204: Chapter 204 A Devastating Defeat

The front-line knights instinctively raised their bone shields, which were etched with eerie runes and entwined with the aura of death.

Several Death Knight generals channeled their power, and barriers composed of pale bone phantoms instantly rose before the army formation!

"Boom! Boom! Boom!"

"Clang! Clang! Clang!"

Arrows and flames slammed violently into the bone shields and skeletal barriers, erupting in deafening roars, piercing impacts, and the hissing of energy annihilation.

Moonlight Power eroded the bones, while flames incinerated the death energy.

Despite their timely defense, these three rounds of saturated bombardment still caused obvious chaos in the Death Knight formation.

Front-line bone shields shattered, and countless knights were pierced through their soul fires by arrows or engulfed by flames, falling as charred skeletons.

The rear formation was squeezed as they tried to evade the Spells, disrupting the originally orderly ranks.

And amidst the brief chaos and suppression created by this long-range firepower...

"Roar!!!"

A roar that seemed to come from the primordial era shook the entire battlefield!

Lin Feng had already galloped to the front of the formation, his crimson gold coiling dragon spear pointing straight at the firmament!

Behind him, a thousand platinum rank Golden Armored Spearmen let out a roar of blood and Qi as their Battle Intent soared, converging into a visible crimson torrent that flooded frantically into Lin Feng's body!

"Crimson Sun unit, Battle Soul, condense!"

"Boom!!!"

A Scarlet Sun Avatar over a hundred meters tall, its entire body burning with blazing gold-red flames, its face as majestic as a deity, and straddling a dragon-horse battle soul, stood towering between heaven and earth!

The giant flaming spear in the avatar's hand, formed entirely of Battle Intent, emitted a terrifying pressure that slightly distorted space just by existing.

That brilliant Divine Might had actually reached the diamond rank level!

"Wh-what is that?"

Mo Yu's pale pupils suddenly shrank to pinpoints behind his visor, and a shiver and chill originating from the depths of his Soul instantly swept through his body!

diamond rank! That is definitely a diamond rank energy fluctuation!

How is this possible? How could a Platinum 5-star general summon a diamond rank battle Soul avatar?!

Fear was fear, but Mo Yu was, after all, a ruthless character who had undergone the baptism of death.

Suppressing his palpitations, he let out a hoarse roar:

"All Platinum combatants, at any cost, entangle that giant! You cannot let him charge the formation!"

Hundreds of Death Knight generals emitting Platinum fluctuations emerged in response, the soul fires in their eye sockets burning frantically as they erupted with dense black death energy.

Wielding weapons burning with netherfire, they charged toward the towering Scarlet Sun Avatar like moths to a flame, unafraid of death!

They knew very well that if they didn't stop this giant, the entire army formation would be pierced through in a single strike!

"Swish!"

Almost at the same time the Death Knight Platinum generals moved, a silver arrow as cold as lunar radiance and as swift as a meteor arrived through the air without warning!

A Platinum 2-star Death Knight general charging at the very front didn't even have time to react before the soul fire in his helmet's eye socket was accurately pierced by this silver light!

The purifying Lunar Radiance attached to the arrow instantly erupted, completely annihilating his entire head along with the soul fire within!

The tall skeleton collapsed with a crash.

Lin Yin had stood atop the canopy of an ancient tree at some point, moonlight longbow in hand, her expression as cold as frost.

She didn't look at the fallen enemy; the bowstring vibrated silently again, and the second and third arrows had already left the string.

Like a roll call from the God of Death, every arrow was accurately aimed at the soul fire core of a Platinum Death Knight!

The free hunt had officially begun.

At this moment, the battlefield completely boiled over!

The Scarlet Sun Avatar wielded its giant flaming spear; every sweep and Thrust carried the power to shatter mountains and crack the earth, forcing back, sending flying, or even incinerating into ash the Death Knight Platinum generals who tried to approach!

Despite being besieged by nearly a hundred people, they were unable to get close for a time, and were instead suppressed into continuous retreat.

After completing three rounds of volleys, the Pale Moon Hunters and Crimson Flame Mages switched to free firing and area suppression, specifically targeting those Death Knight units trying to regroup or cast Spells.

Lin Yin transformed into a ghostly death god on the battlefield; her arrows were fast, accurate, and ruthless, specifically picking out enemy Platinum generals. Every soft twang of the bowstring almost always meant the extinguishing of a soul fire.

And the fifty thousand Gold-rank army under Lin Tian's command was now like a torrent breaking through a dam.

Under the command of their respective generals, they split into several groups and launched an overwhelming general offensive from the flanks and the front against the Death Knight army formation, which had been disrupted by long-range fire, pinned down by the Scarlet Sun Avatar, and picked off by Lin Yin!

The battle entered a fever pitch from the very beginning and quickly tilted in a one-sided direction.

Mo Yu sat on his Undead Warhorse, looking at the desperate situation before him, his heart filled with unwillingness and rage.

His Death Knights had strong individual strength and the advantage of Legendary quality, but they couldn't withstand the opponent's overwhelming numbers, comparable quality, tacit tactical cooperation, and the disruption of three top-tier combatants!

"Numbers... it's still about numbers!"

Mo Yu gnashed his teeth.

It wasn't that he hadn't thought about mass-producing troops, but since his Territory Core was polluted by Karl, although it broke conventional recruitment limits, it came with another heavy price.

Killing Polluted Monsterss no longer yielded Spirit Crystals! His only source of Spirit Crystals was now the single path of plundering other lords!

Plundering required time, targets, and even more so, taking risks.

Being able to amass these seven thousand Legendary Death Knights was already the result of exhausting his schemes and hunting everywhere.

At this stage, those who could have an army of such scale, besides those low-level lords who could only recruit ordinary troop types and relied on human wave tactics, in his impression...

There was only Lord Karl, the monster-like Lin Tian before him, and...

That Long Ao, who had also sided with Karl and was said to possess Black Dragon troops.

But there had been no news of Long Ao for a long time...

"Damn it!"

Mo Yu swung his sword to parry a stray arrow aimed at his mount. Seeing the Death Knights constantly falling around him, he knew the defeat was certain.

Every attack from the Scarlet Sun Avatar made his heart tremble with fear, and the arrows of that Lunar Radiance woman were even more impossible to guard against.

And the opponent's army, surging like a tide, was compressing his living space step by step.

In just over ten minutes, his seven thousand Death Knights had already suffered nearly a one-third loss!

More than twenty Platinum generals had been picked off by Lin Yin!

He couldn't fight anymore!

If he kept fighting, forget about completing the mission—he might even lose his life here!

"Retreat! Toward the northwest, provide alternating cover, and disengage from combat!"

Mo Yu finally let out an unwilling roar, glaring fiercely at the young lord in the distance who remained composed and rode a flaming dragon-horse.

Turning his horse around, surrounded by a group of personal guards, he began to force a breakout toward the periphery of the battlefield.

The defeat was like a mountain collapsing; Lin Tian's advantage was rapidly expanding.
