251: Chapter 251 The King Xuan Yi

Every flash of teleportation light meant another ten-thousand-man unit had embarked on a distant journey.

Atop the city walls, Lin Tian, Lin Yin, Lin Yan, and the others stood side by side, quietly watching this spectacular "expedition."

Lin Tian crossed his arms, his face filled with anticipation and a hint of sharpness:

“Karl... and the ghost thing behind you, just you wait.”

Lin Yin stood half a step behind him. The moonlight spilled over her perfect profile, as cold and aloof as ever.

She merely tilted her head slightly, gazing at the rising moon on the horizon, as if communicating with something, or perhaps just calming her mind for the impending battle.

Only when she occasionally looked at Lin Tian's back did a faint, almost imperceptible soft light flicker in her eyes.

Lin Yan, like the most loyal of boulders, silently guarded their side, his heavy Aura providing an immense sense of security.

The teleportation continued for a full day and night.

When the last phalanx disappeared into the light gate, the training grounds and fields, which had been packed with people and filled with soaring Evil Qi, suddenly became empty.

Only the lingering dust and the heart-palpitating energy ripples remained in the air.

“It's our turn.”

Lin Tian cracked his neck with a crisp sound, a look of eagerness appearing on his face.

“Let's go!”

With that, he took the first step, walking toward that deep blue teleportation gate.

Lin Yin, Lin Yan, and a few other high-ranking generals and personal guards responsible for the rearguard followed closely behind.

A flash of light.

Atop the city walls, only a small number of garrison troops remained, along with the massive frame of the teleportation gate that continued to rotate slowly, maintaining the passage. The night wind blew, carrying a chill from afar.

The spatial leap of eighty thousand kilometers was complete.

Lin Tian stepped out of the portal, his feet landing on ground that was somewhat hard, carrying the scent of gunpowder and a faint, decaying odor.

Before him was not the expected wasteland or the edge of a battlefield, but a vast plain that had been temporarily cleared. In the distance, the outlines of continuous military camps and the fluttering flags of the Xuanhuang Empire were vaguely visible.

The eighty million troops he had brought—an army enough to keep any monarch awake at night—had already completed their preliminary formation under the command of Lin Feng and others who had arrived before him.

Although the limited space meant they couldn't fully deploy that terrifying, sky-blotting formation, just the endless, solemn, and silent forest of steel before them was enough to strike fear into the heart of any witness.

The soldiers silently adjusted their armor and checked their weapons; their mounts snorted quietly. A terrifying Aura, like the calm before a storm yet perfectly orderly, spread silently through the air.

Almost the instant Lin Tian's figure fully solidified, a group of impressive-looking figures quickly approached from the other side of the plain.

Leading them was a middle-aged man dressed in a bright yellow imperial robe and wearing a flat-topped crown. His expression was majestic, and his gaze was as deep and calm as an abyss.

He walked with a powerful stride, and the Dragon Qi of the imperial way faintly circled his body. Though he didn't intentionally emit pressure, the nobility and temperament of one who had long stood at the pinnacle of humanity, ruling over countless lives, could not be hidden.

This was the current Sovereign of the Xuanhuang Empire, Xuan Yi.

He was followed by several generals and court attendants with deep Auras, all at least high-tier Divine-Grade.

However, after glancing over the boundless army, everyone's eyes eventually fell with awe upon Lin Tian and the woman beside him, who was shrouded in moonlight and as cold and aloof as an immortal.

“Lord Lin Tian, I have long heard of your great name! Seeing your heroic army today, I finally know what it means to have heavenly soldiers and divine generals!”

Xuan Yi stopped several yards in front of Lin Tian and was the first to cup his hands. His voice was resonant, carrying the reserve of an emperor but also a hint of imperceptible relief and shock.

Only after seeing this army with his own eyes did he truly understand where the undisguisable alarm in Li Yi's report had come from.

“Sovereign Xuan Yi, a pleasure to meet you.”

Lin Tian also cupped his hands, his face wearing his usual easy-going yet inscrutable smile.

“Time is pressing, so I won't waste words on pleasantries. How much have you found out about Karl's nest and his troop distribution?”

“How should we fight this battle to win, and to win decisively?”

Xuan Yi was clearly a pragmatist as well. Hearing this, he immediately stepped aside to lead the way:

“The Lord is a man of few words and direct action, which suits my wishes perfectly. Please follow me; the sand table and maps are ready. All the intelligence our scouts and attendants have gathered over these months at the cost of their blood is there.”

The group quickly moved to a nearby massive command tent that had just been erected and was protected by layers of formations.

Inside the tent, a detailed sand table that occupied more than half the space clearly marked the situation of both sides.

The subsequent discussion was direct and efficient.

Xuan Yi's side introduced in detail the characteristics of Karl's Undead Army, the main generals, the core defensive zones, and the core controlled area shrouded in death mist known as the "Decaying Black Earth."

Lin Tian, combining the characteristics of the units under his command, proposed several bold thrusting and flanking tactics.

The core strategy consisted of two points:

First, a pincer movement from north and south, striking simultaneously. Xuan Yi's eighty million troops would lead the main attack from the northern line to draw the attention of Karl's main force. Lin Tian's eighty million Dragon Blood Cavalry would then tear a hole from the southern line and strike straight at the heart.

Second, be fast, accurate, and ruthless, leaving no room for error. Once the battle began, Karl must be given no time to react or redeploy. With absolute numerical superiority and top-tier combat power, they would strike like a thunderbolt to collapse his command system in the shortest possible time, specifically keeping a close eye on that 9-star Divine-Grade Necromancer King to ensure it had no chance to escape with Karl.

“As for the spoils of war, as we previously agreed, everything within Karl's territory belongs to me.”

Lin Tian pointed to the black area on the sand table representing the Decaying Black Earth, his tone brooks no argument.

“As for the reclaimed lost territories, they will naturally be returned to their original owners, back to your Xuanhuang Empire. How about it?”

“As it should be!”

Xuan Yi slapped the edge of the sand table heavily, his eyes flashing with a mix of decisiveness and hatred.

“As long as we can slay this beast and cleanse the filth, I do not care for a few riches! We shall proceed as the Lord says. Tomorrow at noon, we will launch a general offensive from both north and south, a fight to the death!”

“Deal!”

Two hands clasped together firmly in the air.

The next day, at noon.

There were no impassioned pre-battle speeches or lengthy exchanges of insults. When the sun climbed to its highest point in the sky, the bugles of attack rose simultaneously from the allied camps in the north and south, hundreds of miles apart, tearing through the pre-battle silence!

“BOOM!!!”

“KILL!!!”

The earth-shaking battle cries and the roar of the steel torrent starting up instantly became the only main theme between heaven and earth.

The Southern Line. Lin Tian stood atop a temporarily constructed high platform, gazing at the "Decaying Black Earth" ahead—a land shrouded in grayish-black death mist, where the ground was cracked, no grass grew, and a thick Aura of decay and despair emanated.

He took a deep breath, suppressed the surging Battle Intent in his heart, and suddenly swung his arm down:

“All troops, attack! Crush them!”

“ROAR!!!”

As soon as the order was given, the war machine roared to life!
