carefully took them and hugged them to her chest, feeling the softness. When she looked up at Lin Tian, her eyes were filled with pure joy and gratitude: "Really... is this really for me? Lord, you are too good to me! I... I don't know how to repay you!"
She even unconsciously made a cute gesture of clenching her hands into fists and placing them in front of her chest to cheer herself on, forming a strange contrast with the dignity of the Holy Envoy of the Profound Moon, "I will definitely work harder to kill monsters tomorrow! And protect everyone well!"
Lin Tian was completely amused by her straightforward and cute reaction and waved his hand, unable to hold back a smile: "Alright, alright, just take what I gave you, go wash up!" He deliberately used a relaxed tone to hide the inexplicable palpitation in his heart.
Watching Lin Yin like a happy little deer, holding the pajamas and slippers, stepping lightly up the stairs and disappearing around the corner, Lin Tian let out a soft sigh and turned to walk towards the warehouse.
He had to check today's grain harvest to ensure everyone had enough food for tomorrow. Although he had an idea, he would only feel reassured after seeing it with his own eyes.
Holding the soft new pajamas and cute slippers, Lin Yin's heart felt as soft and fluffy as the clothes in her hands. She walked up the clean wooden stairs to the second floor, full of curiosity; this was her first time entering the Lords Mansion.
The layout of the second floor was clear. Two bedroom doors were open, while the other was fitted with a heavy Refined Iron door, tightly closed; that must be where the Territory Core was located.
She first curiously poked her head into the first bedroom.
The room was lit with soft lights. A large bed covered with thick, soft bedding that looked incredibly comfortable came into view, with a delicate bedside table by the bed, and a glass door leading to an open balcony on the other side. The room was simple, yet every detail showed care.
Lin Yin's gaze was almost glued to the bed. "So soft... it looks so comfortable..." She exclaimed softly in her heart, a surge of impulse to pounce on it and try it out, but she immediately held it back, "This must be the Lord's room, right? I can't mess around..." She then reluctantly backed out.
Then, she pushed open the other room, which was the master bedroom.
"Wow..." Even for the calm Lin Yin, she couldn't help but let out a low exclamation of surprise.
This master bedroom was larger and more luxurious. The light was a bright warm white, shining on the clean floor. Not only was there a larger balcony and more spacious area, but there were also delicate tables and chairs, and two tall wardrobes that looked like they could hold a lot of clothes. And that bed... it was half as big again as the one she had just seen! The bedding was thicker, and the animal fur blanket spread on it was of clearly better quality, glistening with a soft luster under the lights.
Lin Yin stood at the door, looking at the "luxurious" living environment in front of her, and then comparing it to the Barracks she had lived in for the past few days. Although it was a clean wooden house, it was a multi-person bunk bed, each person only had a thin animal skin mat, and there were companions coming and going. Although it was warm, there was no privacy or comfort to speak of.
Without comparison, there is no harm. A faint sense of envy and a clear realization of her own living conditions welled up in her heart. "If only... I could sleep on a bed like this, how wonderful that would be..." She thought quietly to herself, then immediately felt that she was being a bit greedy, and quickly shook her head.
Remembering Lin Tian's words, she gently placed the larger pair of slippers by the side of the master bed, and couldn't resist touching the soft mattress again, before leaving, looking back every few steps, and walking towards the bathroom at the end of the corridor.
The bathroom was fully equipped, with heated hot water and the soap pods Lin Tian had obtained from opening treasure chests. The warm water washed away the fatigue, blood stains, and the tension after the battle.
Lin Yin hummed comfortably, and in the misty steam, she was finally able to completely relax for once. Perhaps because it was so comfortable, she washed for a dozen minutes longer than usual.
Just as she dried her body, put on the soft and cute white rabbit pajamas, and felt the comfortable touch of the fabric against her skin, familiar footsteps and the sound of a door opening came from outside - the Lord had returned!
Her heart tightened, and she quickly combed her wet long hair, hugged the clothes she had changed out of, and pulled open the bathroom door.
Lin Tian returned from taking inventory in the warehouse, feeling confident about tomorrow's supplies. He walked up to the second floor, saw that the bathroom light was still on, and knowing that Lin Yin hadn't finished washing, he didn't disturb her and walked straight to his master bedroom.
