236: Chapter 236 Leo's Death

He saw it.

In the shadows of the ruins, that moon-white figure, that cold and beautiful yet expressionless face, and those eyes that seemed to reflect the lunar disk, cold as ten-thousand-year-old ice.

And that silver arrow, already close at hand, the space at its tip slightly collapsing as if it could devour all life and light!

"No!!!"

In his heart, Mo Shi let out a silent roar filled with endless regret and fear.

He regretted it; he regretted coveting the generous gifts promised by the Minotaurs, he regretted looking down on this group of "otherworldly ants," and he regretted... not fleeing with all his might from the very beginning!

Puchi!

An extremely faint muffled sound, like a hot knife cutting into butter.

The arrow pierced with unerring precision through the layer of earthy-yellow energy armor on Mo Shi's body, which was strong enough to withstand diamond rank attacks, and then exited through his left temple!

The power of the ultimate Moonlight Arrow's purification and the Law of Wood contained within the arrow erupted violently the moment it penetrated his skull!

Mo Shi's arrogant expression froze forever, and his massive pupils instantly dilated and dimmed.

The phantom of the giant claw striking toward Lin Feng collapsed violently in mid-air.

His four-meter-tall, mountain-like majestic body stiffened suddenly, as if all bones and his Soul had been sucked out.

Then, under the gaze of countless terrified eyes, he crashed down from mid-air, slamming heavily onto the scorched earth below, kicking up a cloud of dust, with no further sound.

The Orc Alliance envoy, the Saint-Grade 3-star Bearman powerhouse Mo Shi, had fallen! Sniped and killed by a single arrow!

This sudden, shocking scene caused a momentary deathly silence to fall over the entire battlefield.

Whether it was the frantically attacking human soldiers, the Minotaurs desperately defending the city, or even Leo and Gos on the city walls, everyone was stunned, as if unable to comprehend what had just happened before their eyes.

But Lin Yin's slaughter was far from over!

At the same instant the first arrow was released, her left fingers plucked and flicked the bowstring at a speed difficult for the naked eye to capture!

Swish! Swish!

Two more sounds of breaking air, almost simultaneous and even more faint and subtle!

Two identical Moonlight Arrows, like life-taking ghosts, crossed the chaotic battlefield with precision in the one-second gap before anyone could recover from the shock of Mo Shi's fall. They ignored the hastily raised magic shields and the human shields raised by bodyguards, finding that fatal path!

Puchi! Puchi!

The first arrow pierced the gold crown set with a massive gemstone that the Minotaur King Leo had tried to raise in panic, and then entered his brow!

This old king, who had ruled the kingdom for decades and had just seen a glimmer of hope, had the shock and bewilderment on his face fully surface before his eyes completely dimmed.

His tall body toppled backward, caught by the throne behind him, and slowly slid down.

The second arrow shot in from behind Gos, who was shouting hoarsely in an attempt to reorganize the defense, penetrating his heart through his tattered armor and exiting through his chest!

Gos's entire body jolted, his movement of swinging the battle-axe freezing in mid-air. He looked down, staring in disbelief at the hole in his chest where frost and signs of withering were rapidly spreading. He opened his mouth, seemingly wanting to say something, but only gouts of foul blood mixed with fragments of internal organs poured out.

The hatred, unwillingness, and the last trace of madness in his eyes quickly extinguished. His strong body crashed to its knees and then collapsed face-first.

The Minotaur King Leo has fallen!

The Minotaur General Gos has fallen!

In just three breaths, the Minotaur Royal Court's supreme commander, strongest foreign aid, and chief general were easily wiped out by the same person with three arrows, as if calling out names!

"The King is dead!"

"General Gos is also dead!"

"That Bearman Saint-Grade is dead too! We're finished!"

"Run! Quick, run!"

Collapse swept through the entire Minotaur garrison like an avalanche!

The supreme command was decapitated in an instant, and their greatest reliance was insta-killed; this psychological blow was devastating.

The originally somewhat orderly defense disintegrated instantly. Countless Minotaur soldiers dropped their weapons, crying out and pushing each other as they tried to flee the city walls and escape this doomed city of death.

"All forces, general offensive!!"

Lin Tian would never let this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity slip by. He exerted his full energy, his voice resounding across the battlefield.

"Surrender and live! Those who resist will be shown no mercy!"

"Kill!!!"

The morale of the human army surged, like tigers released from a cage, launching a mountain-toppling general offensive against the already collapsed wall defenses!

The defenders, having lost their command and will to fight, could hardly organize any effective resistance under the crushing weight of absolute strength and Aura.

The subsequent battle, though still intense, had lost all suspense.

The elites under Lin Tian's command were like a steel knife through butter, quickly breaking through the outer walls, slaughtering their way into the inner city, and engaging in brutal street fighting with the remaining Minotaur defenders who were forced to fight individually.

Lin Feng deactivated his Battle Soul and led from the front, leading the Golden Armored Spearmen to sweep away any enemies who dared to resist.

Resistance was futile and desperate, yet the innate ferocity of the Minotaurs still caused this siege to last for a full eight hours.

It wasn't until the latter half of the night, when the last organized point of resistance was uprooted by the Mopping-up Brigade led by Lin Yan, and the final veteran Minotaur general, wearing general's armor and fighting to the death, was skewered by Lin Feng's spear.

The palace district at the center of the Royal Court was completely occupied, and the massive Minotaur totem royal flag was hacked down and tossed into the fire...

The royal city, which had been filled with sky-shaking clamor, slaughter, and wailing for an entire day, finally, slowly, returned to a heart-palpitating deathly silence.

The smell of gunpowder smoke mixed with the thick scent of blood permeated the night sky.

Lin Tian rode Chi Yan, slowly walking along the royal city's main thoroughfare, which was covered in rubble and bloodstains.

Lin Yin followed quietly by his side, her moon-white holy robe spotless under the reflection of the firelight, as if the bloody slaughter just now had nothing to do with her.

Lin Feng, Lin Yan, and the others also gathered. Though everyone was exhausted and their faces were stained with smoke and blood, their eyes flickered with the flames of victory.

"It's over."

Lin Tian looked at the ruins he had personally conquered and let out a long, long sigh of relief.

Although a significant price had been paid, the strategic objectives were over-achieved.

He raised his head and looked toward the deeper night sky to the south.

The Minotaur Kingdom, the neighbor that had once brought him threats and also his first bucket of "great military merit," would officially become history from tonight, turning into a territory on his Lin Tian City's map.

"Pass the order: clean up the battlefield, inventory the spoils, treat the wounded, guard the prisoners, and tally the battle losses and merits."

Lin Tian began to issue post-war instructions, his voice steady and powerful.

Orders were passed down one by one, and the massive war machine began to shift from slaughter to governance.

Exhausted soldiers began to clear the battlefield, collect their fallen comrades, guard prisoners, and extinguish remaining fires.

The messy battlefield was finally starting to look somewhat orderly.
