200: Chapter 200 Waiting for Mo Yu
She looked at Lin Tian’s calm and smiling profile under the moonlight, then at the two powerful generals behind him, and the elite soldiers in the distance who were beginning to advance silently and efficiently towards the slope according to orders. A heart that had been suspended for a long time finally settled back into place.
Perhaps, tonight, Moonlight Grove could survive this calamity.
Lord Su Wan composed herself and quickly led Lin Tian and the two others away from the teleportation area.
She led them through a small patch of forest that appeared exceptionally tranquil under the moonlight.
Underfoot was a soft path of moss and fallen leaves, and the air was filled with the fresh scent of tuberose and unknown flora.
It was completely different from the robust atmosphere of Lintian City, which was a mix of steel, sweat, and the smell of fireworks.
Eventually, they arrived at a delicate small courtyard embraced by several ancient trees.
The courtyard was not large, but it exuded the unique elegance and natural harmony characteristic of the elven race.
The fence was woven from living vines, adorned with faintly glowing small flowers;
In the center, a wooden table and several rattan chairs seemed to have naturally grown and curved from wood still bearing the Texture of life;
The chirping of insects whispered, and the breeze rustled through the leaves, like a secluded paradise untouched by the world.
“Brother Lin Tian, Sister Lin Yin, Lin Feng, please have a seat.”
Lord Su Wan greeted them a little self-consciously, as this place was far from what she had imagined for hosting a great army commander. “The place is simple, please excuse it.”
“Not at all, your place is very comfortable, much better than my place which is always clanging and banging.”
Lin Tian casually sat down on a rattan chair, which let out a slight, reassuring creak.
He looked around the small courtyard with interest, seeing that Lord Su Wan had indeed put a lot of thought into managing her territory, taking a refined and understated path completely different from his own.
Lin Yin and Lin Feng said nothing, sitting to his left and right like the most loyal shadow guards, slightly behind Lin Tian.
Lin Yin’s posture was straight as a pine, her moon-white robe almost blending with the surrounding clear light under the moonlight, her cool gaze slowly sweeping over every detail of the small courtyard.
Lin Feng sat as steady as a rock, his hands seemingly casually resting on his knees, but those familiar with him knew that at this distance, he could erupt instantly in any emergency.
“Regarding that Mo Yu…”
Lord Su Wan personally brought over several cups of flower dew with a sweet fragrance, getting straight to the point, her brows slightly furrowed.
“What I know is very limited. The information about him in the regional channel is also very chaotic. I only know that any lord ‘named’ and attacked by him, it seems…”
“None of them lasted long, and no one has ever truly seen the full strength of his Death Knight subordinates.”
“Battles often ended quickly, leaving behind only destroyed territories and… occasionally, extreme fear and curses that flashed through the channel.”
She paused, a trace of lingering fear in her voice:
“He’s like a reaper hidden in the shadows. We only know he’s very strong, so strong it makes people despair, but exactly how strong… is a mystery.”
Lin Tian took the flower dew, took a small sip, and a hint of coolness with the sweetness slid down his throat.
He leaned back in the rattan chair, his fingers gently tapping on the smooth wooden armrest, making a rhythmic soft sound.
“Looks like a guy who likes to hide his true self and enjoys the fear of his prey.”
Lin Tian’s mouth curved into a smile that held little humor. “As for strength… it’s definitely not weak. Advanced Legendary Death Knights are not just for show.”
He changed the subject, but there was little tension in his tone, instead, a hint of eager excitement: “However, he likes to play mysterious, and I like to be practical. I brought over 50,000 Gold-tier brothers this time, each one having rolled out of mountains of corpses and seas of blood.”
“And Lin Yin, Lin Feng. No matter how well he hides, can he really swallow all of us alone? Even if it’s a titanium alloy bone, I’ll gnaw a mark into it.”
His words were calm, yet they exuded an undeniable confidence.
A 50,000-strong Gold-tier army, coupled with top-tier Legendary generals, was indeed a force capable of sweeping through most lords at this stage.
Lord Su Wan looked at his calm and confident profile, and the fear she felt due to the unknown seemed to dissipate a little more.
Meanwhile, countless distances away from Moonlight Grove, on a scorched earth that had just experienced a massacre.
The smell of blood in the air was thick and unyielding, mixed with a deeper, colder scent of death and decay.
Mo Yu stepped on the massive corpse of a bear, its chest pierced, still twitching slightly, and unhurriedly wiped the runic longsword in his hand, which burned with a ghostly blue Soul flame.
He was tall and thin, wearing a pitch-black heavy armor that seemed to absorb light, his helmet’s faceplate obscuring his features, revealing only two deep eyes like the cold pools of Hades.
Around him, thousands of Death Knights stood like statues, also clad in black armor, with Soul fires burning in their eye sockets.
They silently guarded their master, and beneath their feet lay more shattered corpses of bears and humans.
The entire territory had been completely purged in just a few minutes.
The lord who possessed the advanced excellence “Tusk Bear” troop was now being stepped on the face by Mo Yu’s armored iron boot, barely alive, blood oozing from his mouth and nose.
Yet, he used his last remaining strength to let out a vague and malicious curse: “Bastard… you’ll die a horrible death… I curse you… go to Hell…”
“Heh.”
A very light, indifferent sneer came from under the faceplate.
Mo Yu had no interest in the dying wails of a defeated dog; he didn’t even have the desire to look down.
He raised his other hand, fingers splayed, pointing towards the dimly lit Territory Core not far away.
A strange dark-silver ring on his finger, seemingly entwined by countless tiny skeletons, glowed faintly.
An invisible suction force emanated, and the Territory Core actually transformed into a streak of light, forcibly sucked into the ring!
The skull carving on the ring’s surface seemed to flash contentedly, then returned to silence.
After all this was done, Mo Yu pressed down slightly with his foot.
“Crack.”
A bone-jarring crunch sounded, and the cursing stopped abruptly.
Mo Yu flicked the blood from the tip of his sword and sheathed it.
He seemed to have merely completed an insignificant daily chore, and began unhurriedly tallying the spoils of this battle.
Some Soul Crystals, a few decent pieces of equipment, and the newly acquired Territory Core energy within that special ring.
As for basic resources, he couldn’t be bothered to look at them.
Once everything was settled, he unhurriedly opened the System panel and brought up the “Death Notice List” that he had “impulsively” published in the regional channel yesterday.