Pushing open the door, looking at the more spacious, comfortable, and thoughtfully furnished room, he nodded with satisfaction; it was worth the resources he had invested. He was just admiring the details of the room, especially the large bed that looked like it would make anyone want to sink into it.
"Click." The sound of the bathroom door opening came from behind him. Lin Tian subconsciously turned back.
A small cloud of misty steam drifted out as the door opened, and a figure walked out from the mist. It was Lin Yin.
She had changed out of her iconic Holy Envoy of the Profound Moon robe and was wearing a pure white cotton pajama set with cute cartoon rabbit patterns. The pajamas were slightly loose, which only served to accentuate her slender and delicate figure.
Her long black hair was draped wetly over her shoulders, with water still dripping from the tips. Crystal-clear water droplets slid down her fair, slender neck and disappeared into the collar of her pajamas.
Because of the hot water, her already fair skin showed a faint pink, especially her pretty face, which was rosy and white, like a peach blossom in early bloom.
Having washed away the grime and taken off her armor, she was still as exquisite as a painting, but she lacked the cold and murderous aura of the battlefield, and instead had a full, moist, and gentle beauty. The whole person was shrouded in a warm, clean, and defenseless domestic aura, like a completely different person from usual.
Lin Tian felt his breath hitch, his gaze seemingly drawn by a magnet, unable to move away for a moment. His heart thumped uncontrollably twice. A thought flashed through his mind instantly: "Sure enough... when someone is good-looking, they really look good in everything... This style switch is just too deadly..."
Lin Yin clearly noticed Lin Tian's gaze, which was filled with astonishment and momentary distraction. Her cheeks, already flushed from the bath, suddenly deepened in color, turning red all the way to her ears, and the fingers holding the clothes tightened unconsciously.
She lowered her eyelashes slightly, not daring to meet Lin Tian's eyes, and said in a voice as soft as a mosquito: "Thank you, Lord... I'm done washing." As she said this, she wanted to lower her head and walk past him to return to her Barracks room.
It was late at night outside, and the lights in the direction of the camp had dimmed significantly, as it was close to ten o'clock in the evening. Watching her walk downstairs with her clothes in her arms and her hair wet, Lin Tian spoke without even thinking:
"It's so late, and it's cold outside, and your hair isn't dry yet... How about you don't go back tonight?"
Lin Yin's footsteps stopped abruptly, her hands tightened around the clothes, and she turned back to look at him in astonishment.
Lin Tian also realized that his words were a bit sudden, but he maintained a calm expression, even adding a touch of easygoing smile, and pointed to the spare bedroom: "If you don't mind, there's an empty room over there, and the bedding is all new. It's empty anyway, so just stay here tonight to save running back and forth."
Lin Yin's eyes widened little by little, changing from astonishment to unbelievable surprise. She looked at the door of the spare bedroom, then at Lin Tian, her voice drifting: "Re... really? Lord, am... am I dreaming?" She even subconsciously pinched her arm, and the slight pain told her it was real.
Lin Tian was amused by her silly reaction and his tone was even more gentle and firm: "Of course you can. With your current Legendary Intermediate, Silver 1-Star strength, who could cast such a realistic illusion on you at this stage? Silly girl, what are you thinking? I said you can, so you can."
"Wow! That's great! Thank you, Lord! You are really the best, best Lord in the world!" The surprise on Lin Yin's face instantly blossomed into a brilliant smile, a smile so pure and bright that it seemed to dispel all gloom.
Hugging her clothes, she almost skipped towards the spare bedroom, "Then I'll stay here! It's settled!"
"Yeah, it's settled, feel free to stay." Lin Tian nodded with a smile, watching her back, his heart also filled with softness.
Having received confirmation again, Lin Yin cheered and rushed into the spare bedroom with her clothes, even forgetting to close the door.
Lin Tian only heard a suppressed, joyful exclamation from inside, followed by rustling sounds, as if she had impatiently pounced on that soft bed. He could even hear the faint movements of her rolling happily and rubbing against the bedding, mixed with her almost inaudible self-talk: "So soft... so comfortable... a hundred times more comfortable than the bed in the Barracks..."
Listening to the small, childish, and joyful movements coming from the room, which were completely opposite to her usual image, Lin Tian stood outside the door, shaking his head and smiling, his eyes filled with a softness he hadn't even noticed.
Who would have thought that the Holy Envoy of the Profound Moon, who killed a Silver Giant Spider with an arrow during the day and was as cold as the moon, would have such a cute and even silly side in private?
He raised his voice and instructed towards the spare bedroom: "Lin Yin, tomorrow morning, wake me up as usual!"
"Got it! Don't worry, Lord! I'll be on time, I promise!" Lin Yin's crisp and cheerful response came from the room, with a thick nasal tone, as if she was still burying her face in the quilt.
Lin Tian smiled, then gently closed the door for her. He returned to the master bedroom, took his change of clothes and the other pair of slippers, and went to the bathroom for a quick shower.
The night was deep, and the Lords Mansion was quiet. Only the occasional distant, muffled roar of monsters from outside the window reminded him that the world was not peaceful. But in this sturdy and warm stone and wood villa, on the soft bed, the young female general, who had experienced a day of fierce battles and surprises, was lost in an unprecedentedly soft dream, with a faint smile on her lips.
It was ten-thirty, and Lin Tian had finished washing and returned to the master bedroom in his comfortable pajamas.
He closed the door, shutting out the evening chill and a faint, lingering scent from next door.
He leaned against the headboard, not resting immediately, but opening the system panel again.
He habitually glanced at the Regional Chat Channel first. The messages were still scrolling fast, the content was nothing more than the wails, pleas for help, and trading information of survivors, occasionally mixed with boasting of unknown truth and desperate curses.
The number in the upper right corner was still glaring. After watching for ten minutes and finding no valuable information, Lin Tian turned off the Regional Chat Channel and turned his attention to the [Trading Platform].
Lin Tian opened the personal resource panel. Basic resources (wood, stone, iron ore) were piled up like a mountain; these were the foundation for future construction, and he didn't intend to sell any of them. His gaze fell on the most exciting column:
Low-grade Spirit Crystal × 50500
Mid-grade Spirit Crystal × 50
"Hiss..." Even though he was psychologically prepared, seeing this number, Lin Tian couldn't help but gasp, and then a big smile bloomed on his face.
This overwhelming wealth had finally landed solidly on him! The bulk of it came from the "safe" hunting tonight, relying on the protective shield.
The monsters that appeared at night were a small part ordinary but frantic beasts, and more were various disgusting corrupted monsters.
Their levels were generally very high, the weakest being Bronze 9-Star, and the strongest killed last night was a Silver 3-Star corrupted lizard shot by Lin Yin.
The harvest was also extremely rich: a Bronze 9-Star ordinary monster was worth 55 Low-grade Spirit Crystals, while a corrupted monster of the same level directly doubled it, giving 110!
After entering the Silver level, the Spirit Crystals harvested were not Low-grade Spirit Crystals but Mid-grade Spirit Crystals. A Silver 1-Star ordinary monster earned 1 Mid-grade Spirit Crystal, and a corrupted monster rewarded 2; Silver 2-Star ordinary earned 2, corrupted monster rewarded 4, and so on...
Lin Tian had roughly felt it; the energy contained in 1 Mid-grade Spirit Crystal was approximately equal to 100 Low-grade Spirit Crystals, but its purity and value were clearly higher.
"This is what you call getting rich overnight!" Lin Tian thought happily, his fingers tapping the panel unconsciously, "The city walls and City Defense Giant Crossbow that I thought were out of reach before, now I finally have the confidence to start building them!"
He immediately turned out another blueprint he had long coveted - [Special City Gate Blueprint (Permanent)]. This thing had been hanging on the Trading Platform for a day and had long attracted Lin Tian's attention. The seller asked for a high price of 500 Spirit Crystals, which discouraged countless people. Rich Lords felt that they didn't need such a high-level gate at this stage, and those without money couldn't reach it.
Moreover, its construction requirements started at 1000 iron ore and 500 Spirit Crystals, and subsequent upgrades were even more of a money pit. But it had an irreplaceable advantage: intelligent control, it could seamlessly integrate into any wall, and as long as there were enough resources, it could be continuously upgraded and reinforced with various high-level materials, belonging to a special item with extremely high growth potential.
The seller clearly knew its potential and would rather keep it listed than sell it cheaply, which is why it waited for our "tycoon" Lin Tian.
"This is it!" Lin Tian didn't hesitate and spent 500 Spirit Crystals to buy it. The blueprint was in his hands, heavy and full of a sense of the future.
